This guy was terrible, rude, greedy, and just did not seem like he liked animals at all, or at least not pitbulls. I brought my 9 month old pit/mix puppy in because she was pregnant and wanted to make sure she had all her shots and what I needed to do to make sure the puppies would be healthy. First he tried to get me to buy a rabies vaccination even though she was already vaccinated 2 months prior, insisted on x-rays, and Ultra Sounds, even though you shouldnt give a pregnant dog an xray and an ultrasound iis only needed when something is wrong. After all that she had something growing on her eye, and I asked him what it was, he said she needed all kinds of tests done, for a lot of money. When I got the bill he charged me for asking about the growth. They were not very nice, and pretty rude and curt for being so expensive. I took her to the wellness clinic on peachtree and they told me that the growth was a congenital birth defect that didnt need to be removed or dealt with unless it started bothering her. Needless to say I will not be returning I think after reading these reviews this place was recommended based on previous management.

I went to pick or Mr. Maxnoglia (he’s a Senior Norwegian Forrest cat) from the Dr. today - and Mr. Max did not want to leave. He was walking around the hospital/office like it was his second home and when the Dr. walked away he followed her like a "puppy" really! He even found the “buffet” of food there for the resident cat – Dr. didn’t say a word and just gave a beautiful smile to him. Max is in love with his doctor. I even offered to leave him and come back at 8:00 when the office closed to get him so they could have more time together. Go figure - the Dr. washed his bottom, shaved his belly due to bad mats, took blood and then washed him and hes in love! If I did that at home and Id be in the emergency room due to severe scratches and would probably need stitches. But no Dr. can do anything and everything to him and he doesnt care. Got to love the Dr! I know Max does. Im almost jealous - she is so good and kind with Max and he can be somewhat of a royal pain to deal with.

This business is now under new management and I had such a horrible experience that I am changing vets. First of all, I was never informed by phone, email, face-to-face speech when I arrived, that I had a new veterinarian. I was surprised to see a new person behind the desk, and even more surprised when a new vet walked into the exam room. He failed to introduce himself, even when I stood to shake his hand. As a new vet, you should introduce yourself to your patients and get to know them. He didnt seem as though he liked animals at all, and did nothing to calm my nervous dog. I could hear the vet assistant talking about my dog and me right outside the exam room, thank goodness it wasnt anything bad, but this is just bad office etiquette. If I ever heard my primary physician or the nurse talking about me outside my room Id be pretty upset. When I left he said no thank you, no nice to meet you, nothing. Bad experience, will not be going back.

Earlier this year our oldest pet had to have his surgery. Our friend referred us to the North Hills Animal Hospital as this surgery successful rate is higher. We were scared that our Desi would be too old for the surgery or that his condition would be too advanced for the surgery to work. During our initial consultation with the veterinarian, he answered all of our questions honestly. He was very up front about there being no guarantees that the surgery would be 100% successful and that recuperation would require time and energy on our part. We elected to go through with the surgery. Desi came through splendidly and the surgery was a complete success. Post-surgery, the veterinarian and the staff were accessible and supportive. Ideally, one would prefer not to ever have to be in a position where surgery is the only option but if that is ever the case again, we will not hesitate to return here.

Dr. Shuykin, the new vet is awesome. We took a very young stray kitten we were saving in to see them and she was so warm and careful with it. You can tell she really loves animals. She and Tiffany, the vet tech were so gentle, our kitten was not traumatized once, even during blood draws for tests and his first shot. When Dr. Shuykin saw that I had a child, she asked if I wanted her to slightly trim the kittens front claws for us to cut down on the chance of cat scratch fever. The rates are extremely reasonable. I mean extremely. I would be shocked if they stayed the same once they began to get more business, the quality of care is worth much more. She gave me great advice on food and care, also; without pushing any product on me just to make a sale. Looking forward to our return visit.

Our 16yo lab recently took sick and we brought her to see Dr. Shuykin who did what she could to see if we could get her on the mend. After we took her home she took a turn for the worse. We called Dr Shuykin after hours and she quickly came back to her office and opened up the hospital so we could say good-bye to our baby girl. The dedication and compassion she and her staff showed us through this difficult time were above and beyond expectations. If you are looking for a new vet then North Hills Animal Hospital is the place to go. I can not thank them enough for what they did for us and our girl. A new 10 week old lab has recently joined our family and she is looking forward to her first visit to Dr Shuykin on Friday.

*** WARNING: Most, if not all, of the 5-Star reviews ARE FAKE! *** Unless all the clients that go to this vet, are also bad drivers who drive Hondas purchased at Curry Honda, get their body work done at Classic Collision, see a dentist in Augusta, Ga, and hire an attorney in Carrolton, Ga. I have been bringing my dog to this office for the past 3 years. Then all of a sudden, the clinic was sold to a new doctor without any notice. I have been giving the new dr a chance, but their fees keep increasing. Now, with him using a paid service to write fake positive reviews here, I am not coming back as I now question his moral and ethical judgement.

The vet owners have changed a few times but the current owner is a perfect fit for this clinic. Some of the techies are ok. The doctor is a people person but the receptionist is a real jerk. I had to put my dog to sleep and as I was loading my deceased dog into my car, she ran out and told me that I cant go without paying my bill. I told her that to let me put my dog in the car and I will pay the bill, $45.00. She felt that paying my bill was more important then the fact than I just lost a good friend of 14 years. Get rid of the receptionist. the doctor is great!!
