Doctors name and number was provided by my insurance company. Called the office to verify that they took our insurance. Explained vision concerns CLEARLY before making the appointment. We drove 40 miles (one way!) to see this doc. After arriving, we were informed that the bill would not be processed under our vision benefits which we had 100% coverage. Instead, they intended to bill our health insurance...which now required a $50 co-pay. When questioned, the elderly woman became EXTREMELY rude and arrogant. She informed us that we neglected to tell them we had vision benefits...LOL! Seriously, come on! After reminding her of the actual conversation, SHE confessed that she had no idea what was said because she didnt take the call. But yet she can tell us WE NEGLECTED to tell them about our insurance?! She goes on to explain that the doctor we are scheduled to see does not take our insurance but several of their others do. First, why is he on our list of providers? Second, why were we scheduled with this person if you knew he didnt accept our insurance when several of your other docs did? Regardless of the attitude and bad information, we were willing to go through the medical insurance & pay the $50 co-pay. BUT WAIT!! We were then told that if a prescription was needed, it will cost us another $40. We clarified..You bill our health insurance and collect a $50 co-pay and if glasses are needed you are going to bill us another $40 to have your doctor write a script? HER ANSWER: YES! Hmmm, we made an appointment to check the vision, wouldnt one think you would walk out with a prescription if needed? Her resolution was to see the specialist so he could address any of our concerns and if he found that glasses were needed, we could come back to see one of their other docs and bill it all under our vision plan. Double Dippin, eh? I stated that done of this was explained to us. We drove 40 miles..one way! Missed half a day of work and school for nothing. I told her that I wanted to see a doctor who would except our insurance. She looked straight at me and said "no, you ARE going to see Dr. so & so or you can leave and go somewhere else". We chose to leave. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Three Things Went Very Wrong - New Client 1) There are quite a few different facilities that you might be assigned to as a new client and this they didnt disclose. When I called and made my appointment, the closest available date was two months out for new clients. Upon making the appointment I was told the doctors name and appointment time, but not the location. I was left to assume the location was the one I called and this was wrong. I didnt find out until two days before the appointment where the location was and this was through my insurance provider! 2) Two days before the appointment I called to confirm. They had problems running my insurance. I ended up having to call my provider and they in turn got in touch with Florida Eye Clinic and had to fax over what should have same up on the computer. My insurer at this time informed me that my appointment was not at the same facility that I called to make the appointment. This also took 45min of my time while at work! 3) The morning of the appointment I showed up early and fill out my paperwork etc. Upon calling me back the tech stops short and says, "You havent come here for contacts have you?" Of course that was precisely the reason why I came there and they knew that! Someone dropped the ball and scheduled me on a day that the contact lens specialist was elsewhere. I took the day off to come there but ended up getting refunded for my co-pay and walking out. I will not go back there. Conclusion: This is a very loose organization. This is an organization of care free people. They are not detailed oriented. While I was waiting for my appointment two other people also left for different reasons in frustration and one old lady went slap off on a very slack receptionist. There attitude is "We are sorry for the mistake. Oh well, … water under the bridge." Apparently they are making enough money to not have to worry about the large percentage of people they disappoint. Three mistakes before I even make the doctor.

I went to the Michigan office for an eye exam. The Doctor, Ricardo Alonso, was a nice guy and I believe he gave me a thorough exam. My issues all stemmed with the optical department. I am farsighted and I told the woman working in the optical dept that in the past i always needed High Index lenses. She talked me into getting Polycarbonate lenses saying they would be fine and also cheaper. Two weeks later when the glasses finally came in, they were not right. Because of the polycarbonate, I had this strange warping on the edge of the lens and my peripheral vision was blurred. When I told this to the woman (the same one who ordered them) she told me I would "get used to that." I said I didnt want to get used to it, I wanted to see clearly. She gave me attitude and claimed she only ordered "what I told her to." No apology, no nothing. She sent the glasses back in. Two weeks later they come back -- a month has now gone by and I was still without new glasses. I go in and the lenses, now High Index, are fine but the glasses are too loose. She made one adjustment and they were still loose. So, rather than trying to fix them, she said I needed different frame arms. I said what? cant you try to adjust them? She refused to do any more adjustments and ordered new frame arms. She said itd only take a day. So, when I called the next day to see if the glasses were in I was shocked to learn it would be another two weeks! I told her that Id never had such difficulty getting a pair of glasses in my life and she hung up on me! I was insensed! Ive never ever been treated so poorly. I had to call the office manager, who had to speak to the doctor, and I am now awaiting a refund. Unreal. Ive never been treated like this. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

On about January 2016 I came to the Florida eye clinic to see Dr. Peter GRUENBERG in order to have an eye exam. After a complete I examined by the Dr. I had received the prescription for my glasses which was determined that it was lacking some important information. Prior to the examination I provided to the Dr. with the results of another eye exam that was done few days before which had the correct prescription. For over a year I sustain headaches and blurry vision due to the fact that I had prepared and made new glasses based on the prescription that I received from the Dr. in which he did not specify the stigmatism. On January 2017 I advised Florida eye clinic about the mistake that they had made and was told that it was a clerical error and an oversight by the Dr. I was also told that the nurse that had written the prescription is no longer with Florida eye and they have no idea where she moved to. It was the responsibility over the Dr. to oversee that the correct prescription will be prescribed. I filed a complaint with Florida Department of Health and was advised by them that the wrong prescription was given due to a clerical error and oversight by the Dr. I also filed a complaint with Florida Department of agriculture and consumer services and was advised that Florida eye clinic chose not to respond to my allegations and to the department. I will never recommend to anyone that facility.
