My family recently adopted a stray cat so we decided to take her in to be checked out. Dr. Brase looked at her guessed her to be about a year old, gave her a rabies and feline leukemia shot, and looked at her tummy and said she was not spayed. I asked about the possiblity of pregnancy because her nipples were more pronounced. He assumed no, but did not do any tests. I had to go in a week later for a booster shot and at the time asked about worms since she was a stray. I was told I needed to bring in a fecal sample, but was not informed this when I first said she was a stray. I also said she had been urinating all over the house and wanted her checked for a UTI. Dr. Brase did no tests on her, looked her over and said it sounded like a bladder problem. He gave me a prescription and said that should take care of it. The next day I found worms in my cats feces and called the office, they were closed. I decided to call my previous veternary office to have her looked at becuse I was not happy with Dr. Brases assmptions. Based on what I shared with the vet, she said it could be a UTI or that she is pregnant. She decided to do an x-ray to rule out pregnancy. Well, it turns out my cat is pregnant and roughly 3 weeks away from giving birth. I was told to stop the antibotic I was given for a bladder infection, and they were testing the fecal sample for the type of worm to know how best to treat it since she is pregnant. I am very disappointed in Dr. Brases assumptions. My cat was given an unnecessary medication based on a false assumption rather than a professional testing. I would not recommend the Rockrimmon Animal Clinic to anyone.

Dr Brase is a very caring man with a wonderful disposition towards all of the pets that enter his office. You can tell that both he and his staff really love and care for all of the animals they see. In my case, Ive got a 14 year old pug and Ive taken him to several vets over the years. Dr Brase is amongst the best vets with whom Ive ever worked. I know that my dog is old and eventually nature will take its course, but in February of 2016, I was really faced with a tough problem. My dog rapidly went from walking pretty well to dragging his legs around in less than 24 hours. I really didnt know what was going on. I thought maybe he had an acute injury, but either way, I was afraid I was going to be faced with a tough decision much sooner than I had hoped. Dr Brase quickly diagnosed my dog with a nerve disorder (degenerative myelopathy) that had been slowly developing, but which manifest itself within a 24-hour period. Although I was afraid the end was near, Dr Brase recommended trying acupuncture and a couple of medicines and within a week, my pug was actually walking again and using all four legs. I dont expect miracles, but now its been over a year (written in May 2017) and my dog is still walking and has good quality of life. I never would have thought acupuncture would be a feasible solution for a dog, but now I am a believer in both conventional and alternative medicines. I truly respect Dr Brase and I know that he has the best interests of both me and my dog in mind when he makes a recommendation. Thanks and I highly recommend Dr Brase and the staff at Rockrimmon to anyone who is looking for a vet in the area.

I beg you to find another vet. He completely disregarded her blood work. Sent my dog home in severe anemia and thrombocytopenia. Said "see you in a month, 50/50 chance shell survive," he couldnt get out of there quick enough and started her on a supplement for her liver. What she needed was to be started on high dose steroids and immunosuppressants and sent to the ER immediately. We trusted him and his role as a Vet so we took her home. One week later after the liver supplement she was bleeding from her nose and spent the night in the ER, it was there they confirmed IMHA. We were able to start treatment and get another 6 weeks with her. Unfortunately, she passed. I do not know if there hadnt been a delay, maybe she would have had a better chance. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. This is negligent care and any vet knows a PCV of 28% and a platelet count of 6 warrants more investigation, immediate intervention and the recommendation to go to the ER not a liver supplement and a half hearted "see ya in a month"

I dont expect the world. But I do expect considerate business practices. Made an appointment with this clinic and they didnt even bother to change voicemail or make a courtesy call to reschedule after they decided to close for the weather. Wasted over two hours of my time getting there and waiting thinking they were running late. Cant say much for a practice that literally doesnt care about its own clients time. A simple change on their house vm saying they would reschedule for weather would have saved me a lot of time and money. Its a small practice and local which is why I originally decided to stay with them. I wont be bringing my pets back here. If you cant perform the basic courtesies of a practice, you dont deserve to be in business.
