I have never been a fan of the dentist in general, and the staff has always been fairly nice so at first this place wasnt bad! Ive had a few hygienists that have not been very gentle and werent as friendly as others. Although I am giving this business 1 star, I have nothing bad to say about Dr. Barker. He has always been very patient and kind when it came to care and treatment. He wouldnt push anything on you and he knew how to make you feel comfortable. Recently I owed them money (a small amount- under $100) that apparently insurance didnt cover for my last visit. I will admit that I got a little lazy and kept forgetting to pay the bill, until I got a letter saying they DROPPED ME as a client. I have been going there for somewhere around 8-10 years. Never in my life have I seen a practice drop somebody over such a small amount of money. Not letting them be seen until it was paid in full is understandable... but completely dismissing them from your practice and asking them to find another dentist is absolutely insane and over the top. Aside from this incident, every one of my bills and appointments has been paid in full and taken care of right then and there. My family will continue to go to them while I find someplace else. Super disappointed and still pretty angry about the action they chose to take.

I dont know who wrote that bad review but I think they had the wrong dental office! Everyone at Athena Dental is great. The reception staff is always friendly and easily works with you to modify appointments. Check in and out is simple and they always print your next cleaning date on your receipt. The hygienist staff are very friendly and caring. I have never had a bad experience with a cleaning. They are gentle and considerate. They explain what theyre doing and where they might see problems. My coworkers always comment about how great they are with their kids. The offices and equipment are clean and comfortable. I regularly see Dr. Barker and he is fantastic! He always explains my options and gives me good advice. He does not insist on unnecessary treatments. Fillings are a breeze and hes patient, careful and caring. Ive also seen Dr. Blankenship and he has been nothing but friendly and caring. He is the primary dentist for several of my friends and they all recommend him as well. I recommend Athena Dental to all my friends. Nearly my entire office uses Athena. I have little doubt youll be happy with the doctors and staff at this office!

I never thought I would be able to give a five star rating for a dentist visit. The staff are so friendly & Dr. Barker was great with both my 5 year old daughter as well as myself. My daughter proudly proclaimed near the end of her first visit, "Mom I really like going to the dentist!" This is what prompted my decision to schedule an appointment for myself. I feel like the prices are reasonable and the consultations are thorough. Thank you Athena Dental! I can gladly recommend you with confidence to anyone needing your services.

I have been going to Athena Dental since I was 6 years old (almost 30 years). Going to their office is like going to see old family friends! They are incredibly professional with exceptional friendly service. Whenever someone asks me for a recommendation, I enthusiastically give them the contact information for Athena Dental. When a friend does go to Athena Dental based on my recommendation, they always tell me how they had a great experience! I cannot recommend them enough!

Ive been going to them for years along with my wife and kids. They are all wonderful people and very skilled at what they do. The doctors are at the top of their professions and are also wonderful people. You can see that wonderful attitude trickle down through the ranks. Efficient staff and comprehensive exam. Had previously written a good review but they lied to me about taking the type of insurance I had. I went there under false pretenses then one of the administrative staff had the gall to say its really my responsibility to check. This may be true but they should have told me that before they mislead me. I am disheartened and doubt i will come back.

Best experience ever! I had never liked going to the dentist but the entire staff here are amazing. Dr. B and Kelly are a great team. My daughters 1st appointment is in a few months and Kelly went above and beyond to make her comfortable and show her what everything does. The facility is very clean and they seem to have the latest equipment. Thank you!

A couple of the hygenists here are just sadistic. I made the mistake of asking them to be more gentle and kind with my four-year-old daughter, and I was rewarded with a punishing teeth-cleaning that resulted in more bloody guaze than Ive ever seen (short of an extraction), and left me with swollen gums for three days. I never went back.

I have been seeing Dr Blankenship for over thirteen tears the staff is amazing , the dental hygeneists are awesome I am very pleased with this dentist they are prompt , patient and show tremendous concern if you are looking for A great dentist and staff Athena Dental is who you need to call !
