I visited the ER last night. The night before, I experienced abdominal pain and went to see my primary care doctor. She sent me for bloodwork and an ultrasound. She called me around 5pm and told me my kidneys were swollen and my spleen was enlarged and to see a urologist right away - going to the ER if I had to. She wanted the ER to admit me to manage my pain while I waited to see the urologist. Instead, the doctor (Dr. Chapel), refused to listen to me. He did order a CT scan which showed my spleen and kidneys "slightly" enlarged, but said they werent big enough to admit to the hospital. Meanwhile, I was steadily at an 8 or 9 on the pain scale and the meds were not helping. When my sister tried to tell him what my doctor said, instead of listening, he started questioning how we were related and said things like "you guys dont look a like". At that point, it just felt like a battle of wills between him and my sister and he almost seemed to forget about me completely. He wrote my pain off as muscle pain, even though its stabbing, shooting, consistent. He also prescribed the same medicine I told him didnt work for the pain. And sent me home still at a 9 for pain; I was writhing and crying. He told me he would call the urologist and get me an appointment today. Today, I called the urologist. Theres no record of him trying to make the appointment for me. Im still in an immense amount of pain, and they cant guarantee Ill be seen today. I cant even drive, let alone work, with the amount of pain Im in. I can barely get out of bed to use the restroom. I came to the ER under doctors orders to get help, and instead Dr. Chapel treated me like an inconvenience, refusing to listen to my primary care doctor or anyone else. He just wanted to be right.

My father was taken in here on a Wednesday and I was right there when the nurse told him hed be kept in the room he was in, and released the following morning. In the middle of the night, they told my father that he was going to a different floor. He had to use the bathroom first and he fell (he has a deteriorating spine and 2 artifical knees). One of the male nurses went to "help" him up, but yelled at him in his face to get up and proceeded to pull my fathers arm. He did not end up helping him up, he ended up dragging my father across the floor. My dad asked him his name, and he left the room. He went to ask the security guard if he saw what happened, and he told my father that he didnt see anything. He then went to the nurse at the desk and asked her, her name and she said to him "oh no, were not playing that game. I didnt see anything." And hour after this occurrence, probably around 2am, they transported him to Tampa....reasons unbeknownst to us. He had no shoes, no shirt, no shorts...nothing. He was finally discharged today from Tampa, 5 days later instead of 24 hours like the nurse had stated. This is a terrible facility for anyone in need of emergent care...or any care for that matter. I would not come to this facility if I was dying. Do yourself a favor and avoid this "hospital". The staff are nothing but liars and they dont care about their patients well being. They suck!!!!

I have had many tests and lab work performed at this facility over the past few years and have had a significant number of bills that have been paid. The testing is superb as is the staff but the tactics and philosophy of the billing entity has left a terrible taste in my mouth! I am a proud woman who prides herself in paying all of her bills on time. I had a test performed on 3/9/12, received a bill (dated 3/31/12) on or about 4/7/12 in the amount of 320.57. On 4/17/12 I mailed a check for 150.00 and a note stating that the full balance would be paid within 30 days. To me, that was responsible arrangements. I then received a letter dated 4/26/12 thanking me for my "partial" payment and informing me that my account needed to be paid in full and that failure to do so WOULD (not COULD mind you) result in outside collection efforts. Are you kidding me?! I only wish I had all the money Ive paid to the MPM facilities over the past couple of years. Care should be taken to know your customers better. I resent this form letter enough to consider not using the facility in the future and that is really too bad!

On 5/10/12 I went to the ER for an allergic reaction to some medication I had been prescribed. The nurses were extremely rude, the PA was very condescending and even said verbatim, "We would like to keep our customers happy". What happened to being a patient and keeping them well? The bedside manner was terrible. The PA disclosed a finding from a test with me from across the hallway, wasnt even in the room. I could hear clear as day a woman being told she has tumors because that doctor was also half in the hall way. Each side effect I was experiencing was tested for an infection or disease, after each one came back negative, and even some came back clearly as an allergic reaction, they told me I have anxiety and to go home. We waited for 3 hours after being told that I was going to be discharged before anyone came into the room again, (maybe because I declined a CAT scan?) Still suffering through with these side effects as I type this from home.

They got me in quickly for an Epidural. We got it approved with the insurance company. I was in with a technician for 5 min got on a table a doctor came in administered a steroid shot using a guide he said was like a GPS to find the correct spot to stop the pain which is from L-4 L-5. It was a good outcome however the charges were exceptionally high compared to what others charge . According to the insurance company and MAP Medical advocacy Program a service provided by my employer. I have tried for two weeks to discuss the bill you can forget speaking to anyone totally frustrated, left message for the Hospital admin so far no return calls. Thus good marks and bad mark.
