I woke up one Saturday morning to one of the least pleasant sentences I have ever started my day with, "Cliff, Bella ate rat poison." In my early morning haze, I cannot clearly recall exactly how I found that Gulf Coast Veterinary Center was my nearest emergency veterinary clinic, but I was marching my Australian Cattle Dog and her belly full of poison through the rain and into their lobby about 20 minutes after that rude awakening. I had every excuse to be in a truly vile mood, but Dr. Hamilton and his staff did not give me the opportunity. Everyone there gave me the immediate sense that they knew exactly what they were doing and they truly enjoyed doing it. I have rarely felt such sudden confidence in a group of people. That confidence was not misplaced, as they tended to my dog with energetic but gentle efficiency. I was kept updated on her condition frequently, until Dr. Hamilton met me in the exam room with my small dog and a pan containing everything she had eaten that morning. 30 minutes later, I was heading back home with a dog who seemed to think she had just been to visit friends. She suffered absolutely no ill effects from the incident, as I gladly told the Gulf Coast staffer who called me to follow up on Bellas condition. I am not generally one to write a review of much of anything, but my experience with Gulf Coast was truly exceptional. I will continue to recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone.

I was previously not happy with my current vets "front desk" staff. I always felt like I was a bother to them and did not like the way they treated me. Therefore, I was looking for a new Vet close by to me and Dr. Hamilton was recommended to me by a friend. I immediately went up to his office and was greeted with a smile! I had a million questions to ask and she answered every one of them and then some! Two days later I took my 11 yr. old Sophie in and I was greeted by Ryan, another member of the team who was so affectionate with my dog and very polite to me! I was thinking "Yes, this is how it ought to be"! When I met Dr. Hamilton, that sealed the deal! When I told him what was going on with her, I can honestly say he examined her from nose to tail!! He told me in laymen terms exactly what was wrong and our treatment plan went underway. He even pointed out a heart murmur which the other vet never even picked up on. I have 3 rescued fur babies and they will ALL be under the care of Dr. Hamilton from now on. I highly recommend Gulf Coast Veterinary Center!

Dr. Ron Hamilton and his staff are just AMAZING! So knowledgeable - responds quickly - compassionate and caring. We are involved in greyhound rescue, foster and adoption in the Tampa Bay area. Dr Hamilton works right along with our group helping and caring for our greyhounds. He is versed in their unique health issues. His staff is so friendly and helpful as well. We recently had our own greyhound become extremely ill. Dr Hamilton worked with us during our crisis on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis. We did loose our beloved grey in the end. However, KNOW without a doubt that we along with Dr. Hamilton and his staff did everything that could be done. We felt confident in the decisions and care that were provided during one of our most difficult times. We are now fostering more greyhounds while our hearts heal. We will adopt one again in the future. And, take comfort in the fact that we, our foster greys and our future adopted greys will get excellent health care from Dr. Hamilton and his staff.

I was awoken by my 3year old boxer early Saturday 1/21/17 to see my boy was covered from head to toe in hives and his face was bloodied from scratching. I immediately called our vet who informed me they were no longer seeing patients on Saturdays and referred me to the ER which is always incredibly expensive. I called 4 other vets who turned me away bc I was not a patient. However Gulf Coast didnt hesitate they told me to come immediately to get him started on meds. The staff was so friendly and caring and the Dr. was also so kind. Got an injection on steroids, a prescription of prednisone and instructions for benadryl dosage. We have been home 30mins and Comet is hive free and napping. Thank you so much for your kindness Gulf Coast we will be returning.

Dr. Hamilton has been my pets doctor for many years. I first met Dr. Hamilton when he was associated with a local animal rescue organization I volunteered for. I was so impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, and caring and compassionate service to all his patients and their owners that I ended up transferring all my pets, cats and dogs, from the vet we had been seeing to Dr. Hamilton. There is no one I would trust more with my 4 legged kids total healthcare than Dr. Hamilton. The support Dr. Hamilton receives from his staff at Gulf Coast Veterinary Center is also second to none. I have complete confidence that my pets will receive the best healthcare possible at Gulf Coast Veterinary Center.

Dr. Hamilton is a great vet. What I really like about him is that he actually likes his patients. Ive been to other vets that dont interact well with my dogs and dont really seem to like them. Dr. Hamilton pats them, gives them scratches, talks to them, laughs when they do silly things (my dog likes to "talk" and Dr. Hamilton always thinks it is funny). I really appreciate that in a vet. He will also take the time to explain everything to you. His office staff is very nice and super helpful. As an added bonus, his prices are very reasonable.

I recently adopted a wonderful cat, she had an unknown issue and got sick really fast. Dr. Hamilton, Amanda and staff were outstanding. Mercedes had to have many teeth extracted she was in so much pain prior to my first visit. I have never encountered such wonderful, caring people in any veterinarians office. We never felt alone throughout this entire process. I can say its day 2 since procedure and Mercedes is eating again. I cannot count how many vet clinic I passed during our drive to Dr. Hamiltons office. I can say it was well worth the trip.

Our dog Duke is an 8 YO Neutered Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier who is a product of a Puppy Mill. He has 27 allergies and has been diagnosed with Metastatic Cancer. We keep a comprehensive journal of Dukes medical issues. Dr. Hamilton really appreciates our record keeping and will go out of his way to take the time needed to explain the results of his examination of Duke. If possible, he will offer several treatment protocols, as well. Best of all, he is learned, congenial, and, his fees are reasonable! Dukes Dad
