Upon moving to Middlebury in 2013, I was searching for a vet a little closer than my previous one since my dog was getting older and I thought it would be nice to have the vet nearby. After a referral from a friend I made an appointment for my dogs yearly checkup. My old man was never very fond of the vet but Dr. Loeven made him feel at ease. MaryAnn at the front dest is wonderful and always helpful and inviting! Dr. Loeven is hands down the most loving, compassionate, and overall best veterinarian in my eyes! When it came time to let my almost 12 year old Yorkie go very unexpectedly this past February, Dr. Loeven and his staff gave my family and I the time we needed to say our "Well see ya laters". The entire staff at Middlebury Animal Hospital is beyond amazing. I cant thank them enough for all their help with my old Yorkie as well as my two current ones. Thank you Dr. Loeven and everyone at Middlebury Animal Hospital for everything!

Absolutely disgusted with this hospitals lack of compassion. I went in with a sick 5 week old puppy that a friend had found late at night and they turned us away because we didnt have an appointment. It was an emergency, and I came in first thing in the morning and waited for them to open. I offered to leave my credit card and leave the puppy there for whenever the doctor had a chance to get to her. The puppy was severely dehydrated and had diarrhea. If you have an emergency, do NOT bring your dog here. You could be wasting precious time as time is crucial in emergencies. I ended up driving 5 miles from Middlebury Animal Hospital to Sherman Hill animal hospital and was welcomed with open arms. They took my puppy in immediately upon arrival while I filled out paperwork.

I have been taking my mini schnauzer to Dr. Loeven for over eight years. The doctor and staff are always very pleasant and helpful. I recently had to take Grissom in for surgery and everyone was so reassuring. Dr. Loeven always calls right after a procedure is completed to let you know how your pet is doing. He takes his time answering your questions and is very attentive. I highly recommend Middlebury Animal Hospital!
