I am a patient of Dr. Millers at the Palm Harbor office. The office is very poorly run. I had to call to remind them to get pre-authorization from my insurance prior to my appointment. They called me the day before my appointment telling me they didnt get the information from my PCP in time to complete the process. I told them that was because they didnt start the process early enough. I had the appointment for at least a month and they dropped the ball. I asked to speak to someone who could help and Kaitlin was unable to tell me who that would be. Called the main # and was told Id be transferred to the office manager. Turns out she was out for 2 more weeks. Finally was able to birddog a manager in the Largo office, Dave, who understood and agreed this was unacceptable. He lit some fires and low and behold the process was completed and I was able to keep my appointment. I explained to him and Kaitlin the importance of that as Id arranged time off for it including the next day to recover. Called prior to going to the office to see how late Dr. Miller was running because I typically wait an hour. Was disconnected both times I just went on time out of frustration. Waited an hour again. Two interns came in to discuss the procedure with me prior to Dr. Miller arriving. The second intern not realizing an intern had already been in. I pointed that out and he left. Intern #1 came back to put numbing cream on my shoulder, all of this seeming to hold me off and "entertain" me while waiting for Dr. Miller. He poked his head in to apologize for the wait and disappeared. Nurses kept coming in saying hed be in shortly and apologizing, however, this has been my experience on all 4 visits now, so this is typical. Dr. Miller seems to be a good doctor, but is spread out in so many offices (only in Palm Harbor one day a week) and always has interns shadowing him which means hes always running late and cant properly handle the patient load at each office. Hed do much better to attend fewer offices and give prompt, attentive care to each patient. I will look for a more patient-centered practice because that is in my best interest and because I want to support that type of medical practice rather than the all too common practice that revolves around those who work within it. Such a shame to see medicine become all about the practitioners and the office staff and no longer about the patients. I believe Dr. Miller is a truly caring professional and quite capable, but is simply over-looking the basics of good medicine. Patients first. Please, slow it down, focus on fewer locations and only have interns in on a schedule, not daily. I would gladly return if I saw that change and the office staff reflecting that attitude as well. I give this review to let people know what to expect as well as to offer constructive ideas for improving your practice, Bay Dermatology.

My son developed a very itchy rash which quickly spread over his entire body within a few months of scratching what he thought were mosquito bites. I took him to Bay Dermatology and by this time suspected it might be scabies mites from research I had done. The Dr told him it looked liked scabies and took a skin sample (painful), told him to wait 14 days for results and use cortisone or other over the counter for itching and sent him home with nothing. By this time he wanted to rip off his skin the itching was so bad, I started him on natural products recommended by the internet which helped a little. After 14 days the test result came back negative which I read happens very often when they do not scape the exact spot of the mite or egg. No follow-up calls to see how he was, or anything from this office CASE CLOSED! I called the next week to talk to the Manager and she made another appointment, by this time the rash had covered his entire body, including scalp and I have an outbreak from caring for him, washing clothes etc. Two very arrogant doctors look at his torso and legs which were the worst, and find out that he most likely contracted this from having unprotected sex and diagnose that it has to be a sexually transmitted disease, not even listening to me when I told them I had broken out with the same rash due to being the caregiver and exposed. You can get scabies through prolonged skin to skin contact, or infected bedding, clothes. They ordered a blood test and wrote a prescription for a anti-biotic, which may have helped a little but did nothing for the rash or itching and did not address the real problem. CASE CLOSED FOR THESE TWO MORONS! I took him to our personal Doctor who immediately diagnosed him as having scabies and prescribed the proper crème to treat this and now we are on the way to ridding him of this parasite and I am also treating myself with the proper treatment. Trust me, find another dermatologist who will diagnose your skin problem properly and care enough to follow up with you to make sure you are healing and not just want to jump to a wrong diagnosis to get you out of their office and arrogantly say CASE CLOSED! I wasted $150.00 on two office visits plus my son has a scar on the back of his leg absolutely for nothing.

First visit to a dermatologist since I moved out to the Land O Lakes area.... I was nervous at trying some place new (as prior to that I was driving to South Tampa to a place Ive been going to for years). Everything was perfect! From my initial call, all the way to end of the visit, every single person I encountered was pleasant and courteous, and the building was beautiful & pristine (waiting room, bathroom, & exam rooms, all top notch)! I scheduled a routine mole check with ARNP Cynthia Weston who was professional, approachable, super nice and kept me calm even though a couple of spots had me concerned, & one had to be removed for biopsies. No pushy sales pitches to buy products or services I did not need. Other than providing me with post-biopsy care instructions, no products were pushed at all! I cannot recommend this office enough, in terms of the medical skill and bedside manner, friendly staff and their availability to answer questions. Love this office! I will definitely come back to Bay Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery for any skin issues!

So I made an appointment to have a rash looked at on my arm. They took a biopsy and the nurse told me that it was to detect the cause of the rash. I made an appointment for 2 weeks later to get results and sat in the waiting room for an hour only to be told the results were not in and that they would call me when they received them. They then billed my insurance company for an office visit which took up my third and final visit for the year. Two more weeks go by and I call to get my results and they tell me its not cancerous and nothing about what could have caused the rash. Now they are trying to bill me for the biopsy and not to mention I had to go to a different dermatologist for something else and had to pay full price for the office visit because they used up the last of my allowed visits for the year. I called to explain the situation and the office manager was completely rude and ended up hanging up on me. Terrible experience would never recommend them to anyone. Wish I could give zero stars.
