This vet and vet hospital (s) is known by name in the capital, Tallahassee, in the division of Professional Regulation for having numerous complaints reported against him. Always check credentials, veterinarian or human doctor. As my mother said, you never know, just because they graduated medical school, you do not know their ranking, he could have barely gotten his diploma by the skin of his teeth. He killed one of my animals by refusing to call my vet in my home town, lied to me about calling her. He withheld the medication I told him my cat needed, he didnt even know what it was. His vet techs are untrained off the street. One of them was responsible for clamping my cats catheter tube in the cage door below him, thereby causing irreparable damage. The doctor then chose to perform emergency surgery, a common surgery for cats with FUS blockage, which is NOT what my cat had. In the middle of the surgery he sent someone out for a book. The tech handed him a very old text book which he read from while cutting my cat. My cat died on the table. He charged me for all this. Before this disaster, he chose to use a FeLeuk vaccine most all reputable vets stopped using because of the higher incidence of it as a cause of vaccine related cancer. I was able to treat this second cat, but the cancer returned a few years later. He killed both my animals. The day he killed my cat in surgery at least two other animals died while I was there. Oh, and to comfort me after my cat died in surgery he started quoting scripture to me. For petessake, how dare he, he knew nothing of my belief system. It was not his place to preach to me after he tortured and butchered an animal who was NOT terminal. DO NOT trust him or his son. To quote his son " charting everything that happens is what we, in vet school, call anal." They are charlatans.

Ive been going to Kind Animal Hospital for several years now and I cannot think of a single complaint. Dr. Basta has routinely gone out of his way to help minimize the associated costs for keeping our pets healthy. Dr. Basta has always been upfront with his diagnosis and never tried to pad the bill. Despite the disparaging comments below, Dr. Basta and co. have always been professional and treated me and my pets with the utmost courtesy. As with ANY business, the service you receive is highly dependent upon the way you approach the business owner and their staff. Approach them as friends and they will treat you like a friend. Also, I have found the rates at Kind Animal Hospital to be very competitive considering the level of expertise and the equipment they utilize behind the scenes. Ask them about their special canine juicing rates. Dr. Basta aims to please. ;)

This place is real unprofessional. My cat had some irritation on her skin so we took her to Kind Animal Hospital to check it out. The assistant (with tattoos and large gauge earrings) was showing off his scars on his hard from previous cats he mishandled as we were waiting for the vet. The vet and assistant look like people who robbed the place than dressed up as and pretend to be veterinarians. In some attempt to examine my cat, they covered her with some raggedy towel and forcefully grabbed her to prevent resistance. Of course, she was all wild now as the vet speculated that the skin irritation could be incense or something in our house. We literally walked out and went to another place down the street who gave my cat antibiotics and and ointment. I found them to be just plain incompetent.

I recently moved to North Miami Beach and happened to find KIND Animal Hospital during a pet emergecy and needed a vet ASAP. Dr. Basta was extremely helpful, professional and very friendly. Sadly, soon after my first visit I returned to KIND and had to put down my pet. The enitre staff was warm and sympathtic. The staff made that difficult experience as pleasant as possible. I will now be taking all of pets to KIND. They are truthful, honest and fair. I would highly recommend you checking them out!

I am moving to Australia for good and I am taking my dog "Honey" with me. They have been wonderful helping me through all this difficult process even reminding me the appointments so i can get everything done on time. They also care, love and understand dogs psychology. Honey is not an easy dog, she is tiny and afraid of people as she was rescued from a Shelter but here they know how to handle her and she does not feel scared and I trust them completely. Love the vets and service here.

Poor service from vet - non caring attitude - wants to bleed money from you. He almost killed my cat - put her on meds she didnt need and made it sound like she had a condition - told me she was going to die. Took her to another vet and she put on weight, got better after I stopped the meds he had her on. Best decision for my cat was to take her to another vet. That was awhile ago and my cat is still alive and doing well. Wonder how this guy is still operating

As any pet owner knows, finding quality vet care is a challenge in Miami. If youre still searching, I suggest you stop by to speak to Dr. Basta. He truly cares about his patients and their owners. On top of the thorough service, Ive not found a veterinarian with more reasonable rates in all South Florida. Whether youre satisfied with your current pet doctor or not, you owe it to your dog, cat, or any other pet to seek out Kind Animal Hospital.

I have only good things to say about Kind Animal Hospital and Dr. Basta. I took my dog to him and he helped diagnose her cancer. He spoke to honestly about her condition and was very caring when it was time to put her down. He even sent me a hand written personal condolence card after her death. There was only one option with my new puppy, KIND ANIMAL HOSPITAL! The staff is friendly and I feel like family every time I go there!

We took a stray baby kitten that had shown up at our door to Dr .Basta today. He was very ill and unfortunately did not survive. However, the Doctor and his staff were so incredibly caring through what was a very difficult experience for my fiancé and I. We cannot thank them enough for the kindness they showed us and our little guy and we will be sure to be bringing any of our other pets in need straight here.

My 3 dogs Onyx, Tramp & Coco are patients of Dr. Basta. The staff as well as the Dr. are very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, helpful and educational regarding any illness, questions or concerns we have regarding our pets.
