This guy will do the bare minimum, will waste your time and money. A nightmare of a doctor, and dangerous to those who place their health in his hands. He is money hungry and is not a serious physician. He will shove his weight loss program down your throat and will blow off any of your concerns. I went to him with a clear explanation of my health issues, he did not order the needed labs, had me come back in to tell me the labs he ordered are fine but that my cholesterol is elevated (obviously to pitch his weight loss program) and that he would need to order more labs to address the same syptoms I orig told him about. I asked if he could call and give me my results since I had been running to his office and the lab several times now and it was becoming an issue with my job, he said he does not give results over the phone, that I would have to come back to his office. Yea right! Like Im an idiot and will let him milk my insurance, pay another copay to sit through an hour of his weight loss commercials, for him to tell me Im fine again that all my results are negative. He got very angry and raised his voice at me when I calmly voiced my frustration, he told me to find another doctor and a day later sent me a written letter via certified mail letting me know he would no longer have me as a patient because I am uncooperative. I am now with Dr. Nagler an MD, a real doctor who really cares, hes located in Miami Beach and although its out of the way, I know Im in good caring hands.

I agree with the majority of the ratings who said that Dr. West-Ky Abrams is great. In fact, he is one of the best Ive had in a long time. Patient relations is great, attention to detail is spot on and I loved the fact that he ordered such a comprehensive lab order to cover almost everything you can think of.. however, I am EXTREMELY disappointed that upon arriving to my scheduled appointment last week, I was informed that my insurance is no longer accepted and as a "courtesy", theyll give me my medical record so I can take it to another Doctor. Seriously?! How irresponsible of this office to conveniently fail to mention this crucial information when they called to confirm the appointment just days before the scheduled date. It took me almost two years to finally find a Doctor I was fairly happy with!!! Now I have to start from ground zero again! Not to mention I was put on a treatment plan which included two prescribed medications for one of the chronic issues Ive been experiencing, and after days of requesting to speak to him directly, at the very least, for a follow up, they refuse... Thanks a lot.

Ive been going to this office for about 2 years, and I agree Dr. Abrams is very nice and take his time. However, I only saw him once. They always stick me with the nurse practitioner: Layda Labista and I think she is terrible! The very first time she was okay, but all the other time after that, she has been rude and unprofessional. She comes in the room usually after waiting at least 30 minutes if you re lucky, seats in front of the computer and asks a couple of questions, and while she is still talking, she storms out of the room. You would think: maybe she just went to check on something and she is coming back, but she never does. It is so frustrating because you as a patient have questions and concerns, So I have to let the nurse know that I have questions, and I end up waiting for Layda to come back in the room for another 30 minutes, because of course she just went to see another patient leaving you totally hanging and so very frustrated. Well, Im not going there again because of Layda and her rudeness!!

I would like to give less than 1 star but cant do so. Today was the final straw. I arrived for my 1:10 appointment at 1 pm. Was called up at 1:15 only to be told that Dr. Abrams wasnt in today. The receptionist tells me that they tried calling me. However that is a lie. I have no missed calls or voice mails from their office, even though I have received 5 other calls today. This is all after rushing to get my lab work completed so I could get an appointment before the doctor is out for most of May. This incident is in addition to arriving at the office on multiple occasions to pick up a prescription only to be told the prescription wasnt ready and would have to come back a different day. Even though their office told me when the prescription would be ready for pick up. Also, dont plan on being taken back to an exam room any time close to your appointment time. Most of the time it is 1 hour or more after your appointment before you leave the waiting room. Guess its time to find another doctor.

Dr. Abrams is an amazing doctor. I have been with his office for over three years. However, the last couple of months, six to be exact, he has repeatedly canceled appointments at a last minutes notice. This pattern of behavior has been evident with other patients as well and is not acceptable. This past week both my son and I had an appointment scheduled and confirmed by his office. On Monday, at 8:00am, as Im driving into my 8:30am appointment, I receive a call indicating that my appointment must be canceled. At this point, I parked at Memorial Miramar and went up to his office to request a copy of my most recent bloodwork and informed the office I will no longer be seeing Dr. Abrams. It saddens me to leave this office, however, four canceled appointments in less than six months is unacceptable.

Dr. Abrams has been my primary physician for my mom and I for a few years now. Hes always been great with me. always. In the past two- three years ive been unable to see him because my appointments have always been cancelled, whether hes out of town or hes not available. Although I dont have an issue with the PA working there (who is usually available),i prefer to see my doctor. Anyway, recently I had a post ER follow up that was again cancelled and that was really frustrating. Just calling and making the appt is a hassle (as phone either doesnt work or staff doesnt answer) and to be cancelled the day before on top of that makes it really annoying and inconvenient. Really thinking of switching doctors as much as i dont want to.

The negative posts that were written sound like they came from someone with personal feelings. Dr. Abrams has been my doctor for over three years and I highly recommend him. He is very caring and his approach is one of looking at what is wrong from the inside first which is what is so great! Most doctors now a days tend to have all the pharmaceutical companies in mind and treat everything with medications rather than looking at what in your body is causing the problem. I have had a great experience with him and the only downside is that his office has become EXTREMELY busy (which is evidence that he is great!) and is a little more difficult to see him. However, when you do see him, he is very genuine and compassionate.
