I would bring my dog and cat here whenever I had any concerns. And I loved it and always trusted their opinion and always did any treatment they recommend. However just recently I came to bring my 13 year old dog in and the vet was very nice. However the receptionist is super rude the way she talks to people it seems like she hates her job. Which I never really minded her until today I have became so disappointed in this place and the staff. I took my dog in just for a check up the doctor recommended SENIOR blood work. Which I agreed to do. This young girl came to grab my dog while she left me in the room she closed the door but was speaking so loud I heard her ask the vet if my dog was "sketchy" because she "seemed" like it . The vet clearly told her no she was fine but to put a muzzle on her if need be. A muzzle???! Really on a senior dog??! Are you kidding me I was so upset. At the fact that this little girl would even think my dog was sketchy when she was just nervous and is attached to me so obviously she did not want to leave me. And she HAS HAD NO ISSUES ANYWHERE. I waited 30 mins for blood work saying they were "understaffed" I asked the girl if she muzzled my dog and hesitated to tell me she then said yes because "she was trying to bite" but obviously little did she know I heard her say she thought my dog was sketchy. My dog is a small medium mixed terrier she did not have to be muzzled. And stressed her out more. I am so upset I paid $266 for such a terrible experience. I work at a pet boarding facility and always recommended this vet since I used them not any more that was so unprofessional of them. And with working at a boarding facility I handle enough of "sketchy" dogs and never muzzle them just for them being nervous. They were medical ways to restrain a dog especially a dog that weighs less then a human! Never again. I suggest training your staff or learn to speak lower so a customer doesnt hear you speak that way towards their dog. I could not believe and still in shocked this all happened. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Get staff who arent afraid of dogs and think a dog is sketchy for not wanting to leave their owner. Paid $266 for such bad service never again. Ill take my "sketchy" dog to other vets since she never had an issue before till this.

I LOVE Cypress Avenue Animal Hospital! Dr Swindall and all the staff are wonderfully caring; you can feel they are personally invested in the well-being of the animals they are treating! We have been faithful customers for 10 years, and have referred friends with dogs and cats many times. The clinical experience of Dr Swindall really shows, and her ability to communicate complex medical problems in simple terms is really appreciated. She also has a wonderfully sensitive and considerate manner of handling with nuanced professionalism the myriad of emotional states that pet-owners experience when their "babies" are ill. This clinic is "low key" but thats because they put a premium on affordable care, rather than lavish presentation: the quality of knowledge and professional expertise are TOP NOTCH. I always have felt that their priorities are well-aligned and I highly recommend this place! (PS: If you are looking for someone to care for your pets when you are on holiday I would guide you to Marlyn, who has been our "holiday caretaker" for years and is both adept and reliable, and a really kind person as well!)

My tomcat apparently had a serious fight with another cat and a significant chunk of his shoulder was an open wound. I called Cypress and they agreed to take him immediately. The staff was very kind, even though he bit one of them in the examination process. The vet was very kind and explained to me the seriousness of bites to cats from other cats and their treatment. She had given him painkillers and an antibiotic shot. Rather than operate on him immediately she prescribed antibiotics and 10 days of observation to see if he could grow new skin over the wound. I was to return him at the end of the period ( but call if there were complications). If the skin was not going to regrow, they would close the wound with a later operation. I am always impressed when a professional talks himself or herself out of an expensive procedure (I do this as a lawyer) in favor of wait and see. My kudos to the staff and I am glad that I chose them. Oliver Harris

We just recently moved to Covina from Corona and were looking for a good local veterinarian to take care of our dogs. We did get a good referral from a friend at our work and also from Yelp. So when my dog Sophie needed some medical attention I decided to check them out. Im so glad I did. The staff was very friendly, caring and really did seem genuinely concerned. They took me right in the same day I had called, diagnosed the issue with my dog and sent us home with the proper meds and things needed to get our Soph back in good shape. I even had taken her back a few days later and had the same caring treatment. Shes all better now and back to her spunky self. Thank you to all the staff and Dr. Christina Swindall for being so nice and kind in helping our dog get better. You have a new customer for sure !

Cypress Animal Hospital is outstanding! Dr. Swindall and her staff are truly caring people. Dr. Swindall takes whatever time is necessary to discuss the issue at hand...she never rushes! Like me, my dogs are not happy about going to the doctor, but she is so gentle, they do very well. Her staff, too, are excellent at what they do. I could go to the veterinarian that is 5 minutes from my house, but they dont hold a candle to Dr. Swindall and her staff, so the 20 minute drive to Cypress is well worth it! The hospital itself is very well presented! My dogs are my babies; their primary care physician is just as important as mine is! :) I strongly recommend Cypress Animal Hospital.

They are very dedicated to taking care of pets. When my dg needed to take some medicine, I just couldnt get him to take it, so I took him back to Cypress and explained the situation. One of the employees gave him the medicine and explained and showed me how to do it. I was completely surprised that they didnt charge me. Another time when I was there, someone brought in a stray cat that had been hit and was in bad shape. The person said he couldnt afford to pay and it wasnt his cat. They took the cat anyway. I dont think there are many businesses like that nowadays.

I recently lost my beloved cat of 15 years Chandler, I came to cypress animal hospital to have him cremated, when I came in the nurse at the front was very kind. When I went back to pick up his remains the staff again was so sweet and acknowledged my loss. When I got home I unpacked his remains and evrything was so beautiful. A few days later I received a handwritten condolence card from the staff, I know it may not seem like much but it meant a lot to me and my family for that I am thankful to this staff and will be recommending them to all my friends and family.
