I received terrible unacceptable treatment. The staff was not attentive, treated me with no compassion. The guys that were staffed on 4/3/17 overnight shift were more concerned about talking about the different mini vans & basically forced me leave even though I was clearly still sick. Offered no additional help. I was also asked by the MD if I was financially wealthy or had someone wealthy that was taking care if me WTF does that question have to do with me seeking medical treatment. I have medical insurance, which I feel I was discriminated against. I am extremely disappointed with this ER. Experience. I have been receiving care by Vail Valley Hospital for years including multiple surgeries. I am disappointed in the non professional services I received. I guess with the recent on going construction they forgot that real people come there for Health care. I didnt receive a follow-up call. I called Sara the ER director & of course no response from her. I left the hospital in the same condition I arrived n by ambulance. I clearly was not in any condition to leave the hospital. The guy nurse was rude, barely got any water to drink. When I asked if I could use the restroom, this nurse was rude & told me to stand up & open my eyes or this isnt going to work! WTF! I could not have been more cooperative & very nice. I was told to leave before next shift, I had a fever, could barely comprende things & wasnt very stable on my feet. I remember just tearing out of the the room but didnt know how to get out just started opening doors ended up in the garage. Not one staff member offered to help me nor properly discharge me like the policy & procedures state.

I broke a leg while snowboarding in beaver creek and ambulance took me here. Apparently I didnt have much choice with complete fracture of my femur bone. They admitted me via ER, all right, got surgery done in next few hours (during which was under narcotics painkillers), again I kind of get that there was only one orthopedic surgeon for a whole medical center located near few big ski resorts. Now I was doing good for a next day and let me go. Here where all my complains start: they couldnt figure how many waterproof pads Ill need to get back home, even though they know how many cuts I have and how often I need to change them. I had to return back to get extra and I also needed a proof that I in fact was treated by this facility so my airlines will proceed my flight change based on my medical conditions. Here the footballing from one building to another started, first they couldnt find my record like I wasnt even admitted to the hospital, though they found the doctor who did my surgery, now we went (all that on crotches) to another building to the doctor office, where they told us they dont have my record since I had been admitted via ER. And now we need to call records facility which in another city, and whoever picked up the phone was completely incompatible person who didnt have any idea what to do. So has this point one manager started to talk to another manager to basically find a proof that the person right in front of them on crotches was treated here. 15 mins later they send us back to the original office to finally got the paper. Total time spent for this piece of paper: 1.5 hour

To all of those writing negative reviews: If your kids have a runny nose, take them to urgent care, not the ER. If you are ranting about a billing error, then you probably did not have a major surgery performed here because that would be the least of things that could go wrong. If you need highly specialized orthropaedic surgery, Vail Valley Medical Center is THE place to be. Care at VVMC is world class. I had a bi-lateral pars repair using direct screw fixation in June 2017. You can count the number of physicians and facilities in the US capable of performing this procedure on one hand. Cleveland Clinic, Emory, Vanderbilt, etc. perform fusion after fusion rather than attempting this technical surgery. I sought out the Steadman Clinic and VVM after two years of back pain and the leading physicians at the aforementioned medical centers telling me that fusion at the L5 level was my only option. Everything about my experience with Vail Valley Medical Center has been absolute first class. From the waiting room to surgery prep, the OR, recovery, and the inpatient room; care at this facility was second to none. I traveled from Tennessee to have surgery at this hospital and I would do it again without a second thought. Their success rates are high and infection rates are low - thats what matters in a hospital folks. Be thankful to have such skilled physicians along with exceptional support staff in such a small mountain community!

IF YOU ARE NOT DYING DO NOT GO. I sprained my ankle over christmas and wanted to check whether anything was broken. I understand that you have to charge over 1300 USD to be admitted to the hospital i.e. be seen and sit on a hospital bed for half an hour and that the Xray would be expensive. Expensive but then they are the medical centre. The Xray showed that nothing was broken and I should have walked out. Instead I was persuaded to do another xray while I was given painkillers (that I was of course charged for as well) What I did not expect was that I would not be advised that a CT would cost me another 1400 USD without being advised that it would be costing that much. When I checked out I was advised that I would have to pay the full bill on the spot. WHICH I DID. I also asked for the X-rays and CT to show to my doctor in the UK - i did get the X-rays on a dvd but did not get the CT. When I emailed afterwards and asked for them I heard nothing. WHAT I DID NOT EXPECT WAS AN AMENDED BILL SENT TO MY HOME ADDRESS 8 MONTHS LATER CLAIMING MORE MONEY FOR THE SAME SERVICES THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR. SCAM. I WILL BE HANDING THIS STRAIGHT TO LAWYERS. DO NOT GO.

A couple years ago I went here for a sleep study. Of course most of the doctors in the area were convinced someone who was lean and fit couldnt have sleep apnea. I went in the bed was so small my feet hung off 6 inches, the room was extremely uncomfortable and bright and the weird guy kept going to the bathroom all night and when he flushed it was about as loud as a train horn. I slept maybe an hour from about 4am to 5am. They said I slept soundly all night. A few years later I have had 2 sleep studies each that confirm I am suffocating badly in my sleep. I remember waking up 4 or 5 times a night suffocating, but the study, both through ekg and video confirms I wake up 60 times or more an hour. Yeah, thats every minute. I probably have severe irreversible heart damage and other medical problems as well as losing jobs, losing friends, injuries, depression and lost opportunities. My advice would be to drive all the way to Denver and stay away from this place like your life depends on it.
