Slow! Poor Management of Emergency Room is clear to the public view! Upon entering the Emergency Department the wait time showed to be around 10 minutes, I can understand that it may fluctuate based on activity coming in. Once its waiting a hour, your watching the people with some less severe issues go back first. The difference? They are being "so friendly" and hugging and always talking to the Registration Nurses at the desk so they get bumped up? Why do I state this? from overhearing the woman at the desk state to another RN how she bumped her up and got her in with a phone call. Meanwhile, People who are nearly about to fall down in pain are sitting in the Emergency Waiting area. Once it becomes a 2 hour wait, which is absurd at this point. I know they are not THAT busy to where someone should be waiting 2 hours in those chairs! Upon looking for a contact such as Management to place a comment with, the findings took over 15 minutes for a RN to return to state "they cannot find anyone" (Side note: This is 12:40 in the afternoon at this point). Upon walking out the ONLY Person who Showed any compassion was the security guard. Wow, How sad is it that the most compassion was shown from the security guard v.s. the staff actually working directly with patients? Poor Management indeed, Upon going to CF Regional, Wait time was 12 minutes. Thanks for wasting 2.5 hours of my day South Seminole Hospital! I will drive elsewhere, even if this is the closest Hospital to me!

My 7 year old sister fell in our tile kitchen & hurt her knee, we thought it was broken because she couldn't move it & it was purple imeditly; we drove her to the this hospital right away & told them what was up & we sat & waited in the waiting room with her in a wheel chair for 5 and a half hours !!!! It was so redicilous , she didn't have a broken knee thank God , but she was in bad pain the whole time & they didn't do crap until over 5 hours after our arrival & their knowledge of the situation. While waiting we were talking to a mother who was there with her daughter who was 13 years old & was suffering from chest pain, her mother later told us that she brought her to the hospital , because at birth her daughter was so premature that her lungs & heart were not developed fully & she had to receive a lung & heart transplant ;; they were there because she was having chest pains for about an hour before going to the hospital ... Once they arrived & told them why, they waited for over 3 hours. Another family we talked to that were there before us had their daughter in because she feeling very ill & it was too late at night to make a doctors appointment & she was not feeling well at all & they didn't think it was the flu. After waiting over 6 hours in that waiting room, they just ended up leaving to go to a different hospital. I do NOT recommend this hospital to ANYONE.

I would not take my dying dog here!!!! Beware of Dr Sallinas in the ER not only did he not care to even see my mother in law as a patient he rambled on and on about irrelevant life stories when i finally demanded to actually see a physician After refusing to see my mother in law, I told the nurse that was absolutely inappropriate and minutes later she then handed me a phone with the doc on the other line telling me he has three patients with septic shock and i am not a priority. After voicing my concerns to him in regards to my mother in laws condition he asked me what my medical background was, as if that played a role in my mother in laws condition. Completely Disgusted with His mannerisms, cursing and foul language. As he walked out, he told the nurse on staff, in front of us "yes! Only ten more minutes left on my shift!" I am shocked that any medical facility would hire a doctor of this caliber. Never ever ever again will I ever risk anyones life bor refer a single soul to this hospital

I gotta say, Im definitely going to another hospital next time I have a problem. It didnt take too long (45 mins) to get into the room. But next it took over an hour for the woman taking my copay to come in. Then over another hour to get taken back for a ten minute test. Then over another hour for them to come discharge me with a few scrips which I didnt care for...I wanted answers. Then I had to request another visit from the doctor to address the main issue I was there for. I told three people along the way that I had a past with hernias when I was younger and no one even thought to check for that as they were pushing me out the door. I just got the feeling that no one REALLY cared about the patients there. This visit didnt exactly break me but my ER copay is definitely going to another hospital next time. I hope this hospital gets closed down like everything else in Longwood has been lately.

My 3 year old son had fallen and split his head open on our tile floor so we rushed him to South Seminole hospital because I refuse going back to altamonte hospital where he was born do to very bad service and rude nurses the last time we were there. But the staff at South Seminole were amazing. As soon as we walked in we were comforted by the security guard who was showing pictures of his animals to my son, the woman at the front was very calm and told us about her clumsy children to make me calmer (I was freaking out more than my son was) and we got right into a room. Everyone that came into our room made my son laugh and was very gentle with everything they did. Instead of my son being scared, he was more than happy to be there. After stitching they gave him a chocolate milk and sent us on our way. Definitely recommend this hospital.

Our son was born in this hospital and I would strongly urge everyone to arrange for a different hospital when pregnant. From the start my wife had a hard time breastfeeding our son. The nurses would come in and do cursory checks on the mother and baby. However, one thing they were not doing was weighing the babies diapers to make sure he was hydrated and getting nutrition. Long story short, we end up in the ped ICU at Orlando Florida Hospital with our son going through seizures because his glucose level is 21. He almost died from that incident, and it was the fault of the nurses/doctors at south seminole. I would never trust the birth of my child with those doctors and nurses. Go somewhere else

I do not like the way this emergency is run. They need more "techs" and more staff. My mom had an accident and waited over twenty minutes before she got changed. Even then the nurse rolled her eyes and said she was sending EKG in there. I refused the EKG till someone cleaned her up. I didnt mind doing it but I didnt know where anything was. This is not the only time that the ER has been understaffed and we have been here. But its the worst nurse that weve ever had. So help me if I dont see her again b/c Ill end up hauling off and knocking her the eff out. If she had a bad day under staff and always cant be happy I understand shes human. But its not my problem. Its your job to help.
