Im fostering a dog who was needing spayed, so fortunately I only had to come here once because Id never come again. I arrived at 7:30am to drop off the dog, and the girl at the desk seemed less than interested to help me. I was told theyd call me to let me know how the surgery went and when she would be ready to be picked up. I let them know Id be back at 5:30, after work, so just to let me up to date. I pull up at 5:30, and they do seem busy, however I stood at the front desk for almost 10 min before anyone came out to check me in. I told the guy who I was looking for, he just nodded and disappeared again. When he came back barely whispered "shell be out, go sit and wait", and when i asked him what he said he looked at me like I was the idiot for not hearing him whisper at me. Then I watched him struggle to check in another woman who said multiple times that she has been a client there before. And THEN a nurse assistant brings out my dog, all tangled in leashes. She starts to go over the sheet with me and explain the DOS and donts. I didnt see any notes about the bordatella, so i asked "did they do the bordatella?" And her response was "umm, yeah it looks like they did". Then, as it turns out, the dog has already been spayed so they put her through an "exploratory surgery". Maybe its necessary, I highly doubt it was. The nurse assistant seemed to have no clue one way or the other if this poor dog needed to be put through any of this. THEN we get loaded up in the car, and she comes running out saying "ooh, it doesnt look like we DID do her bordatella, can you bring her back in". It was just one thing after the next. Ive NEVER had such a poor experience at any vet, shelter, or animal treatment facility. Unless you enjoy poor customer service, a shaky knowledge of your animals health, and the smell of urine when you walk in... Id advise moving on to the next name on the list of recommended veterinarians.

I adopted a dog recently and as part of the adoption agreement, I needed to take him to Red Rocks Animal Center for a final test for a preexisting condition that he was on medication for. After three attempts to make an appointment, I still hadnt received a call back. I was finally able to make an appointment once I asked my rescue agency to reach out to them. On the day of my appointment, my dog and I had to wait in the lobby for an hour along with several other patients which no explanation regarding the wait. When I finally asked, the staff said that the doctor was pulled into emergency surgery, and the other doctor was out of town. I definitely understand emergency situations, but my dog was unhappy with the wait, so I decided to try another time. I was able to make an appointment for the next day. This time, the lobby wait was much quicker. However, once I actually was in an exam room I was still made to wait for another 30 minutes. Dr. G finally entered and demanded to know why I was there for that test. He did not greet my dog at all. He begrudgingly agreed to perform the test and then left, never to be seen again. Two assistants (who were very friendly) performed the test on my dog and I was sent on my way. I have not yet heard the results of the test after two weeks and have not been able to reach anyone. I will of course not be going back to Red Rocks Animal Center due to the absence of any sense of customer service or even basic social skills. After reading several reviews I wonder if since the office seems to be a preferred vet for several rescue agencies, they know theyre already paid and dont have the time to bother with caring for non-regular patients.

Ill start off by admitting I never brought my animal here. Maybe if youre an established customer theyre nicer. But I will never know, because unless theres a huge emergency with my dog and theyre the only option Ill never go to them. It all began when my dogs heartworm prevention meds ran out. Everyone claimed I could just get some at Walmart or Petco, but as it turns out you absolutely need a prescription from a vet. I called Red Rocks and asked if I could just come by and buy some since I needed them in a hurry. They said yes. So, I came over. And its a tiny waiting room full of animals. They either need to schedule better or get more doctors, because I can only imagine going here as a long wait time in a cramped room where everyone hopes their animals happen to get along. It wasnt well lit or clean. I was uncomfortable to say the least. And then, after being told to come by they informed me they couldnt sell me the meds because I didnt bring the dog. No mention of that before or even some common sense follow up. If you need his history, why not offer to call his former vet? (I loved them, by the way. We just moved.) Or, I dont know, ask me how much he weighs? Because I know that. There was no sense of politeness here as everyone was rude and confused about why I would come to them and ask for a refill. Over all it was an awful experience.

Dr G and his team are amazing, and I will take my pets to Red Rocks Animal Center as long as I live in the Denver Metro Area Last week I came home from work and my cat was barely breathing. We saw 5 Vets in the 36 hours that followed, spent 2 nights in Urgent Cares, maxed out 2 credit cards, and still had no answers. Then my brother told me to go see Dr. G. I called during their lunch break and went straight to voicemail, and someone immediately called me back and told me to bring my cat in right away. Within 10 minutes, Dr. G was calling me making sure we were on our way! I told Dr. G I was running out of money and options, and I didnt want my kitty to die just because I couldnt afford to get him the help he needed, and Dr. G came up with a plan. Spunky spent 6 nights hospitalized with the staff here. They kept him hydrated, diagnosed him, and nursed him back to health, watching him around the clock, and my bill for 6 days was less than 1/4 what I had spent at all the other Vet offices for nothing. They do get VERY busy, so getting ahold of someone can be difficult. They had a full waiting room both when I dropped off my cat and when I picked him up. But they are busy because they are awesome, and I always got a call back with an update. I cant thank Dr G and his team enough for saving Spunkys life!

I got my puppy through a local rescue, and they use Red Rocks to care for all their animals because of the low cost. The rescue covers the cost of the spay operation here, so I dropped her off this morning. The vet mentioned that she had double rows of teeth where her baby teeth hadnt fallen out and asked if I wanted him to take them out while she was under. I asked how much, he said $15 each, so the two incisors would be $30, and there might be a couple more. I said ok, do it, since I didnt want her to have to go under again at a later time. Well, when I went to pick her up THEY HAD PULLED TEN TEETH! The poor little baby is miserable. I dont know how Im going to get her to take the pills she needs post op, because she doesnt want to eat anything, and I dont want to struggle with her and have her pull her incision open. I also cant read the handwriting on one of the medications, so I dont know how frequently to give it to her. I called and left a message an hour and a half before closing, and now its 5:30, they havent called me back, and they are closed for the day. Oh, and I also paid $15 for a plastic cone there, and when I took it off I found that the strap was covered in black fur. My dog is white and buff, So I was given a USED recovery collar and overcharged for it, too.
