***NOTE*** The rating for this place is largely bolstered by old reviews from before they switched owners/dentists.This is no longer Inman Park Kids Dental Spot, but is now owned by a chain called My Kidz Dentist. It is a totally different company with all new personnel. It is no longer a 4 or 5 star establishment. We came here based off of old reviews from before they changed and were sadly disappointed. See the posts below and notice the timeline. Dr. Brown no longer works here. Review: Came here after my 7-month old daughter took a fall and hit her tooth. The tooth moved, her gums were bruised and swollen, and she bled a lot immediately following the accident. We were scared and gave them a call on Sunday. We were grateful they answered and fit us in for an appointment for Monday morning. Unfortunately, it wasnt that great of an experience moving forward. We waited an hour before seeing the dentist. The technician that came in to do an x-ray was unclear in his communication. Apparently, despite taking x-rays, he failed to actually acquire photos that were usable. So we radiated our baby for no reason. We only found this out after inquiring to see the x-rays at the end of the appointment. They didnt plan to mention their failure. The doctor, when she finally came in, hadnt looked at our file, didnt know our names, and knew nothing about why we were there. She proceeded to move her fingers over our daughters bottom gums and tooth briefly, asked if shed thrown up or had trouble eating, and concluded with saying, "She looks fine...Why dont you make an appointment to come back in 3 weeks so we can check her out again. Wed love for you to make this your dentist and start with regular appointments. Do you want to go ahead and schedule a cleaning as well?" We felt like dollar symbols to them. They gave us a no-insurance discount, bringing our bill to $125. We went to our pediatrician immediately following. They looked her jaw over, inspected her tooth, reviewed her top gums, gave helpful tips on what to look for, had way more questions and way more tips, and counseled that we get x-rays to ensure there was no underlying damage.... Basically our pediatrician did a better job than our dentist, charged less, and then instructed us to get the very thing that this dentist failed to get. Also, they said infants dont need to get regular cleanings at the dentist until they are like 2 or 3 years old. We proceeded to go to a different dentist Wednesday and had a radically different experience. We waited 5 minutes to get in a room, and another 5 minutes before seeing the actual dentist who knew our names, file, and issue already. They did a phenomenal job, thoroughly checked her out, had way better bedside manor and seemed far more experienced with children. The dentist we saw was the owner of the practice, was super informative and caring, and offered a free follow up exam a week later if there were any further developments that were concerning. Told us to Facebook message them if we had any questions and would have a response in 10 minutes. He even called us a week later to check up on our daughter. They charged $99. If there were no issues, they suggested coming back 9 months later for a check up to ensure things were growing in properly. They said no need for cleanings until she was 2 or 3 (just like our pediatrician said.) They even gave us a baby tooth brush and floss and gave instruction on how to care for her gums and teeth. We got none of this at My Kidz Dentist. After those two superior experiences, I was a little mad with how we were treated at My Kidz Dentist. We basically paid for nothing, and they tried to get us on a completely unnecessary cleaning schedule. I called to explain and see if we could receive a discount and was told the financial department would call me the next week. I never heard from them. Called again, was told the same thing. Find another dentist. Theres better ones out there who actually do their job and charge less and arent just trying to milk you for $.

I brought my 2,5 year old daughter for a routine visit and before having been seen by either a hygienist or a dentist we were prompted to have X-rays made. When I expressed surprise at why a child so young should have X-rays, I was told it was to look for cavities. Except nobody actually looked in her mouth before that (her teeth are not touching yet and are barely out, so no concern about cavities between teeth). I wondered if they needed X-rays as an initial baseline and asked how often they did them and the answer was "every 6 months" (!!!!! - on a 2,5 year old???) When I refused, the dentist who saw her was visibly annoyed and told me that the irradiation she would get would be "no more than what we get walking in the street". I am a neurologist and quite frankly am appalled at both the lack of clinical approach and the BS I was told to explain this practice. Being a physician but not a dentist I still double-checked with our pediatrician and another dentist I know and both were surprised at the X-ray practice here. The only positive thing I have to say is about the hygienists - both ladies were wonderful, but I am not taking my child back to this place and advice everyone I know against it. I think this place is taking advantage of the excellent reputation it had under its previous owner (Dr Brown), but the current practice is really to be avoided.

This is not longer Dr. Browns practice. I didnt find out until my child was on the chair that Dr. Brown had sold the practice to Bibbs (I paid her, but never met her.) The hygienist was very nice. Everything else is just a bit sketchy. They insisted in getting Xrays even though my 6 year-old had them done 6 months ago. A Dr. Goldstein, not Dr. Bibbs, took the appointment and told me I should come back very soon and extract 2 of my childs baby teeth. I researched his name and I couldnt find him under the practice (or any other practice.) When I found a trusted dentist for a second opinion, I requested the records from My Kidz Dentist to be transferred. After leaving a message with the answering service from out of state and receiving no response, I was able to speak to someone in the front office of the N. Highland office. She said that it will take up to two weeks to release the records. If my childs dental problem is as serious as Dr. Goldstein had advised, then one would assume they would release them sooner. No, cant do was the answer. The records go to someone named Kelly in Carrollton and have to be requested from there. I called Kelly from Carrollton and had the pleasure of leaving a message with the answering service from out of state again.

DO NOT bring your children here. Dr. Bibbs is incapable of running a well functioning practice. My duaghter has been at least 5 times and ever visit there is a different doctor. They have absolutely no consistency of care. Our visit with Dr Bibbs lasted over 2 hours because she was unable to efficiently manage her patients. She also made me believe my daughter had a cavity and I only discovered this was a "watch area" after I went back in for what I thought would be a filling. Then, when we went back for her cleaning not even 6 months later it was a cavity that then turned into her needing a root canal (based on what yet another doctor at the practice told us). The icing on the cake is that they started working on her for the root canal without even telling us what they were doing. When we found out it was for a root canal we left immediately. However, that was not before they told us "well if X Dr. looks at it he may be able to do just a filling. So does this mean you had a college student posing as a dentist since she was only able to do a root canal. THE ABSOLUTE WORST EVER.
