I brought my Cocker Spaniel, Will, to Dr. March for a consult about his severe neck pain. The pain was so severe that our primary care provider had recommended referral to a specialist, which is how we found Dr. March. When we first went to Dr. March, Will could not move without screaming in pain. Dr. March expertly and gently examined him, then patiently explained his diagnosis and treatment options. He never rushed, and never pushed us to make a decision we were uncomfortable with. It was clear that he obviously cared deeply about the outcome for our family member. We decided on a treatment plan we were all comfortable with. I am happy to report Will has made a full recovery! Dr. March has been there every step of the way, calling to check on him often, and is as happy as we are with the results! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. March, he is truly exceptional and talented vet who truly cares about the well-being of pets. I highly recommend him.

I brought my cat (Vlad) here for a surgery a few months ago and surgeon Dr Janet Welch was awesome. My cat had presumably gotten hit by a car, and had a dislocated hind leg. The emergency vet I saw at a different vet had attempted to pop his leg back into his hip, but she concluded he would need surgery to fix it. I brought my cat into Veternary Specialists and Dr Welch examined him and exlained to me the surgery he would need. She was also very friendly and comforting. On the day of the surgery she called before, during, and immediately after surgery. It was great to be updated at those times as I was worried about my cat. The surgery went great and now my cat is perfectly healed, without even a limp. Thank you Dr Janet Welch

Dr. Gustafson (known as Dr. Gus) has been the best vet my dog has seen in a lifetime where hes had four or five? My dog is very, very old -- at least 17, maybe 18 -- and maybe nine months ago had a bad mouth infection (hes gotten too old to have teeth cleanings). I thought it was the end. My little dog was drooling blood and clearly in a bad way. Dr. Gus asked if he was still eating, and when I said yes, he said lets try an antibiotic shot. It cleared it right up, and he has had many good days since then, even running many days! I think many vets would have suggested it was time to put a 16 to 17 year old dog down. I highly recommend Dr. Gus.

Vet. Specialists of CT took in our cat after hours and performed an emergency surgery minutes after we arrived. Dr. Usechak was great to work with, he has great bedside manner and provided multiple phone calls to keep us informed on the condition of our cat. The staff was great and I appreciate that they provided a follow up call to check on the cat after we took him home. The cost estimate Dr. Usechak provided was lower than another hospital we checked with and they actually came in below that cost estimate.

Worst receptionist service ever. Wouldnt give me details regrading Dr. on call or even provide their own name. Extremely unprofessional. Brought our cat in near death me they couldnt coordinate even finding feline blood for a transfusion in all of CT. Had to have the cat put down due to their incompetence. Dr. went so far as to walk out of the room in the middle of us asking questions. Take your pet somewhere else for treatment. A degree from Tufts is apparently not only overpriced but useless IMHO.

It is time to move on to a new veterinary practice. After just moving to the area we gave Vetspecs a try for six months. I will keep it simple and to the point - In my opinion the communication and personal touch aspects of this facility are not what we are used to for the care for our dog. I am not saying the veterinarians are not technically capable but the facility seems to be run on more of a corporate mindset with a high fee structure.

Eight weeks ago I Brought my dog here with a ruptured disc Did emergency surgery right away. Thank god for this emergency center. If we did not bring our dog in when we did he would have been paralyzed permanently. Our dog is now using his back legs with still a little wobble but with time and our care he will make a full recovery. Barb the therapist is so devoted to the animals and is a sweetheart. Honest, competent staff. The majority of Veterinarians are Tufts educated. For serious pet ailments, this is the place to go. I was recommended by the Vernon VCA to come here for an overnight stay for my cat. The lab results came back negative meaning my cat recovered from his infection so I took my cat home the same day. I recommend this office to owners with pets in need of urgent care.

Dr. March is just a fantastic contact to have for active/athletic dogs. Extremely knowledgeable, very patient making sure the diagnosis and rehabilitation are fully understood and executed, and works in the digital world via email and YouTube. Very rarely would I give a full 5 start rating, but this was a pretty easy decision. Hes just that good and cares for our dogs that much.

We have an English mastiff who a a severe knee problem , our vet had said our Maggie was too old to handle surgery. We brought her to see Dr Welch who put her through a battery of tests and said shes healthy as a horse, she performed the operation and it was a huge success and with the help of physical therapist Barbara she is back to normal, this place is a 10 in my book

They are probably the best specialty veterinars in the state. My dog has had 3 surgeries now and numerous other issue which other local vet offices could not pinpoint. I have been very pleased with expertise and experience here...escecially Dr.Berzon is highly recommended.
