The worst vet experience of my life. I had been taking my dog to this clinic since he was a puppy and I loved the staff, the service, and value I received. In recent years they came under new ownership and seem to care more about their bottom line than providing good pet care. My dog has seasonal respiratory allergies. On our annual visit the tech and the vet tried to convince me that there was something horribly wrong with my dog and that he needed to be sedated and scoped immediately. In fact "he may have to be rushed to another clinic for emergency surgery." When I told them about the seasonal allergies (which had been noted previously in his file!) they insisted that it wasnt allergies even though the symptoms were the same from previous years. Like the other reviewer noted, they also told me that I was risking his life if I didnt leave him there and let them perform their very expensive tests. I was traumatized, crying, and felt completely helpless as I left him in their care. When I picked him up that afternoon it was unclear what was wrong with him. The Xrays didnt show anything. They gave me steroids, a bill for almost $900 and sent him home. It is my opinion that they took advantage of me and exploited my love for my dog to charge me for completely unnecessary and very expensive tests. I will NEVER return to this vet and hope that no one else will have to experience what I went through.

We brought our cat in because he was having laboured breathing. We were left waiting for 45 minutes while they examined him. We were told that x-rays were needed first thing to see the problem. $180 later he had inflamation and asthma. They wanted to move on to blood tests and many other expensive procedures. We love our cat but we wanted to wait and see if the steriods and anti-inflamitories would help. We left him for the night and were told that with the oxygen and emergency care it would be over $600 for the initial treatment. It was like $100 an hour for oxygen??? He wasnt there for more than 4.5 hrs. Ive had animals at emerc. vets before and oxygen was included in the $180 for the visit for the whole night. When we went in to take him home in the morning the told us "you are risking his life by taking him now", we brought him home and gave him the full course of steriods. He was fine, he hasnt had any more attacks. Isnt asthma a chronic inflamation of the bronchis? They charges over $600 for one bad allergic reaction. He has even been outside since, with no recurrance. They were just trying to get a little deeper in our wallets. Ill never go there again.

I wont give them a 1 star review simply because they are friendly, but of course that is how they draw you in. I had a sick kitten I recently adopted and was looking for some help to cure her URI. After 1 visit it was $250 for 2 medicines, the visit, and an eye stain. This seemed very pricey to me but my roommate and I paid it. We came back 5 days later stating there was no improvement and they then gave us another $150 dollars worth of charges and medicines. I called the shelter I got my cat from (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO GETS CATS FROM SHELTERS TO DO THIS) and they told me what to do to take care of the cat and it was far cheaper. VCA is all about price gouging and making bottom line over fixing the problem. I do not recommend it unless you want to go through the same experience I went through. Other than friendliness and location (less than 5 minutes from my house) this company is not something Id recommend to anyone who loves their pets.

There are two primary vets here: A man (the Owner), Dr. Pope, and a woman, Dr. Gaines. The two vets split the week up (this may not be exact): Pope is there 4 days during the week, Dr. Gaines is there Sat-Tues. They arent busy enough to support two vets on staff at all times. Before moving to Atlanta, I took my dogs to a clinic that typically had 4 vets on duty on any given day. If you want to see Dr. Gaines, you have to see her Sat-Tues. Thats fine until you have an emergency or want a procedure done on a certain day. Anyway, it is what it is. As far as treatment, Ive been satisfied with the way my dogs have been served. I prefer Dr Gaines, but that isnt to say that I think Dr. Pope isnt qualified. Its just a personal thing. The clinic is a part of the VCA chain. To learn the good, bad, and the ugly of that arrangement, you can do additional research. Ill continue bringing my dogs here. Thats the best testimonial I can give.

I would NOT go to this vet if your pet is having an emergency issue. Ive had to bring my cat in three times in the past three days because they keep misdiagnosing him! We found out today that the first two doctors (out of the three in total that weve seen) who looked at our cat were INTERNS who werent qualified and should not have been allowed to diagnose our cat without some kind of supervisory approval. They prescribed my cat medicine and procedures that we now know are unrelated to his condition and now hes peeing blood and in immense pain. Weve spent $500 in visits, tests, and prescriptions and are no closer to helping my poor baby. Were close maxing out our credit card now and I dont know how were going to be able to afford further treatment at a different vet. Save yourself and your pet the pain and frustration of this place and go somewhere else.

The staff here is very friendly, but thats not what its all about. I feel that I should be able to walk into a vet and walk out with my problem answered. It seems the times I have been I havent left with answers just maybes and could bes. My cat has been here multiple times and Im still having the same problem with her urinating . I get told clean her litter box more often or isolate her. HOW LONG DO YOU EXPECT ME TO ISOLATE MY CAT?! The male Vetenarian there did not make me leave feeling comfortable when I took her for the very first time. I just took it as me being overwhelmed having a new kitten thats urinating everywhere. Also she is blind and I took her there for that and he didnt give me much help with that situation either. You are the vet, thats what you went to school for. I expect more from you than the answers I left with.

There are no words to describe the people at this facility. My dog had never been boarded before and he can have severe social anxiety. The team @ this VCA location was very patient with all the questions I had when I first started bringing my pup and entertained all my (probably over the top) requests. The team absolutely understands busy life schedules and has been more than accommodating and helpful when things come up. They all know my pup by name and he has absolutely taken a liking to them all, which makes me feel so much better about having to leave him. I am now being moved again for my job, and can honestly say that one of the biggest cons is not being able to continue using this facility with this team. I can not say enough about the team at this facility. I am so very thankful for them.
