We moved to Colorado Springs a year and a half ago and started taking our lab mix, Shiner, to this clinic. We loved Dr. Fisher. She genuinely cared for our dog, so we continued to take him there. However, 2 weeks ago, Shiner started coughing occasionally (but he was still eating and playing normally), and when we took him in, we found out that Dr. Fisher had left to start her own practice (but her practice hadnt opened yet). So, since they had Shiners records, we ask that they take a look at him. They diagnosed him with kennel cough and gave us some mild antibiotics. A week later, Shiner was doing worse. His cough was still only occasional, but he also was shedding a lot and appeared more lethargic. We called Monday morning of August 18th to express our concern. Holly answered and told us the doctor would call us back later that day. We have no idea who that doctor is because he never called us back and we still havent spoken to him. So, on Tuesday morning, we called back again and described Shiners symptoms to Holly over the phone. She relayed that to the doctor (we think) and told us that kennel cough gets worse before it gets better and that we should just refill our antibiotics prescription. We trusted their response and kept him on the antibiotics and waited. On Wed the 20th, Shiner stopped eating and started breathing faster and noisier (like fluid or mucus in the lungs). He was still playing and showing energy, but it was clear he wasnt getting better. On Thursday morning the 21st, everything got dramatically worse. He wouldnt move and he peed all over his bed and his toys. So, we called Fillmore Vet and got Holly again. We described the symptoms, and she said that we could bring him in for a 2:00 pm appointment!!! We knew that he needed treatment immediately. We called a different vet and took Shiner into Brown Animal Hospital at 9:00am. He was diagnosed with bronchitis and pneumonia. The vet at Brown said it didnt look good, but that, being so young (he was not even 4 years old yet), he should pull through. They kept him overnight for treatment and rest. On Friday morning the 22nd, we got the call that Shiner didnt make it through the night. Needless to say, we were devastated. We got the autopsy results back today, and Shiner had a severe bacterial infection with multiple bacteria. He should have received more antibiotics and in larger doses. And, the vet at Brown said that had he received those earlier in the week, he probably would have made it. My wife and I cant help but place some of the blame for Shiners untimely death on Fillmore Vet. We trusted them as the experts and while Shiner didnt show us any grave symptoms until it was too late. We did notice him getting worse early in the week and tried to get Fillmore Vet to see him again. We could not even get the doctor on the phone to express our concerns. We are responsible pet owners who have had numerous pets throughout our lives. Weve never experienced a misdiagnosis like this before. We have a cat and will have more dogs in the future. But, we will never trust Fillmore Vet with our pets health again. And, I warn others against trusting their pets with this clinic. R.I.P. Shiner

Dr. Cor has been my vet since 1986. Today, I called to make an appointment to take my cat in because he began having difficulty urinating over the weekend. The receptionist could not find me in their system; not by my name, my phone number, or by any of my cats names. So essentially I am no longer welcome there as a client. In February I had taken my cat in as an emergency on a Saturday morning, and was turned away by Dr. Alex because I didnt have an appointment. (I had called the clinic early that morning and left a message explaining what was going on and that I would be there when they opened.) The receptionist informed me that Dr. Alex refused to see my cat, who had an obvious UTI because he was peeing blood. I was informed to take my cat an emergency animal hospital, in front of the other clients who were in the waiting room. How embarrassing. There was another person there as an emergency walk in, and Dr. Alex agreed to see them. They had a dog with a sore on its side. Certainly not the kind of treatment I expected, especially because I am an established client with a long history there. Needless to say, I was totally outraged and could not believe I was refused care for my sick cat. I ended up going to Yorkshire Animal Hospital and was seen immediately because, according to them, this was an emergency. The following Monday, Dr. Cor called me and apologized. Since my cat was still showing signs of distress due to the UTI, Dr. Cor said he would see him. This was with the understanding that I would not be able to pay the bill right away. Honestly, I dont think I should have even been charged due to the horrible and down right disrespectful treatment by Dr. Alex. About a week after Dr. Cor had treated my cat, he called me to check on my cat, and ask about the payment. Also, I had written a review, which was not favorable at all, because of Dr. Alex. Dr. Cor asked me to change the review I had written, which I did. Unfortunately, it took me longer to get the bill paid than I had planned. But I did pay what I owed in full. So fast forward to today. The receptionist had already given me an appointment time until she couldnt find me in the system. Imagine my shock in discovering that I am no longer welcome there as a client after 31 years simply because I was not able to pay that previous bill right away. Once again, my cat was sick with an emergency situation and I was refused care. Oh, and I had the money for the appointment. I called Yorkshire and they told me I didnt need an appointment and to bring my cat in right away, that he was in an emergency situation. They took us back as soon as we arrived. The care and respect we received was more than worth the $200 I paid today. I will never recommend Dr. Cor or Fillmore Veterinary to anyone, ever. Out of loyalty and courtesy I had removed my previous negative review, as Dr. Cor had asked me to do. Not this time. Not after the unprofessional way I was treated. Not after being denied care twice for an emergency. Not after being a loyal client for 31 years. Not after I was removed as a client without even a notice. Shame on you.

We rescued a beagle a week ago that apparently has an injury that we are unaware of how it happened - however she has a lump on her side, is crying from time to time, will not eat (a beagle that wont eat?) and is very lethargic. When we called this vet based on its obvious deceptive reviews (probably filled out by family members of the vet or friends to help her out), she answered like a sorority girl and when we told her the condition our beagle was in she said quite unfeelingly, "I really dont have any openings today - maybe tomorrow." in a very teenage tone. When we asked about payment options - she said (in a tone that she had better things to do than waste her time talking to me.) "Well, I have to have at least 45 bucks. After that it will raise." *dead silence - bit of an exasperated sigh while waiting for my reply.* Seriously sounded like a child. A teenie bopper just out of "vet" school. She didnt want to be bothered with my beagles pain or my questions upon payment. I seriously am in disblief after she answered her own phone after all and acted completely immature and bothered - that the below reviews are indeed real. But if you feel like you want someone who (maybe because it is Friday night.) is going to put off your pet because it is the weekend despite your pet is crying and in pain and wont eat, than go for it. Perfect place if you want to drop of your pet and go party with the vet. If you want medical care for your pet, you may wish to call a real vet.
