I moved here from out of state a month ago. Went in to Palm Harbor VA clinic to get registered and left my paperwork at the desk. They said the person who enters the data was off that day but that they would get it done and I would receive a call from their office to schedule an appointment in about a week. I didnt hear anything so called the clinic on the following Monday (11/16/15) and ended up getting transferred to the billing department at Bay Pines(?). This person was very helpful and got me to an unknown registration office. The lady who I talked to was very helpful and registered me over the phone in about 5 minutes. She then told me to call Palm Harbor back to get my appointment. I called them and was informed that it would take about a month and half for me to get into the treatment stream. I cant wait that long so will have to make other arrangements. I called Bay Pines registration (hoping to speak with the lady that registered me) and spoke to a condescending lady with a could-care-less attitude who seemed quite bothered answering my questions, as if I should somehow magically know already how the system works around here. Now I know why the VAMC is getting such a bad rep. I WONT be accessing any VA services here, just based on the people Ive spoken to who are supposed to make the rubber meet the road - ASAP. Hey folks, I know Im not the only troop in the pile and Im willing to allow for that, but this was ridiculous. Having come from the Northwest Im not used to it. I KNOW the VA provides pretty good to excellent care in many cases, its the folks you encounter in the middle of the journey to the Dr.s office that can really sour a guy on accessing VA services. In some of these cases if I were KING some I ran across would get a warm fuzzy and others a real boot in the ass! I would recommend an initial screening interview for new folks out of area to inform them of where to go for day-to-day sick call, explain the referral process and wait times and location(s) for receiving specialty care. I had to dig it out of them before I found it out. BUMMER!

Making an appointment at this location is next to impossible. When you call, even after selecting the option to make an appointment, you get connected to someone that has nothing to do with appointments. Why? Because the person that is supposed to be taking appointments is always out sick. Seriously, thats always the excuse I get when I call. So what they do is they transfer you to the nurse that works under your doctor. The problem is this nurse NEVER answers the phone and the line goes to voicemail. The voicemail states to leave a message with your name, number, and reason for calling and they will call you back within 48 business hours. However when you leave this voicemail, they NEVER call you back. So you end up calling again, get the same "oh the appointment maker is out sick, let me transfer you to your doctors nurse" message, and repeat the process again. You hear in the news about how horrible the VA is when it comes to treating their patients, this place is just one more example of that.

Nicely located on US 19 on the Southwest courner at Alderman diagonally across from the Walmart, the new VA clinic is well situated for us vets from Spring Hill to Dade City to Saint Pete and beyond.. Leading my medical group once again is the ever present sweetheart, the tiny giant, one of the very best, kindest, wonderfully efficient, "little Momma" Doctor Lokesh". I suppose you might have guessed that I respect and admire Dr. Lokesh she has been and is a gem and I have been with her for the several years I have been using the VA Clinic. The Clinic itself is clean and well laid out with good fscilities and parking. The staff is the finest, efficent, compasionate, the folks there go out of their way to help as much as is possible. Whom ever the Administrators are that concieved and implemented this clinic did a fine job. Rhall New Port Richey, FL

Ive been in the VA system for 40 years as a service connected disabled veteran. This is only concerning the automated appointment system! I tried to cancel an appointment at PH. I made the right selection, it was automatically dialed...and I got a message saying the extension was not valid. The system failed! FIX IT! This is no reflection on Palm Harbor VA Clinic. Im thankful this clinic is open, close, and provides excellent service.

I got great sevice, very friendly people. I hear vets complain and I read the complaints, and bad reviews are written by vets that expect Red Carpet treatment, that they will never be satisfied even in the private sector. I tell that vet, to go pay for it, if ur not happy.

They have never done anything for me. The only thing they able to do is tell you false information concerning your health. If you have any health issues you have to talk to a nurse that cant help.
