Dr. James Osmanski refused to treat my sleep disorder, and suggested that I have spinal fluid drawn (risks included brain infection and death.) in a "new, state of the art test from Standford". I was told that because the test is so cutting edge, that Standford is the only clinic that does the test. I got a second opinion. My new clinic in Colorado informed me that Dr. Osmanski was flat out lying to me, and they were very glad that I hadnt taken the test, because the test is so incredibly outdated, risky, and medically inviable that Standford is the only clinic left that does the test because they are the clinic that developed the process. Taking the test might have possibly disqualified me from having insurance cover any of my narcolepsy medication, including both a $1,500 a month wakefulness medication and a $20,000 a month restfulness medication. Dr. Osmanski also charged me for an outdated leg twitch test that was done improperly, and which my insurance refused to cover because it is also medically inviable and scientifically unbackable. The best part about seeing Dr. Osmanski was his delightful bedside manner, which was a lovely combination of sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and disrespectful. Dr. Osmanski refused to speak to me directly, opting instead to ignore me entirely and only speak to my spouse as if I were not in the room, and refused to use my correct pronouns, title, and gender to refer to me. Dr. Osmanski was also disrespectful to my spouse, and misgendered them as well. Dr. Osmanski refused to acknowledge that we are legally married, often asking us if we were friends, cousins, or even siblings even after clarification. On top of Dr. Osmanskis clear LGBT+ discrimination, his office charged me incorrectly for my sleep study, used incorrect billing codes, double billed me for parts of my sleep study, put charges on my account that have no explanation, even going so far as to charge me for days that I didnt visit the office. The best part is that no one in the Patient Financial Services office can tell me what I actually owe. Ive had two medical billing audits done on my account at Bozeman Health, both times have resulted in a different balance, both under $500. Before and after the first audit, and after the second audit, Ive had answers that my balance is anywhere between $0-$1,500 for ONLY my sleep study. Ive been told multiple times within the past week alone that my account is, somehow, simultaneously both going to collections and ineligible for collections. Ive been fighting to figure out what I actually owe so that I can pay this dumpster fire of a business for over a YEAR now, and yet I still cant get a straight answer as to what I actually owe or a complete break down of exactly what each charge is for. This is not the first time weve been discriminated against for being LGBT+ at Bozeman Health, nor is it the first time either of us has had a problem with our account billing. Bozeman Health claims that they currently have no way to recognize my legal gender, despite having spoken with their records system provider multiple times, as well as Patient Financial Services, and my spouse even offering to contract with them to fix their system. According to their records system provider, recognizing my legal gender is an easy change that Bozeman Health is responsible for, and that their records department has be trained on how to make changes to their system, and that they are free to call Epic at any time. TL;DR, if I could give Bozeman Health a lower rating than one star, I would absolutely do that. Shout out to the handful of good people who work hard for this awful business: youre amazing and you deserve better than this.

Most unhelpful people I have ever encountered. I have called for both obtaining medical records and changing billing and receive nothing but "yeah, we cant do that". Im not one to write reviews, but you dont deserve to be left alone on this. First of all, anybody has a right to obtain their medical records, for both insurance purposes or for rehabilitation purposes. So I find it odd that when I call and ask how I can request that information that all I heard was, "oh sorry but we dont do that" and "we dont provide that information". Oh, you dont do your job? You dont grant a person something they have a right to obtain? I also called to make a very simple change with my billing info and it ended with me hanging up the phone because I was frustrated with the sheer stupidity of whoever I was talking to. How can somebody be in charge of answering a phone if they are going to be completely rude, unhelpful, uninformative and act like they hate their life? Listen, if you dont like your job, get a new one. Dont put other people in a confusing situation because you have a terrible attitude. It should be VERY EASY to change payment info. Ive done it online multiple times without having to deal with some rude numbskull who somehow gets to keep their job that they perform so terribly. Yeah, the care at Bozeman Health is nothing to complain about, but the staffing in those departments is awful. Put people on the phones that know how to talk to another person and has a full, in-depth understanding of what the hell you are paying them to do. Absolutely ridiculous, you should be ashamed that you have those people giving your establishment a bad name.

One star is giving Bozeman Health ER too much. This is Matts wife speaking. I am terribly dissatisfied with the care I got from Bzn ER for a locked knee. I should have gone to Bridger Orthopedic Urgent Care first. The ER dept. sent me away with an Ace bandage, crutches, pain killers and hopes that I might be seen by an Orthopedic in six days. They told me that a MRI request is frowned upon by insurance companies, so that was a dead issue (even though its what truly needs to happen). Meanwhile, I have memories of having to lie on the waiting room floor to get comfortable and have two X-ray techs tug at my leg to get a botched X-ray (my leg would simply not go into the position for the proper X-ray). The next day I passed out from the pain I was in. My husband called the ER asking if they could issue the MRI that I should have gotten the previous day. They told him we could come in again if we wanted, but they couldnt promise anything (other than another expensive bill). After getting off the phone with ER, we decided to go to Bridger Orthopedic Urgent Care. They were fabulous. Dr. Teri Dudzinski found the solution to unlock my knee and get me out of my misery. Once my leg was able to straighten, they were able to get the X-rays needed. Bozeman Health ER was not interested in caring for me as a patient, they just saw me as a $$$ (and welcomed me back the next day without any promises). I am disgusted.

I had a series of strokes a few years back. There are signs warning that when you have a stroke "seconds count" all over there hospital, "brain cells die by the millions as seconds pass", they say. I was wheeled into emergency throwing up and "BLIND", I had completely lost my eyesight and use of my right side! They told my wife to move the car and while she was trying to find a parking spot I was left setting in a wheelchair. I remember sitting in that chair blind and I could hear someone close to me emptying trash cans, I was trying to say "HELP" but was unable to, it was terrifying! It took my wife ten minutes or so to find a parking spot and get back to emergency, I was still sitting in the chair in the same place as when she left, she threw a fit and finally I was wheeled into a room and laid in a bed where I was ignored for 10 or 15 more minutes. 25 to 30 mins before first doctor showed up. "UNCONSCIONABLE" lack of professionalism!! St. Vs in Billings were so different in their approach it was amazing, avoid Bozeman Deaconess at all costs!!!! When "seconds count" theyll be with you in "30 minutes"!!!
