My family has been going to Town Center Family for years. While nobody likes to have go to the doctor, the people there were always extremely courteous and took great care of our family. Over the last year 2014-2015, the quality of service, and more importantly the quality of care from the doctors, has started to decline. Both of the Physicians we had been seeing for so many years have now left. Their replacements seem to be less experienced Primary Care Physicians, and seem to be using their computers to diagnose and treat patients, instead of using their experience and training. While polite, they refuse to prescribe the proper medications to treat illness, which caused our family of 6 to have had to make multiple visits to get our symptoms treated properly. As a family that struggles with chronic allergies, and hence end up with sinus infections usually once a year, we are quite familiar with the symptoms and treatments that have worked for so many years at Town Center Family. However, regardless of the data on file, explaining the symptoms and previous treatments that worked, we were told that it was not what we said it was and not everyone was given the antibiotics we needed after trying to treat with home remedies for 1-2 weeks. While I was given what I requested (after insisting), I was told not to come back in a week and ask for more antibiotics and that my son didnt need one because it was viral but would give the rest of us antibiotics anyway. My son has since been suffering with chest congestion and cough for at least a month, the antibiotics prescribed to my wife and I, and to our other children by their pediatrician, have worn off. My son is still sick, needed an antibiotic from the beginning, and is now getting everyone else sick for another round of this. Of course, Dr Gary would like us to pay another $100 in copays in order for him to diagnose our symptoms, and is convinced that he knows better than the long time physicians we saw there for the last 5+ years, whom we never had to make repeat visits for the same illnesses once treated back then. Long story short, even existing patients with all their medical history on file, expect to make multiple visits, pay multiple copays, and deal with nagging illnesses for weeks or months unnecessarily due to improper treatment and a seemingly arrogant doctor. I now have to take my entire family to urgent care on Easter weekend, thanks Dr Gary, as I refuse to give anymore money to these leaches after being put in this predicament and have an HMO, which requires me to submit the PCP before going and its too late on Good Friday to get an appointment somewhere else. Maybe if they would have called me back "within the hour" the day before, like they said they would, I could have still had time to register a different PCP and get an appointment somewhere else. Very frustrating for a family of 6, on a single income, just before I work a 12 hour night shift and try to enjoy Easter with my family. The high ratings listed for this practice were prior to Dr Hitz and Revell leaving, and I would have agreed back then. They have serious issues now, and I would recommend you go elsewhere.

My wife and I have been using this place as our primary physician for a little over a year with Dr Aguirre. Ill preface this review by saying that Aguirre is a good doctor. However, I cannot recommend this office to anyone because if the rude office staff and changing policies that are geared towards increasing office visit charges. My experience summarized is this: We visited Dr Aguirre and was given a prescription. A couple of months later my wife was having some problems with the medicines side effects, so I made another appointment to get it changed. The Dr told me that making another appointment was unnecessary and we could have just called it in. Ok, 2 months pass and I call in for another change and get met with a gatekeeper mentality from the office staff. "Our policy is that any change of medicine has to have an office visit." Obviously their front-office policy differs from the Drs policy, so I inquired who is making the policies. I was told that it was the doctors. I tell them ok, someone needs to talk to the doctor, but get more push back. I speak to the office manager and she has an attitude from the start because the doctor needs to know "WHY" (attitude and raised voice) the change is needed. This isnt really an isolated incident. Most every time I go here I get the feeling feeling that the office staff just does not want to talk to the patients (me or my wife). Even if I am the only one in the office they wont just handle everything while Im standing at the desk. I have to sit down and get call back to fill something out, then sit down again and get called to do my copay before seeing the doctor. The office staff will not look me in the eye when doing this. I love the doctor, but every other part of this business has me replacing them with someone else. Its time to find a smaller operation that actually wants a relationship with their customer.

Ill start off by agreeing with the reviewer below. Dr Aguirre was a very good doctor and I was glad to have him as my doctor. However, I am completely disappointed with the treatment Ive received from the front office staff every time Ive spoken or been to the office. They are rude, short, and seem to have no compassion for their patients. Whenever Ive called, they were rude on the phone and were always in a rush. For a simple refill of medication the Dr had already had me on I had to go back and pay $60 JUST for a refill that could have been sent over to the pharmacist. This wasnt the first time this has happened -- every time I needed a refill of a medicine Ive already been on Ive had to come back to pay for an office visit. This just seems excessive to me, especially for a self-pay patient. This makes me think that all they care about is milking money from their patients instead of making it convenient for patients to receive refills for important medication. Furthermore, they make no exceptions to any sort of personal emergencies that might conflict with your appointment. Overall I am very unhappy with the practice itself and how their policies are, but I WAS very happy with Dr Aguirre and regret that I will not be seeing him again due to switching practices.

I have been a client of Memorial Family Practice (formerly Jacksonville Family Practice) for 12 years. I have found ALL doctors to be extremely professional, courteous, knowledgeable and trusted. I have recommended several friends to this facility and will continue to do so. I used the Gate Parkway office for the first time ever on Friday, January 30th 2015 because of a virus/cough. I was greeted by a very pleasant nurse and Dr. Aguerre was also professional, and spent plenty of time reviewing my "condition/concern." I like this office due to the location (closer to home), but know I can use any of the locations due to the awesome customer service I receive at each. The nurse (I think Donna) even assisted me on the phone regarding a question on my summary. I didnt have to leave a message or wait for a call back to have my concerns addressed. Kudos to this office and Memorial Family Practice staff!
