I had a very sick chihuahua, Armondo, my Mondo man. I was worried he was in pain and with the sudden grave illness, knew in the back of my mind, I was going to have to help him to the Rainbow Bridge. I called ahead and they were waiting for me when I got there. They did an assessment and agreed it would be better to help him to the Bridge. Crying hysterically, the vet gave me all the time I needed to say good-bye. They were understanding with my irrational requests like to get his paw print before they put him to sleep, to let me hold him a specific way, the way I always held him, so he would be comfortable when we helped him to the Bridge, and the length of time I needed after he was gone and to have a small clipping of his fur. (Crying as I write this). I had him cremated. They were so kind when they called to let me know he was back and I could pick up his ashes. The package they give you when you are at your lowest is so complete and so very needed during such a hard time. They sent a sympathy card after and made a donation in Armondos name to the Human Animal Bond Trust, who also sent a sympathy card. (Still crying - missing my boy). Im sure every review is about their great care of pets but you also need to know about the great care they have for their owners too. Nobody wants to talk about how sad they were at a vet visit. If you are facing one of the hardest decisions you have to make regarding your pet and helping them to the Rainbow Bridge, I would HIGHLY recommend Mesa for that decision. I would give them 10 stars if possible. Nobody plans to help their furbaby to the Bridge, but if you are in that position, the staff at Mesa is the most compassionate you will find. They will be my vet for my other 4-legged children. Thank you Mesa, for everything!

I usually dont write reviews, but had such a wonderful experience here that I felt moved to share it. I had originally scheduled an appointment @ the VCA Firehouse Animal Hospital in Denver because its only a couple of minuted from my house, but when I discovered that a check-up and tooth-clipping for my rabbit would be over $120, I calcelled! Firehouse doesnt even specialize in rabbits. I found Mesa, which is much less expensive and also has vets who do in fact specialize in rabbits. Though its a bit more of drive, it was well worth it-- and not just because of the reasonable price. Today was my 1st visit @ Mesa. I took my Holland Lop rabbit, Lucy here for check up and to look into an overgrown tooth. I always dread taking Lucy to the vet because she usually gets stressed and anxious. My visit @ Mesa changed this today. Most clinics are cold & sterile looking-- Mesa had lovely, clean examine rooms that make visitors feel at ease. The staff is so warm, kind, and gentle. Dr. Batch & Lynn, (a Vet assistant?) worked with Lucy and I could just tell that they both love animals so much. Not only that, but they know rabbits very well, which I cant say for all vets Ive seen, even ones that supposedly specialize in rabbits & small animals. Dr. Batch was thorough in his exam, and by the end of the visit, Lucy was as relaxed and calm as Ive ever seen her! Turns out, she has an ear infection, and needs to be sedated to take care of that and her teeth, but I honestly dont feel nervous about taking her back for her procedure. I cannot say enough to compliment the staff at this hospital-- so caring, so personable, knowledgeable.... the list goes on! Fantastic place, overall.

I am very upset with the way I was treated at this business. Mainly the whole principal of the matter , they would not help my extremely sick kitty with out being prepaid, I understand, they have a business to run. After scrapping up & borrowing enough money for my side kick of 12 yrs, whom needed a blood transfusion, they finally kept her overnight, I arrived the next day to see if she was responding to the transfusion I was then given the option to take her home knowing she needed more treatment or cough up some more cash..I asked the receptionist exactly what any final charges had arose, I was told $ 130 dollars, labs, tests, treatments, X-ray those had all been prepaid. I paid $30 and had $100 to pay still, took my kitty home and had one last night by her side before she grew very sick again the next day. She left me 11/11/11...Rip Peeks..so I returned about a month later to pay the remaining amount due.. to my surprise it quadrupled to a staggering near $500 dollars!! I needed an explaination for these charges, instead I was told three different things and given the run around...very disturbing and what a horrible manner to run a business! I will not pay them one more cent until they can tell me why I owe the same amount I had already prepaid them before they even began to help my kitty...I am currently fighting with a collections company 4 years later...they should be ashamed of the poor quality of customer care they displayed towards me, all cuz Im not loaded and sure as heck not going to give them money for services never rendered! Pain in my rear, but for my kitty to be here today, I would have sold my left arm!

There are not enough words or phrases to express how wonderful Dr. Pat Smith and his staff at Mesa Vet Hospital have been. Max, my 7 year old boxer has been treated so kindly and I have been treated with the honesty and professionalism that I have not found anywhere. My Max had to have part of his rib removed due to a growth. Dr. Smith took the time to explain our options and to really make every effort to advise us. We decided to go ahead with what turned out to be a difficult surgery. Every visit, every phone call to this hospital has been met with patience, kindness and courtesy. How can I say more than to tell you that at each post op visit.....Max wags his tail and eagerly enters the front door to be greeted with "Hi Max" and then given hugs and kisses. Ashlie one of the office managers is the first person I talked to when I called and she is the reason I chose Mesa. I thank her for being a wonderful and kind first impression. What she told me about Dr. Smith was certainly true. He is so wonderful and Max is doing really good now with a very good prognosis. Do not hesitate to call Mesa if you sincerely want the best care for your pet family member.

The vets and technicians at Mesa are all SO wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about this place!!! I brought my 13 yr old, fairly sick dog down to Colorado from Vancouver 3 years ago, thinking she wouldnt live much longer (especially since she already had a heart problem and I was moving to a much higher elevation). Dr. Tousley kept her not only alive, but happy and healthy for another 3 wonderful years! She loved going to the vet and they always sorted out what was wrong with her, despite being an extremely complicated dog with 3 or 4 recurring health problems. She also saw Dr. Bub and Dr. Nickerson at times, both of whom were great as well. When it finally came time for her to be put down, we saw Dr. Batch for the first time. He was gentle, kind, professional, and said all the right things. He even made imprints of her paw prints in clay for us to keep, and sent her off to be cremated for us. If you are looking for a good vet, look no further. In almost 16 years, these are the best vets my dog ever had! Ill be grateful for this place forever.
