They killed my mother. We arrived at 6pm and prior to my Mom being there she was on oxygen at Carrollwood Florida Hospital (who took excellent care of her). I begged staff to evaluate her and it took over 2 hours to see her. Moms roommate had arrived 20 minutes before us. The floor was riddled with medical litter and the trash can was overflowing with garbage. (It was about 4 days before they swept the floor) This tells me, obviously, that they didnt clean the room before they brought us in. I came in the next day and Moms bed was pushed against the wall. I asked why and I was told that her bed rail was broken and they didnt want her to fall out. Moms roommates family had been raising hell because they were not attending to her. Her roommate had numerous blood transfusions and staff would come in and throw the blood bag on my Moms tray that Mom ate her meals off of. Dont know what happened to her but she was being moved to ICU when my mom was being moved to Hospice. I spent a lot of time there. Constantly told them to empty her drain tube, and when i wasnt there to tell them, she would be soaked when i got there. It was awful. One of the male nurses would tell me how he kept calling the doctor but he wouldnt respnd. My grandfather died there back in 1983 when it was Central Español Hospital. I believe my Mom may have been in the same bed her father died in. I havent seen beds like that since the 80s. If you want to live, do not go to Kindred! Staff is not attentive and no one there cares what happens to your loved one. My Mom died and I blame Kindreds care, because honestly there was NO CARE!

My mom was there for about a month before being removed from the ventilator and passing. The CNAs dont know what the hell they are doing. There were two nurses who did their job well name Kristal and a male nurse name Joel. My moms blood pressure was in the 87/53 range before someone did anything and that was Kristal. After we decided to take my mom off the ventilator, the male nurse Joel was very comforting to my mom and family. There was a huge communication issue amongst the staff. We scheduled the termination of the breathing machine for 10 am but the process started around 3:00pm. Once the breathing tube was out, the minister was to come in and say a prayer but didnt arrive until 6:30pm as I was leaving. The reason I left was because the cardiologist walked in not knowing we had decided to do a termination of life, checked my mom and said mom was doing better. I immediately got excited since 30 minutes prior I filed paperwork for a death certificate and to hear my mom is doing better I was very confused. I dont blame the cardiologist because the 6 nurses that was sitting at the nurses station gossiping should have stopped him and told him what was going on before he came in with semi great news for a half of a second. Once he was told what was going on, he quickly said even though my mom was doing better, nothing has changed and she will soon pass. Talk about an emotional moment. I was so confused, I had to come home and take a xanax because I was so shaken up. Please, please do not send your family here if you love them

I really dont want to give them a 1 star. My husband was forced to go there from the Drs at Florida Hospital of zephryhill. He was told that if he did not go by the Nurse manager on med surg 3 that she would have him escorted out of the Hospital there in Zephryhills when he still needs 4 more weeks of medication to clear up an infection. We got to Kindred Hospital at 4:00 the clinical liaison told us we would have a private room so I could stay with my husband that we did not get. They did not feed him supper. The day nurse went and got him a peanut butter sandwich for supper. He was due to get his meds at 8:00 that he did not get until 11p.m. I was give a metal folding chair to sit in and was told I could not stay in the room with him. He pushed the call light and waited an hour and a half before anyone came in to see what we needed and had wait another half an hour before his Nurse came in. All my husband kept asking me was to take him home and by 12:30 a.m I had Medical transport there to get us out of this place. I will never bring another one of my family members here again. I had read Other peoples reviews and was hoping this place would take the concerns serious and make it better but they havent.

My mother was just released from there yesterday. The last 3 days that I visited her, she was laying in her own soil. Yesterday, when I came in I smelt poop upon entering her room, I asked her nursing staff to check her at 3:00. Finally, at 5:00 I undressed my mom. Her undergarments were so soiled, they overflowed all the way up to her hair. Her pjs were wet both front and back. She didnt want me (her baby ) washing her private places. Although we continuously called and intercepted staff; including pressing the code button, it still took an extra half-hour for someone to wash the poop from her crevices. Good news is. ..theyve released her. The bad news is (as if there could be more ), she was discharged with only half of the prescriptions she needs. When I called them back they assured me it would be handled. Today they called me at 12:30 to say, "have her primary doctor handle it ". Jokes on us.. primary care closes at 12:00.

When the Rehab Team walked into my room the first time, I had a really positive feeling. I was elated that something good was going to happen other than me laying on my back in a bed and I felt that it was freedom. Something was going to happen that would give me more freedom that just laying on my back, and I was right. They placed me in a lift and lifted me in the air and placed me in a chair and it was pure freedom! I felt safe from day 1 and continue to today. They are kind to me, they all went above what they had to do almost every time, they do things for me that the nurses ordinarily do and they dont leave me without making sure I am comfortable. They dont ever walk out. Im specifically referring to Ryan singson, Jen kearns, john Courtney, Chandra Y., and Eugene. I would highly recommend this team to my family and friends! They have helped in giving me a positive attitude because of their care. Elvira Moore

If I could give them negative stars I would. My mother was 48 years old and passed away because of the incompetent doctors and nursing staff. She suffered. Was bleeding internally. Had multiple strokes while in their care. Sat for days in a coma needing dialysis until we eventually fought and fought our way to speak to the CEO and got her out of there. Upon arriving to Florida Hospital Tampa we found out all of these things that Kindred had no clue about in their so called "ICU" my mother passed shortly after and I am just thankful she was in a good place and out of this hell hole. Currently preparing to report them to the state and actively trying to sue this place. They are a disgrace to medical care. When she arrived here she was on the mend and supposed to receive rehab services and come home. 16 days later she was dead. If you love your family member DO NOT send them here. It is the biggest regret of my life.
