I highly recommend Family Dental Care for all of your mouths needs!! I had two crowns done in 2015 that just didnt feel right; I felt a constant pressure. I spoke to the dentist that had done the work and they kept telling me there was nothing wrong, that I should see the Endodontist that had done the root canals. I went to see the Endodontist who did X-rays and said, "Everything looks good. There is nothing I can do, if the pressure continues to bother you, the next step would be to pull the teeth and put in implants." Implants was not something I wanted to do so I went and saw a THIRD dentist for another opinion. Although she did try to resolve the issue for me, she had no success and suggested I get a CT scan. I was at my whits end, when a friend suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Akel at Family Dental Care to see what he had to say. I hated the thought of having to see a FOURTH dentist and to make matters worse, that was 45 minutes from my house. I reluctantly scheduled an appointment thinking, "What can Dr.Akel tell me or do that the other dentists havent already?” Scheduling that appointment was the best thing I could have done!!! Once I explained the whole situation to Dr. Akel, he smiled and said, "I wish you would have come in sooner so I could have saved you all of this trouble. Your issue is that you grind your teeth, all you need is night guard." I was fitted for a night guard and a week later I was picking it up. Once I started sleeping with the night guard, the pressure I was feeling started to go away and was completely gone within the month. I couldnt be happier!!! Not only is Dr. Akel a life saver, his staff is amazing and their Saturday hours make scheduling my appointments a breeze!! Dr.Akel is now my dentist and I gladly travel the distance is to ensure Im in amazing hands.

Went in for a deep cleaning and was out within 10 minutes(too fast for a deep cleaning I needed). Wasted $85 because my teeth were not even cleaned. The hygienist just scrapped around my gums with the sharp needle-like tool and rinse my mouth out with water !! And it didnt seem like she touched my back teeth at all. That was definitely the last time im going there because it wasnt high quality cleaning. Im used my hygenist actually taking her time to thoroughly clean every inch of my mouth to prevent any possible harm to my oral health and that usually takes 30 minutes, not 10. It takes me 10 minutes just to brush, floss, and rinse... Let alone get a DEEP CLEANING!!! My teeth were not cleaned properly and i was just rushed out of the chair so that the next client wouldnt have to wait so long.

My husband my kids and I came to this office last week, everything was amazing from the costumer service skills over the phone when I made the appointment until the moment we left !The staff is very friendly and Dr.Akel is awesome very efficient and professional (really cares about his patients ) , my 12 year old twins were always afraid of the dentist( not anymore )my husband and I got our work done in just a "Few Hours " ,I have no words enough to describe how happy and thankful My family and I feel with all of you for taking for very good care of us,once again thanks Dr akel for all your effort ,I would totaly recomend Family Dental Care,(they also have Saturday appointments !).

The staff and the owner Akel Bassil is horrible. The wait was an hour pass my appointment and the hygienists didnt even do all the steps for cleaning, I had to remind her and she had an attitude. Im asking questions and Akel had an attitude as if I wasnt in title to do so. He was so inpatient how could he, when Im the one who waited an hour pass my appointment the hygienists wasnt doing her job right and Akel was with a rude nasty facial expression. All the staff are horrible from the receptionist to the owner Akel Bassil NO ONE SHOULD COME TO THIS LOCATION whether I pay out of pocket or have insurance the way they treat people are the worst and Im surprised he still in business!!!!

Be aware that, although their website says that they "work with all Insurance Companys [sic]," this office in fact (as of today, 29 Sept) does not accept all insurance plans. I was told a few minutes ago that they do not accept Healthplex America/Solstice plans. They may or may not be a great office; I wasnt given an opportunity to assess their service. However, I had to give a star rating in order to post this...so make your own decision about their service (as long as you have insurance that they accept)!

He is a money hungry dentist....He ran up my insurance ...He act very kind but trust and believe its all money....pulled seven of my teeth then had me walking around all summer 4 months with no teeth...He did not tell me what he was going to do because he put things in dentist talk....Im waiting to see his practice on the news because he Will meet the right person who wont play his games...he is a scam...appointments,never on time,etc....use at your own risk...no good

This place sucks I had to leave work at 2.30 to make a 3.30 appointment. I got there a little early filled out the paper work which included something if you cancled on the day of your appointment they would charge you 50 dollars.at 4.05. I still hadnt seen the dentist There were at least five other people still waiting. I left. There are at least 1600 DENTIST IN THE FT LAUDERDALE AREA. My time and yours are just as important as theres

I loved the office and the staff at family dental care! Coming from a medical office, I know what it takes to have good customer service.They were very friendly and caring. Dr Akel is the best. He was very gental during my crown procedure. I will be sending all my patients to his office. Thank you so much!! See you in six months dr.

Dr. Bassill is the best pediatric/family dentist Ive encountered! Family Dental is Very kid friendly. ALL procedures were clearly explained to my satisfaction prior to work being done. All patients are allowed to be accompanied by one person. Appointment times are set to meet patients needs. Best of all, there are Saturday hours.

Just left this office. It was amazing got right in to see the doctor even tho I was a walk in but since I was in pain, they took care of me right away. I had my tooth taken out and it didnt hurt at all. Im feeling better already.. Great dentist and staff!!!

Dr.Akel is the best dentist I have been to. I came to his office through Groupon. Fell in love with the office. Pablo, is the assistant always attending me. Great attitude and performance. The manager as well as the other staff are patient friendly.

I have seen Dr. Akel for over 2 years already and the experience has always been pleasurable. I was there with my 3 kids last week and the Dr and the staff were very nice. The place is clean and they are on time for the appotments. Very recomended!
