My wife needed hernia repair surgery and her local Surgeon (who we really like and respect) suggested that we see a specialist doctor in Celebration. He told us this doctor at Celebration Hospital is a world-renown surgeon recognized for this type of surgery. So we traveled from Deltona to Celebration to see Dr Parra Divila. It turns out that Dr. Parra and his staff are truly the best in their field. My wife and I were treated with courtesy and respect throughout the entire event … as she received the best care and treatment through her surgery and check-ups. About 10 days into recovery of her hernia repair surgery, my wife developed an abscess and blockage … back to Celebration we went. Dr. Parra and his staff pinpointed and resolved her problems … she is again on-the-mend! We can’t praise Dr. Parra and his staff enough … they are great! Now, walking into Celebration Health Hospital is like walking into a Resort. It truly is a beautiful complex. Once you get into the hospital room, you are greeted by either the Nurse or the Tech … or both … and the treatment plan is implemented very quickly. The staff should be commended for doing such a great job … they are friendly and very helpful while consulting with the doctors to confirm all meds are correct. My wife is considered to be, what is called in IV lingo, as a “hard stick.” From years of various surgeries she has thin and hard-to-find veins. In a 4-day hospital stay, she was stuck more than a dozen times … with multiple bruise marks to prove it. The only method that worked for her allowing the IV to last for about 2 days, was conducted by the IV Team with their Ultrasound machine. After my wife was admitted with the abscess and blockage, the doctors performed an aspiration procedure to drain fluid from her abdomen. At the time when she needed the required antibiotics and fluids the most, more than one nurse tried to start an IV unsuccessfully … because she is such as hard stick. Unfortunately, the IV Teams were otherwise occupied and not available for over 6 hours … that was a long 6 hours. My wife was stuck 3 or 4 times while waiting for the IV Team. The staff is not at fault! During that 6-hour period, I had a conversation with the attending nurse and requested the IV Team to start my wife’s IV so she could start receiving fluids and meds. While waiting for the IV Team to arrive, I couldn’t help but think that the hospital administration should evaluate the number of qualified IV Teams that are on call at all times… and supply them all with the magic Ultrasound carts. That method was truly the best method for my wife. I really hope, for the benefit all others in the same category as my wife … a “Hard Stick” … that additional qualified IV Teams are created and equipped with the Ultrasound carts. Thank you for everything you all do … Celebration Health Hospital is absolutely in a league of its own! Roy & Bonnie ... Deltona, FL

Incompetent and sometimes even criminal doctors and staff. There is never a live person to talk to on the phone. Be prepared to wait on hold for 1/2 an hour no matter when you call. Horrible automated phone systems that are almost impossible to navigate. Just paid my bill over the phone after fighting with the automated system. Gives your payment confirmation # incredibly fast and does not repeat it or give you the option to repeat it. After waiting the usual 1/2 hour on hold for for a live person and having to re-verify all of my information they said they couldnt give me my own confirmation # and said they would email me a receipt on Friday. All of this BS for a 5 minute consult with my Dr. Its insane. I was charged over $200 WITH platinum health insurance to walk in and have a 5 minute discussion with my doctor. After paying $300 up front to do what turned out to be a 5 minute introduction to my doctor I walked back down to the admission office and asked why I was charged a $300 co-pay for a 5 minute conversation with no procedures or anything being done. They said it was an error on their part and would refund the $300 payment. 2 months later Im getting a bill for over $200 for the same thing. Luckily my Dr has another office so from then on I have been going to his sand lake office and my copays have been $20 and no head aches paying my bills. In a previous visit my wife was sold an expensive Oophorectomy by Dr. McCarus. She was told if she didnt have the surgery the orange sized cyst on her ovary would burst and she would die. After Dr. McCarus sold her this expensive surgery it wreaked havoc on her hormones after we specifically ask Dr. McCarus if that would happen do to the ovary being removed. His response was "no the other one will pick up the slack and produce the same amount of hormones so its no big deal". Years later we went to another OBGYN (Dr. Jeffrey R. Koren) who informed us that after reading my wifes tests before she had the surgery, Dr. McCarus lied to us and nothing in her test results indicated she had a life threatening cyst and the $20,000 surgery for the removal of the ovary was totally unneeded. I have had so many bad experiences at this place over the years if I wrote every one of them in this review I would crash googles servers. What can I say, Im a slow learner but Im glad I finally stopped going there. Things have been great since changed hospitals. Cheeper co-pays, competent staff, better service. Stay away! If your doctor is affiliated with Florida hospital you need to find a new doctor or ask them to treat you at another hospital!

Some of the ER staff is rude. I also had an MD and an RN complete my paperwork with false information on it. I never had any urine sample done but the RN gave a description of my urine! I never even gave them any at all!! I arrived in a WHEELCHAIR but the MD wrote that I had "no difficulty walking." WHAT AN A-HOLE. I was asked if I had pain or weakness or numbness. I told them YES, I HAVE PAIN AND NUMBNESS. But the MD marked on the form that I had no numbness. (AGAIN, WHAT AN A-HOLE!) The nurse got into an argument with someone who accompanied me. She had been sneaking around listening to a PRIVATE conversation behind our curtain. She came over to us and got into an argument with the person who was with me. I said nothing at all. The RN later wrote on MY paperwork that I was argumentative, when I never said a word. There are Emergency Room staff at this Celebration location hospital who dont know what they are doing. When I asked an ER nurse about getting something fixed in my medical records, they told me nothing could be changed or done about it. I told them I wanted to amend my records or I would report them to the state for fasifying information. It is a patients RIGHT to amend your medical records. It was inexcusable for a MD and an RN to fill out a patients information incorrectly on medical documents. I made another trip to the hospital and asked medical records for all of my documents and they refused to include parts of it, saying they gave me all of it. I had to get someone else in there to go get it or I wasnt leaving until they did. The building is beautiful and the food is wonderful here. That was the best part of my experience there. (I recommend you drop by there to eat if you visit). But if you go to the ER for care, MAKE SURE THAT YOU TELL THE MD AND NURSES TO FILL OUT YOUR INFORMATION CAREFULLY AND CORRECTLY. BE SURE TO BE VERY VERY CAREFUL when you answer their questions and TELL THEM TO DOCUMENT YOUR ANSWERS CORRECTLY. Lord knows they dont seem to already know enough to do this. Hate to see what medical school they went to. Good luck.
