My advice is to not take birds here. We were on our way to take our sick bird here, but the staff was shockingly rigid, unsympathetic and unable to accommodate the instructions provided by other aviary vets (including CSU) regarding temperature and general care. The almost-visit ended in with family in tears and staff explaining that that "this was not the place" to bring the sick bird because they were ill-equipped to deal with our sick bird. Further, after clear representations that a sophisticated level of care could be provided, including certain specific procedures, we learned that our appointment was scheduled 15 minutes before close of business. The hour drive placed a great deal of stress on the already sick bird. Not sure if she will make it now. A follow up call to staff resulted in a fair bit of back-peddling, blame-shifting and all around defensiveness. Consistently no apparent desire to accommodate or sympathize. As an owner of three dogs and two birds, it has been my experience that vet staff generally want to explore ways to try to accommodate distressed pet owners. However, no effort whatsoever was made to achieve this at Goldenview. To be clear, there was ultimately no interaction between us, our bird and any vet here. Maybe the vets are ok? Well never know because of the rigidity and inability of staff to work to accommodate seemingly simple animal care requests. My suggestion to to take sick birds elsewhere.

I had an absolutely phenomenal experience. I live less than five minutes away from a different reptile vet and I will make the 30 minute drive to GoldenView for every need of Ender! The staff was exceptional - both receptionists (Carrie & Vickie), both nurses (Amanda & Erin), and Dr. Kris! I came in panicked and terrified about what was happening to my leopard gecko, and I was met with so much kindness, calmness, confidence, and intelligence. The staff was far beyond accommodating. Not only did they fit Ender and I in between other patients, but they also took Ender under their wing as I left for a previously arranged event (my sister was to get engaged that day!). Dr. Kris was able to diagnose Ender (poor thing has Gout!) and offer a treatment plan. With her age (and fiances), we (my husband and I) had to decide whether to (permanently treat) or euthanize. I was a crying mess - the staff gave me all the privacy I needed and clearly were nonjudgmental of us as caregivers considering euthanization. As we debated and asked millions of questions, Dr. Kris and the nurses were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and straight forward. When we had finally decided to treat, they gave non-rushed directions, let me practice, and sent us off. Only as we left, had I realized, they stayed 30 minutes after close to make sure we were confident in our decision and not pressured! Wow! HUGE THANK YOU! Beyond exceptional!

On September 29th, took my 4 year old little girl (Ebby) a bull terrier in for a “routine” teeth cleaning and she never woke up. Her histopathology and necropsy showed no existing conditions i.e. perfectly healthy; she had been under anesthesia before without issue. And yet she is not alive today. I have serious questions about what and how this happened, and I have been given little solace from information provided. The listed cause is (IAR) idiopathic anesthetic reaction, chances of this happening 1 in 400-800. Now does that sound like a statically insignificant number, it is straight off their report? Seriously if that was explained to me the real risk there is no way I would have ever agreed to that for such a minor thing. Sadly I am sure I signed something acknowledging it and I will forever regret it. This practice deserves more than just a negative mark, but about all that is afforded to me as pet owner is to share this information with as many others as I can. I cannot truly express my heartbreak and anger here. In my opinion it is greed that drives a practice to push these proceeds that their own stats show as statically high risk. Let this be a warning to listening to so called experts pushing you to do something unnecessary to make a profit. I am so sorry Ebby for every taking you there and I miss you every day. You had so much more life ahead of you.

We have taken my Cockatoo here for over a year when we got our Macaw. Set up an appointment to have her looked at and of course with any new bird she was scared and aggressive and wouldnt even let my Husband and I take her out of her cage. I called Goldenview and explained the situation to them about Jazmine and at any point they could of been like okay lets reschedule the appt. Instead they transferred me to their vet tech to go over techniques on how to get her there. Nothing worked, but they didnt give up. The vet tech came to our house on her own time and helped me with getting her in the carrier for the appt. Now that is what I call top service! Yes they arent the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for with the cheaper ones. They have always taken such good care of our animals and Dr Kris is amazing. I call her the bird whisper because my aggressive Macaw that wouldnt go to anyone jumped right on her fingers and cuddled with her from the second that she saw her. So if you want a vet that knows their stuff and is amazing with your animals go here.

Recently my old Cockatiel took a turn for the worst, so having had a good experience with this vet in the past, and also knowing that they have the experience with birds, I came back. With his condition and age, unfortunately it was more of a matter of keeping him comfortable until the end, (which I already knew going in, but needed some help with keeping him comfortable). When the time came, Dr. Kris and staff treated us with such kindness and compassion, giving us the proper time and presence for grieving over our long time friend. There are plenty of other bird owners out there who are extremely cautious about who they trust their companions with, this review is for all of you. Dr. Kris not only has the necessary experience with birds, which is a rare find in this area, but she and the staff also have the compassion for the relationship between bird and human, and the respect for the animal. I definitely would recommend this hospital to others looking for a trusted place to take their birds.

Took my 5 1/2 week old Chinese Shar pei(Still too young to be away from mom) and the staff treated her with nothing but love and patience. Veterinary Nurse, Howard was kind to my puppy, from my perspective, he did everything he needed to do and was very knowledgeable towards any questions I had.Veterinarian Kris Ahlgrim, was super lovable. She wasnt afraid to get into my puppys mouth and show me how to brush her teeth. The staff understood my situation with such a young pup and made the experience so much easier. The visit went great and my pup felt very comfortable around the clinic. I received special brand of food to take home and couldnt be happier with the attention my dog has been receiving.(They also follow up with test results very quickly!)

I needed to get my cat into a vet somewhere immediately and Im fairly new to the area so I wasnt a patient anywhere yet. I read some reviews online and Goldenview happened to be able to get me in and had decent reviews. When I went I had the best experience. Dr. Kris and her staff are genuinely sweet people from the moment you walk in through the moment you leave. My female cat is kind of grouchy (to be polite) and Dr. Kris was able to get my cat to warm up to her on the second visit. She didnt push surgery when she could have, she follows up with you and it was very reasonable. I love that they give you a courtesy call the following day to see how your experience was and check on your pet.
