My nurse Megan cares more obout straightening her hair and her burn on her forehead more than the patients, then wants to talk smack about you, but little did she know I was listening. Made sure not to have her back in my room..3 hours late on my meds and you have an attitude, ,not in my room ,so i had to fire her. its like jail ,they wont let you out for anything, if you want fresh air you must re do the whole process starting from er ,so basically they check you out . Man doctor in the er has no clue ,was in the process of telling me we cant find anything and your all good to go home,,,until my nurse finally remembered to tell him the issue she witnessed, ,,then suddenly I was to sick to leave and was admitted ....place is a joke ,I should have listened to the local people and went to Ocala...Sara the shift leader was on top of her game and somewhat understood the issue with the nurse so she sent another one in with a worse attitude, not sure what her name was ,she made sure to tell me that she was an independent and didnt work for the the hospital,so she makes the rules I asked her to please just give me my med that are 3 hours late , ,,oh thats not how we are going to do this ...she sat there antagonizing me with non related comments until the head nurse walked by and overheard her rudeness ,only when the head nurse came in did she quiet down and give me my meds. After she tried to lie her way out of the conflict that she started as soon as she walked in. .I asked for neither of the two nurses to be aloud back in my room,,Judy the nurses helper is awesome sweet and understanding as well as very helpful, ,,but by now..I am almost to the point of walking out and going to Ocala hospital, I got here at 6pm yesterday the nurse in the er,Jenell was the best nurse I was able to meet in the hospital, actually the best nurse I ever met,she made me smile ,gave me a hug when leaving and just showed me real care like my mother or good friend would have ,I am very happy to have met her,I highly recommend her but not the hospital in general, and I have only been here 24 hours ,its more like a jailhouse than a hospital .my activities are listed as "bathroom privilege " ,wow ,,,what a joke. if I wasnt in so much pain I would have left already. I also asked how long I would be here she said probably all week as doctors dont work on weekends.. great ...just..great ..I will be adding more to this review as I feel fit,,,OK so end result was I was escorted out, on pain med and a adavan, told to leave and drive my semi truck home ,I will be calling lawyers ,corporate, bbb,who ever I can get on the phone...not over yet Citrus Memorial hospital citrusmemorialhospital

This hospital has LONG wait times for the ER Dept. We are talking 6 to 24 hours till people are seeing Doctors and these people are dealing with life threatening emergencies who are waiting this long. Of course this isnt all the time but it seems to happen more then it should. I know stroke victims who waited 4 hours till tests were started. (Uhm after 3 hours its too late to give them medicine to stop the stroke) This person left after 4 hours because she couldnt wait in the ER no more on their hard chairs. Another stroke victim waited 12 hours till she saw an ER doctor. A heart attack patient waited 24 hours till he saw an ER doctor. A lady who had walking pnemoniia and a massive kidney infection waited 13 1/2 hours and a man with the flu waited 13 hours -- they were left to sleep in the ER waiting room all that time but the problem was the hospital didnt separate them or ask them to wear a mask so not to spread there germs on others waiting. An unconscience person woke up right as they got into the ER parking lot from having a seziure - something they never had before. It took that person 3 hours to see an ER doctor. I went there and waited 9 hours to see an ER doctor. While there I watched the elderly slouching in wheel chairs because the were too weak and tired to sit upright. They were vomiting continually on themselves and Crying from the pain they were in. Those people waited 10 hours till there were taken to the back. It was heart wrenching. When I got to the back myself most of the ER staff were telling jokes to each other or eating and acting like it was just another slow night in the ER even though people were crying in pain just on the other side of the ER walls. When I called I found out they do not have a Stroke Treatment Center as there phone book ads says but in fact its an NTU treatment floor and team. Someone in that team told me that the reason for the long waits lately are because the Snowbirds havent gone home yet. She said that CMH isnt big enough to deal with both Citrus County residents and the Snowbirds that visit here half the year. She said if they would go home then our wait times would go down drastically. How unprofessional is that? Thats a terrible thing to say. Not to mention the ER wait times are too long! Save a life and go to a different hospital!!!

This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a Hospital. Its safe to say in the future I wouldnt even bring my dog to this place. After arriving by ambulance with head trauma and laceration to my face along with other injures I did not get my sutures placed until about 4 hours after being there! When I was taken back for radiographs of my hand its a good thing I was coherent because the tech was setting up to take an X-ray of the wrong hand ( left ) and when I told him he proceeds to argue with me about what my "chart says" but with very apparent reasons it was the opposite hand ( right ) I was in an atv accident.I was never asked if I had recently had a tetanus shot and they did not place me on any antibiotics! Before I was discharged I asked for post operative instructions. When I get home I reviewed the paper work I was sent home with and it was some ones elses paper work with all of there information on it!! CAN YOU SAY HIPPA VIOLATION!!! 5 days later I returned to remove my sutures because I do not have a primary dr. At this visit I was told that my wound was now infected and now they place me on antibiotics. I asked them to take a second look at my hand and give me a splint or something because it is still extremely painful. They once again tell me it is not broken but I never once got to see an actual Dr and now I am going to see a specialist because I may have a torn ligament in my thumb!! Guess what ? They never even mentioned something like that to me. Four days after suture removal Im cleaning up my wound very gently and guess what?? The lady whom removed my sutures forgot one!! I am in total disbelief of the incompetence of every single person I have encountered at this place! I will be in contact with my insurance company to discuss the charges since the care that I received was in no way acceptable!
