Unlike many of these reviews, our family experience was not the same. After twenty years of being with the Stein Dental Group, we recently made the decision to change practices. Not any easy decision, but sometimes there is more to professionalism than just the work being done on your teeth. The office lacks professionalism starting with the front desk that more times than none is less than warm and receptive and continually discusses your personal information in front of others in the waiting room. The hygenists are trained to up sell by telling you that your x-rays show you need to see other specialists within the practice - totally out of line for someone cleaning your teeth and not trained to diagnose. While it is nice to have a full dental team under one roof, it does not mean that you have that many things wrong in your mouth that you have to have procedures done by each and every one of them. You begin to feel like you are part of an assembly line! All of this coupled with a few bad dental procedures over the past year have made us revisit whether we wanted to continue with this group. We have made Dr. Stein aware of our dissatisfaction many times over the years, but nothing changes, so we felt we had to make the change ourselves.

I started going to The Stein Dental Group in my mid-teens (over 15 years ago). When I say I was petrified of the dentist, thats an understatement. I would cry at cleanings and have panic attacks the night before my appointments. Im glad that now that Im in my thirties, I have no fear at all. In my many years of going to this group, I have gotten tons of work done: from cleanings, mouth guards for teeth grinding, fillings, retainers, root canals, wisdom teeth pulled, implants, etc. Every single thing Ive had done has been with such professionalism and extreme care. Everyone there is professional and takes their job seriously. Theyre friendly and flexible, as well. Since I grind my teeth so hard at night, I sometimes wake up with that feeling of "Man, my jaw really hurts", and theyve always fit me in for last minute "Im worried I chipped something!" appointments. Now that I have a little boy of my own, I send him there as well. He totally loves going: they have games and toys for kids, and are extremely gentle. I will NEVER go anywhere else for my dental needs. Special kudos to Dr. C and Dr. Lane (oral surgeon)!

I have been a regular client of The Stein Dental Group for quite a few years now. Ive had cleanings, crowns, root canals and even some gum work done there so Ive met a lot of people and had a lot of services. For each service Ive had only the most professional of treatment. Dr. Stein in particular is always concerned with my satisfaction with their work. Ive never had any particular type of work "pushed" on me. If theres been any treatment thats been recommended, its been made very clear to me why and whether or not this may be urgent or could be put off for a while. The office has always been very patient with what Im sure is a very painful insurance process and has always been very reasonable about billing. When I first started going to The Stein Dental Group, they were close to where I worked. Ive since moved further away and work in an entirely different direction. Because my experience there has been so good, theres been no question that Id continue to drive to Stamford for dental care.

In the three months of being a patient there, they rescheduled on me three times. The day before my first appointment for a cleaning they rescheduled since they would be down a hygienist. They told me I needed to get my wisdom teeth out and had to schedule an appointment with the oral surgeon Dr. Lane. The first appointment I got a call the week before saying he needed to leave early that day and we had to reschedule. They called me a week later stating they had some openings that day which I stated I could come in. An hour before the appointment they called to cancel stating Dr. Lane had a dental emergency. At this point, I went to another office, Long Ridge Dental. They were able to fit me in within two weeks and scheduled an appointment to get them removed the next month. Dr. Lane comes in twice a week and he never could meet with me but Dr. B at Long Ridge works once a month and was able to help ASAP. I cancelled all my further appointments at Stein Dental Group and will not be going back.

I am new to dental insurance and was completely unaware that I didnt have any a $20 copay like at the doctors office. I woke up last Saturday morning with severe pain shooting up the left side of my face. I went on to my dental insurance website and was referred to The Stein Dental Group, I called them at 8am and was seen by 8:30. They took x-rays and it was established that I needed a root canal, which also meant that I needed to restore the tooth. All of this was going to cost me a bit out of pocket due to dental insurance and copay percentages. A woman named JoAnne, sat down with me, explained my options and worked within my budget to make this happen. I left on Saturday with my pain gone and saw Dr. Fong for the root canal and Dr. Patti for the crown on Monday. I have an appointment to follow up in two weeks. I am very happy with the service I received and look forward to working with them in the future. Thank YOU!!!!

The Stein Dental Group is the best Dentist and Orthodontist group I have ever been to! The staff is friendly and attentive. The office is always clean, bright and cheerful. Our 4 kids love the free video games, pinball and driving games. The kids feel safe and secure in the dentist chair. My son had his front teeth knocked out when he was 2, and the staff made him so comfortable and happy that it is a joy to take him to the dentist, when others in the same situation might be fearful. Dr Patti is the worlds best dentist. My daughter is so inspired, that she wants to be a dentist when she grows up! When she had to have 4 baby teeth pulled, everyone made her feel like a celebrity. She was proud instead of scared. Dr Crew was terrific with our older sons expander and made every visit an easy experience. I refer all my friends to The Stein Dental Group. It is a wonderful group of people.

I couldnt be happier with this dental group. My experiences have been with Dr. C and Dr. Rallo and they are truly awesome. What I observe in the Stein office is consistent attention to respect and careful attention to their clients. It is a quality that lacks in most businesses nowadays. I was so thrilled when I noticed this is the norm for this office. They have a sincere and warm approach when speaking with their clients. It is very clear that their office culture is based on kindness and respect. I love that. What else can you ask for from your dentist!!. I work in a company with a similar policy, no time for attitudes. Stein certainly does not hire "attitude". OH yes and their dental service...incredible. All of my dental work was handled with the greatest of care and patience. They rock! Just walk in and see :)
