Moved here in 2011, thought like everyone great community hospital to have in the area how convenient. I was wrong. Aultman lacks verbal communication with patients. I was seen previously in October for pneumonia was admitted but told by chief of residents "oh so that is not really a true pneumonia. Recently was seen with injured arm and in a lot of pain could not move it. They moved my wrist back and forth but never assessed my whole arm. Got 2 xrays gave pain meds, awaiting. Got back xray saw different dr and again no name was introduced apparently, he was the chief of ER found out later on. Was more focused on another tests in my chart that I had done that I told them repeatedly had nothing to do and this was a new pain that I was experiencing. Sent home again pain meds, no explanation given a packet and referral to follow up. On heart meds, labs were out of whack and no lab work done. They were told this. There lack of assessment from the physicians is terrible, lack of assessment for a patient with complex medical history is awful. Verbal communication is terrible and had to ask them what they thought was wrong with me and not wanting to get information in a discharge packet. Now a whole week later following up 2 other drs, awaiting another outpatient MRI and still in pain that is costing me MORE money including ER trips. Do not go here unless its outpatient related ER stay AWAY!! Or ask for Trina, trauma/triage nurse only one who is helpful. I had another nurse, told her couldnt use one of my arms she rolled her eyes, stepped out and they insisted still needed to get blood. Do not listen to their patients. Can care less about ER waits they want you in and out fast is all they care about.

For starters my girlfriend was having a terrible reaction to the pain meds they prescribed her the night before and right outside the room one nurse laughed and said that she just thought it was something to another nurse. Then when the doctor finally arrived it was an hour and a half and she was getting more nausiated and her breathing was getting harder and he just ordered a chest xray without saying why. Then in the whole 3 hours we were there she kept asking to see her nurse to see if there was anything they could do right away for the breathing and dizziness that was happening and not once did anyone come see her. And when she was discharged a different nurse walks in and said "okay youre being discharged. Take these. They should taste like cherry." The cherry stuff was not even named until we asked what it was because she could have had another bad reaction to it and instead of telling her they just said to take it. And the perscription was made without asking what meds she was already on. It wasnt until we got to the pharmacy when we asked if that would have any reaction to what she was taking and he said that the one she has to already take mixed with the one they perscribed was very dangerous and could very well kill her. So one star is way too generous for this place and the doctor (Dr. Miller) should not be allowed to continue under these types of conditions!

Im currently sitting in the NICU with my daughter and cannot believe what a hole this place is. I gave birth here, nothing too special about the experience. The birth was fine. We just transferred BACK to Aultman from Childrens and the difference is just sickening. They dropped my daughters medicine to low cost and took her off of a lot of things, and put her back on machines she no longer needs. I trust childrens over aultman any day, sorry. Everything is about liability here. They even wanted me to ask to have a nurse get my daughter out of his isolette for me. Umm, hell no. I put an end to that quick. There is zero care for breastfeeding mothers, no consideration for how tired we are because they blast lights in our faces at all hours, no meal trays to ensure we can produce milk, no mommy groups, no activities, just basic, bottom of the barrel care. Bare minimum. My room is on the opposite side of the wall where the doors for the labor ward is and it slams CONSTANTLY and shakes the whole wall and makes tons of noise. Like... really? This place feels like a prison. I hate it and Im paying the same amount for mediocre care as i was for top of the line care and medicine at childrens. Way better than Mercy though.

Upset at how my visit panned out for the most part.. Dislocated Jaw, also fractured in 3 places, and a wide gash in my chin. Arrived around 1am, no pain meds until 5am, Surgery at 9Pm, discharged around 9 am the next morning. This whole time frame I did have anything to eat, drink, able to clean myself, not even the dried blood around my face. Spoke to the oral surgeon for maybe a total of 10 minutes. Didnt give me any "advice" about taking care of my injury after discharge, you name it. And to be sent home maybe a couple hours after awaking from surgery in major pain, was unbelievable. To think I was in the SICU ( Surgical Intensive Care Unit), nothing was intensive about the care except one thing which is why I gave this review 2 stars; the nurses. Some of the most amazing nurses Ive came across, always seemed happy, didnt seem bothered to assist me, and excellent job knowledge. Thank you Carissa, Rocky, Betty, and Craig (and more) for making this experience somewhat better, the best you could have.

Worst hospital experience. Never was fond of the place but certainly wont be back after this already 5 day stay. Ive been denied food and water for the last 5 days over surgery o was supposed to be having. The surgeon knew he wasnt doing it til Sunday and Ive been NPO every day since this past Monday. Ive been able to eat 1 time in 4 days and drink 1 glass of water in 4 days. Being told daily that they were going to try to squeeze me in that day for surgery to find out hes not even doing it til Sunday. Also my kidneys are apparently bad enough to possibly need to see a kidney doctor and did they inform me of that? No they did not. The communication and care and nurses around here completely suck. Absolutely would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

Tonight I brought my daughter in because her foot is bruised and her toes are black. Dr. Courtney Owac pressed around her toes and told her to quit dance its painful. Said there was nothing she could do. Acted completely racist and rolled her eyes at me when I pointed out the bruising. Im sure i was judged because our insurance but I will NEVER let that doctor near anyone i know around her. Didnt even give advice for ice or heat. Her assistant was just as rude wearing skinny pants bulging at the seams (disgusting). She will dance forever Owac or Dr quack!!

I have had to use the ER three times this year. I have had 3 surgeries this year. I have been using Aultman since 2002. Had a problem in Jan with ER. Contacted patient advocacy they have for any reason if you have an issue. The DO care and will work with you to correct the issue and they did! The ER and admissions, surgeries and stays have been wonderful. Great care. SO nice to have private rooms! Even kitchen goes out of their way to be AT YOUR SERVICE for your needs and extremely kind. Rather go her than Cleveland Clinic!!
