Words cannot begin to describe how thankful I am to have found Dr. Vargas. Over the past 8 years, I have brought all of my dogs to Dr. Vargas for a variety of serious conditions - Dr. Vargas has literally saved their lives, thanks to her deep compassion and willingness to think outside of the box. Where other veterinarians offer limited treatment options, I can testify that Dr. Vargas develops a personalized plan that transcends the common paths. When my Old English Sheepdog, Abigail, was brought in with degenerative spine, Dr. Vargas tailored a specific plan using acupuncture to offer relief and increase her quality of life. When I was told by another veterinarian that my beloved Bichon Frise, Mandy, had limited time due to cancer, Dr. Vargas refused to give up on her. Numerous surgeries were conducted successfully followed by a regimen that included Chinese Herbs extending Mandys life by nearly 7 years. I am happy to say that Mandy lived out her full life expectancy due to Dr. Vargass willingness to devise plan after plan just for her. Then, there is Paislee, my Black Lab...when she was 6 years old, she started exhibiting signs of kidney and bladder issues. Dr. Vargas immediately started her on a customized plan including enzymes and Chinese Herbs...that was 3 years ago, and we have never had another issue! And now....well, Dr. Vargas has truly accomplished the impossible....I have a 12 year old domestic short-haired cat that we love dearly. Recently diagnosed with acute renal failure and possible lymphoma, Dr. Vargas response was that she really thought she could help her. Jeter was given one week to live by another doctor....that was three weeks ago. After weekly treatments, the masses under her chin have totally vanished. Weekly aquapuncture treatments have produced bloodwork results showing vast improvement in her kidney levels. We still have a long way to go, but as I write this, Dr. Vargas continues to monitor and adjust Jeters plan. My cat is no longer lethargic...she is doing things she hasnt done since she was a young girl. To say that Dr. Vargas is utterly amazing is such an understatement! For those who doubt the success of alternative treatment, I hope that my testimony will somehow provide you with another option. With Dr. Vargas, there is always hope...when one door closes, another one opens. She listens and truly understands! Your pets become her pets....I dont know what we would ever do without her!

Dear Dr. Vargas, Orchid Springs Hospital, Carlos&Staff I have been involved with dogs all my life, so I think people should consider reading this testimonial. First I was a pet owner, then a breeder, and now in my golden years a proud owner of both field champion dogs, conformation champion dogs and now in their senior years, couch potato dogs! So please dog owners listen up! As my senior years progressed my doctors have made me aware of just how important my dental hygiene is and to keep up with it because mouth infections travel into your blood stream, affect quality of life etc. and so this is true for our pets. I have always used a battery operated tooth brush with dog tooth paste on my dogs. They love it and in fact line up to have their teeth done. (must add they dont line up when I cut their toenails)! So when I had Carlos do a dental on my two dachshunds the results we got were shocking to say the least. Tess (11 years old) who we suspected had 2 possible pre-molar tooth issues in fact had major surgery with a scary possible tumor on her gums and some lower tooth issues as well. Carlos, Dr. Vargas and staff were able to biopsy everything, remove all infected teeth and today she is one happy camper. Now Woody (13 yrs. old) who thought he had escaped the dental monster (ha, ha... Carlos) was checked visually by Carlos and we all saw nothing; surprisingly presented to us one week later a huge bump under his eye. I just brought him along when picking up Tess from her cleaning. Carlos took one look and trying to be diplomatic said "oh, maybe he got stung by a bee, how about we take some x-rays". We did only to find out that he not only had a seriously infected carnasial tooth but many other infected teeth! None of this would have been noticeable unless we had checked by x-ray! So the real reason for my not only writing this testimonial to tell everyone how extraordinary Orchid Springs Animal Hospital is, but more importantly to encourages every pet owner to start budgeting for dentals on your pet. It is truly a life saver and will add years to your pets life. Please dont look at this as your vet is just trying to make money, this really is a life saver! In the olden days none of us realized this importance. If it were not for Dr. Vargas and her staff I might have lost my dogs very soon. So PLEASE take this seriously, thank you and good luck to all who read this! Lovingly, Sandy, Bob, Woody and Tess

Orchid Springs Animal Hospital is the best! They took special care of my dog, Treasure, for many years. He passed away a couple years ago when he was 16 years. I was impressed with the staff and Dr. Mitzi Vargas. She and her staff are such wonderful people, and Im just so thankful that I had an animal hospital that really cared for my dog as if he was a son of mine... not just a pet. I also believe that if it werent for Dr. Mitzi Vargas and her team, my dog would have passed at least a year and a half earlier. What a wonderful gift! I never had the courage to pick up Treasures remains because I had him cremated. It just broke my heart to go there, so they kindly spread his ashes peacefully, and sent me a very special letter of condolences. They just couldnt have been more professional and more heartfelt. I highly recommend Dr. Mitzi Vargas and Orchid Springs Animal Hospita! They have also taken care of my late mothers dog, Cody, who was a Briard, and he was a very big dog, and they would groom him meticulously since he was an Old English Sheepdog and had a lot of hair. They always did a wonderful job with him, and theyve also take care of my friends Macaw bird, Mickey, and birds are very difficult to take care of as far as clipping their beaks, their claws, and their wings. All kinds of animals, all kinds of services are available. They are just a top-notch crew and team. When you have an appointment with Dr. Mitzi Vargas, she spends time with you, and you dont feel rushed. Its just a wonderful, very clean place. I highly recommended Orchid Springs Animal Hospital, her team, and Dr. Mitzi Vargas.

We have 3 dogs, 2 doxies & a Min Pinscher. We have boarded them with Orchard Springs during vacations for 2 years. Our most recent encounter with Dr. Vargas was with our 11 year old male doxy, Snoopy. On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, he went from great to paralyzed within 2 hours. We took him to an ER, and there was nothing they could do and referred us to another DR the next day. On Monday, we took him to OSAH and Dr Vargas immediately tended to us(even though she was on vacation.) She tried numerous methods to help our little guy for a week, with little cost to us. But, it was his time to go, and we sent him to the Rainbow Bridge. The care, the love, the compassion from this team at OSAH was unbelievable. We have never felt such love from a Vet. They are the absolute best in FL. We have a new 6 yr old male, that Dr. V calls a sex slave, as he was illegally used to mate with standard doxies to create tweeny doxies. I know this is Gods gift to us for losing our Snoopy so quickly. His name is Lovebug, and he has all of Snoopys tenancies. The greatest team in FL! I cannot say enough about Dr. V and her staff - they are stupendous!!!!! And, when we say vacation to the dogs, they know they get to go to OSAH for fun times and lots of lovin!
