Im starting the dual EMT/Fire Fighter Academy at Seminole State and was told to go to any facility to get my physical, drug screening, tdap shot and tuberculosis test and I picked Centra Care because I work during the week and I called prior to make sure they accepted my insurance (Tricare Prime) My wife had also called our insurance company and verified each family member is authorized two non-referral urgent care vists per calendar year with only a $12 co-pay. So on Sunday I went to get everything done. To my surprise, at checkout I get a bill for $150!!! Im now told Tricare doesnt cover any of the services. I obviously tried to explain the situation, but they wouldnt hear it. It was Sunday and our insurance customer service was closed so I was forced to pay the bill. On Monday I called our insurance company. I was told what centra care did was completely wrong! They are an in network provider and shouldve only charged us a $12 copay. I was advised since Centra care is an in network provider legally they must file a claim on my behalf. So the following Tuesday I had to go back so they could check my arm for the tuberculosis test.I waited over thirty minutes in the waiting room only to be welcomed by a nurse with a bad attitude. She tried to tell me I needed another shot, but I had a list of all immunizations needed for the program and it was all taken care of on Sunday. Next I went to the front desk to confront them about the bill. The two girls at the desk told me "we didnt work Sunday and had nothing to do with it so theres nothing we can do to help you". Heres the kicker: On the bottom of the bill it states "$271 estimated balance due from insurance". So not only did they charge me $150 (cheaper with the school discounts). They are going to try to put in a claim with my insurance company which they said DIDNT COVER ANY OF MY SERVICES, for the full amount without any discounts. So initially my wife wrote this review on Yelp but it was taken down because *someone* in the Yelp community reported it because it didnt come from the actual consumer. I wonder who that was. Well this is the actual consumer and Id like to add a little more now that you requested to take down my wifes honest review. You refused to file a claim on our behalf at first Alex F. (manager at centra care). It was only until my wife conferenced called our insurance company with Alex F. who was extremely rude too I must add to our insurance agent. Our insurance company explained its illegal for an in network provider not to file a claim on the behalf of a client. Alex F. said he would file the claim, but if he doesnt get reimbursed he will not reimburse me. This my friend is illegal also known as FRAUD. Youre an in network provider. If you do not reimburse me I am able to file a grievance against centra care and seek legal advice. My wife is retired military. Thank you Centra Care for serving your Military Veterans and their families (insert sarcasm here). *After Alex F. said he would be filing the claim on Friday and asked my wife for her SSN and Birthday (since shes the sponser *military insurance*) and still no claim has been found on Tricares side (according to them it only takes two business days) I decided to contact centra cares corporate office. They were appalled at how myself, my wife and Tricare were treated. They believe the manager Alex F. was just trying to make quota for the month. We are now working with them on this issue to get reimbursed. Centra Cares corporate office was nothing but apologetic and helpful through the whole process and said they will be here to help us through this ordeal. She forwarded all the complaints to her supervisor regarding Alex F. and the practices at this location and said she will get me in contact with the correct person/persons to file a complaint against Alex F.

Took my 12 y/o son there with a bad stomach ache. My son has been diagnosed with irritable bowel, so for stomach aches I would usually let him rest at home unless he was in near crisis mode, but due to Seminole County schools policy of treating student with more than a few absences as truants, complete with police threats, etc., I feared we needed a Doctors note. The intake staff was nice enough, and after a 30 minute wait we saw a Physicians Assistant, who spent 4 minutes questioning my son before and feeling his stomach before telling me we needed to RUSH to the ER less his appendix burst and he dies. She said his situation was so critical she would call the ER of our choice to let them know we were coming so they would be prepared. She didnt suggest the closest ER about 3-5 mins away, but the one that CentraCare is affiliated with 12-15 minutes away. When we got there he was examined and ultimately (after 4 hours of sitting in wait) given a CT scan which revealed IRRITABLE BOWEL . We have a $5,000 deductible on our insurance, and the bill was $6,000, so we had to pay big time to have his diagnosis re-confirmed. I understand erring on the side of caution, but this was a 12 y/o who was not doubled over crying, he had a $5,000 stomach ache. We found a great walk-in near us that we loved, and have been going there, but now that we have Humana they cant see us anymore unless we pay $135/visit, less than the last Centa Care but still a bit too much in this economy. Thanks to Seminole County Schools for making a family with a sick child feel like a criminal, and making us spend hard earned $$$ needlessly.

When I first walk in, some of the staff have this "Ive been here all day, I dont care about your problems" attitude about them. They also seem to be more interested in playing the role of mean girls in "Mean Girls". As I wait what seems like FOREVER in my room ( I even made an appointment), I can hear all of them talking talking talking about their personal lives. I feel like doctors purposely make you wait forever just so it looks like theyre busy. The worst part was when my doctor asked me what he could do for me, and I said " I had a horrible cold like this before, and I took some medicine, and it really helped, so I wanted to know if I can have some". He then says " First off, never come into a doctors office asking for medicine. That wipes out 12 years of my schooling" . I cant believe he said that. How rude and unprofessional. He was basically belittling me and making me uncomfortable. He had bright green eyes, I forgot his name. Im sorry, I didnt know it took you 12 years of school to tell me something I already know. (I have a cold)... He asked me my symptoms.... Hmmm let me see, how about all the symptoms that include.. a cold? Is it that hard? Not going back there. So unprofessional..

Ok so I am rating as i sit in the office at this very moment. Why two stars? I am tired of coming in already to wait a very long time just to see the doctor. I have been here since 3:10-3:15pm and it is close to 6 and i have just now seen my doctor and thats not including how long it may take just to get the paperwork like last time plus new medication for my issue. Last time I came, it was a few days ago i was here from 430pm and left close if not at 730pm I saw the doctor sometime between 530 and 630pm that time so it took long to get the paper work and medicine to leave. The staff is great. They are nice and the doctor is attentive when i finally get to see him so the service part i am ok with but the wait time is ridiculous especially when I called ahead before walking in and was told the wait time would be estimated anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour if I came in right away which was no problem because i wasnt far at all. I just wish they would be able to be better at time management because I have been uncomfortable with pain and I am sitting for hours for about less than 10 minutes of talk time between me, the nurse, and the doctor.
