This was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor, and this is coming from someone who has had medical experiences in developing nations. I had called for a simple pre-op appointment. I was scheduled in quickly, which at the time I appreciated, but later realized it was because Dr. Hoovers office pushes patients through as quickly as possible to get the next "paying customer" in. I was told that since I was having blood work done that I must fast before my appointment. Okay, no problem. Upon arrival at the office, I began filling out the regular paperwork and came across a form that said in order to have blood work done in the office, it was going to cost me an additional $15. This was NEVER mentioned to me before my appointment, although the blood work was necessary for my pre-op. Since my surgery was fast approaching, I had limited options to go to another facility to have my blood drawn and paid the $15. I did mention to the receptionist that it may be a good idea in the future to let patients know of the extra cost upon the initial scheduling call. This elicited a rather attitude-filled response from behind the reception desk. When I got in the exam room with Dr. Hoover, she did NOT introduce herself, ask my name or anything about my needs other than "What do you need from me?" She checked my blood pressure, listened to my heart and lungs and was on her way within 5 minutes. This is something I could have done at home on my own. To say Dr. Hoover had poor bedside manner is an understatement since she would have had to be at "my bedside" for any amount of time to have a bedside manner of any kind. The lab technician was actually the only pleasant part of the experience, although her facilities were lacking. No one used antibacterial foam going in or out of any room. The lab room did not have a sink! I never saw the phlebotomist wash her hands before drawing my blood. Now keep in mind I had been fasting for this blood work like the receptionist had told me to do before my appointment, so I am already uncomfortable because I had not eaten. Trying to lighten the mood, I joked that I should have had blood work done in the morning since fasting all day is not fun. The phlebotomist now tells me that I did not have to fast for pre-op blood work! This should have been communicated with the reception desk. I also had to have an EKG, and again the lab tech was very pleasant. It was nut until I arrived at home did I realize she had left multiple EKG electrode stickers on me. I highly encourage anyone considering Hoover Family Medical to look elsewhere.

I went in for my yearly check up. The front desk staff is rude and unwelcoming at best, the wait was over an hour, getting labs done also took over an hour because they hoard patients in one small room and dont know who came in first, but best of all, the doctor only spent TWO minutes with me. No, this is not an exaggeration. Im an allied healthcare worker. I know about making your patients feel welcome and like you really have their best interest. She came in without introducing herself, immediately asked what I needed while barely palpating, told me she could prescribe me weight loss pills (57; 147, seriously?) and when I told her that what I really need is exercise she said "yeah, but theres no time for that". WHAT?! Youre a health care provider! And if i wouldnt have said so, she wouldve immediately refilled my birth control without the proper testing. And she doesnt even explain any of the testing she wants to do. She just throws you to the next room without a "have a nice day". I had to go to the follow up to get my results because they will not give them to you at all and during the follow up, her ARNP immediately prescribed me 2 different supplements without educating me in what they were. Being smarter than the average bear, I asked for holistic methods. She only then decided to explain how to obtain the supplements through food and PRESCRIBED ME THE PILLS ANYWAY. AFTER I TOLD HER I DIDNT WANT THEM!!! This doctor is unethical and does not have her patients best interest at heart (maybe to some, definitely not all). She and her staff will literally prescribe anything to anyone. No one in that office explains anything, so you really have to understand whats going on or ask questions. Not a professional environment at all since people kept coming in and out of the room without knocking asking questions that could be asked in the hallway (does a present that was left in the break room really merit you coming into the room without knocking?) She may be knowledgeable but she definitely did not show it. And people, you DONT need medication for everything. Educate yourselves because she is definitely not going to give you the slightest bit of education.

Awful. Despite the strip mall office location, the services were horrid! The wait times were terrible, and then when I went in, the nurse said she would come back to take my blood pressure, never came back, then another nurse came in to take some mouth swap without much explanation. I didnt get weight, my height wasnt taken, nor was my pulse and blood pressure. When the doctor came in the was cutting me off, not asking me about my symptoms, not willing to hear my questions regarding my medications, attributed my symptoms to stress, and without even examining me, she sent me to get blood work without telling me what she was testing. 3 days later I get a voicemail that the doctor received my results and wants me to come back in for a follow up. I was scared all weekend because that had never happened to me before. When I called on Monday morning to confirm the appointment I had made online, I was told that there arent any appointments for a week. I said I was coming in anyway because she told me to. I waited over an hour. No vitals were taken, again, and again, the doctor rushed in and out without saying anything or examining anything, or asking about how my symptoms were even, and then sent me on my way with a vitamin b12 shot (the nurse left a bruise at the injection site, not normal for a b12 shot and proves how horrid this place it). She also wrote an order for a pelvic, breast and thyroid ultrasound, and didnt tell me why but said it was routine. I spoke to friends and this is not normal. I will be going to a UM doctor now (a REAL doctor, this woman here is a total QUACK). DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR, NOT ONLY DOES SHE NOT HAVE TIME FOR HER PATIENTS, BUT SHE DOESNT EVEN EXAMINE THEM!

As a Doctor she is ok at best and doenst have her patients best interest in mind at all, you can tell by how she spends not even 3 minutes with her patients during visits but the awful part is her staff, they are a true nightmare, especially the fat bleach blonde one and the other chubby one with brown hair and blue eyes....... They are very rude, they change their policies with out giving patients any notification, take over an hour just to give you a simple prescription when their office is EMPTY, have made me jump through hoops to get my prescription even though I have medical history of my condition and they have it on record but they still want me to get a letter that costs $80 dollars in order to continue my treatment. One of the patients there offered to sell me his drugs.... very shady place and she will no longer be my primary doctor after today... Garbage across the board. It is true what other reviews have said, she would prescribe ANYTHING to anyone with out thinking twice but she had patients die and get arrested for selling their drugs so now she is cracking down and changing her policies but those who dont have addictions or abuse their medication have to deal with a bunch of nonsense for something they truly need because she was irresponsible, all of that shady behavior and useless staff that has an attitude problem? You are better off going literally anywhere else.
