Im writing this review based on the experience yesterday I had with my cat. I noticed that my cats eyelid was puffy and irritated. I called Pet Vet and they were able to get me in on the same afternoon, which was great. The staff was welcoming and friendly, but almost immediately I felt that this place was extremely dog-centric and not the right vet for my cat. The lobby was noisy with lots of dogs, loud talking, slamming doors, and general hustle. My cat was already stressed, so I felt even worse that it was so hectic. By comparison, our vet that we left in Oakland always felt very quiet and peaceful. All the rooms were full, so they put us in the "couch room" - basically a break room. I didnt have a problem with that per se, but since they left the door open, it remained noisy and their house cat kept wandering in. I love cats and think its great they have a clinic cat, but my cat gets really upset by the presence of other cats. Despite the fact that fortunately my cat was still in his carrier and they did not notice each other, I thought it was strange that they would not consider that all their patients might not appreciate this. The dog barking from the boarding downstairs was constant and audible through the whole visit - again, stressful for a cat. The vet tech was very kind, but the doctors bedside manner was just ok - she never sat down once, which gave off the vibe of being rushed. Their prices were very reasonable, but it seems like they might be accomplishing that with a large volume of clients and the speed that they put them through. One last slightly irritating thing was the man working on a table saw directly outside their door, so that when I exited with my cat, the sound of a table saw was what bid us farewell. Overall, I felt that I got reasonably good care, but they could and should take steps to make their atmosphere calmer, quieter and more welcoming to cats.

We love the Pet Vet on Patton. Our rescue dog, Miles, has had some issues since we adopted him. We have utilized the Pet Vet for boarding, doggie daycare, and vet visits as well. Most recently, we had a behavior appointment with a fill in Doctor, Dr. Emery. He was very positive, pointed out our dogs good traits and gave us several options to try in working with our dogs behaviors and tendencies. He and the techs were very kind and reassuring. Also, Candy, the lady who runs day care sat in on our appointment and was very helpful and reassuring as well. We appreciate the insight and methods suggested by the Pet Vet staff. The behaviorist wed been meeting with (outside of Pet Vet) suggested it was the end of the line and that we should give up on our dog. The Pet Vet made us realize that there is more that we can try and let us know that we were not alone. We got several print outs about dog behaviors, interactions with humans. Candy even showed us methods for working with our dog in letting him know when his behavior is unacceptable during this appointment. The staff is also amazing. Every time I go in, I am greeted warmly and always have a positive interaction with staff. I appreciate that they take the time to ask how Im doing, how the dog is, and also to report anything they notice in his behaviors or interactions. I cant say enough good about the Pet Vet on Patton. The facility is beautiful and the staff is top notch, professional and very caring. Thank you for all you do!

Unprofessional and rude. I brought my rescue here when I initially got her, about 4 years ago. The vets encouraged me to have her spayed, which I was initially hesitant about. After receiving weekly phone calls from the Pet Vet urging me to have her spayed, I finally took her in. My initial concern was her age, but after speaking with dog rescue advocates, finally chose to have the operation. A vet tech called me after the operation was over to let me know that during the operation, they discovered that she had already been spayed. They also "noticed her spay tattoo as they were putting her sutures in." Though I calmly explained that they should have seen it while they were shaving her for the spay, they still charged me the full amount of the operation, which I think was around $285. They also said it was her first time in their clinic, though she had been 4 times before, and tries to give her vaccinations that she had previously received from them. The next time I went in to pick up flea meds, they were extremely rude to both my dog and me. When I got home, I realized they had charged me twice for the Trifexis. I didnt even call them to complain, I just found a better vet.

This is, hands down, the cleanest and most pleasant veterinary office I have *ever* been to in a lifetime of having pets in cities from Boston to Chicago to Baton Rouge and others in between. They seem to have the facilities to cover a very comprehensive set of services which in other cities required trips to elsewhere (when my dog needed an MRI in another city I discovered it was customary there to send the veterinary patients - sedated - in a van over to the human hospital after hours!) Even better and way more important, Lea Osbourne ranks in the top 2 vets I have ever used: she is thoughtful, thorough, grounded, and kind. Her common sense approach means that she often finds great solutions to problems without constantly deploying the high tech, super invasive thing. She is excllent in how she talks to and handles animals. I trust her implictly; if I ever were away and unable to be reached while one of my pets were in her care I would feel totally confident about the decisions she made. Nice staff too. The front desk is competant and friendly, and the techs also good with their animal skills. Top notch all the way around.

I thought I was adopting a 10 year old dog and we would just have him a few years. Well, 9 years later, I still have him. And the Pet Vet on Patton has continued to provide us with budget friendly options for us as Henry ages. They take plenty of time to hear our concerns. Theyve also provided free, over-the-phone advice that addressed his diarrhea (very helpful!). A few years ago, due to a freak accident at the dog park, Henry had a fracture in his jaw (he got his mouth stuck under another dogs collar). The Pet Vet on Patton recommended that we not do surgery but just take anabiotics and anti-inflammatories and wait it out. My dog healed up just fine! I also received follow up phone calls from the doctor to check in and see how he was doing. All in all I think this is a great vet office. they have provided us with compassionate care and budget friendly options along the lifespan of my dog.

One would hope their pet care is better than their customer care. I have been a customer here for several years. I used them for any illness or urgent care for my animals. I did not perform my shots here though as I used local shot clinics as they happened in our community each year. I recently was trying to adopt a kitten, and I referenced Pet Vet as my veterinarian. The adoption agency called, and because I did not perform my shots here, they actually told the agency "dont do it". I feel this was extremely poor customer service. They could have responded that their records were not up to date and that they could contact me. But to flat out label my family as bad pet owners was very reckless and very hurtful. I will not longer be using Pet vet for my pets needs. I hope to find a vet that will understand that my pets are cared for and can exercise better customer care.
