I have been taking my dog here for about 3+ years and never had a problem until Peachtree Animal Hospital changed ownership to VCA. I was never given a notice and all the vets/staff changed. What really upset me the most though was the last time I went in for a routine check-up with Dr. Jones (had seen him once before). They took my dog on a leash to the back to give her the shots (like they always do). I kept hearing her cry and wimper but I thought that was just because she was getting stuck with a needle. About 7-10 minutes later, a vet tech followed by Dr. Jones carried her back into our waiting room with a MUZZLE on. If you know my dog, she would NEVER deserve to be put in a muzzle. She wouldnt hurt a fly unless she felt threatened or was scared for her life. Not only was the muzzle on but she was also foaming at the mouth and shaking to death. I asked what happened and Dr. Jones said she tried to "lunge" at him. This really caught me off guard and like I said, totally out of character for her. I told Dr. Jones that she has never done that before and he said, "Oh, but she has" and flips through his charts like he is looking for it in his notes but he never found anything. Even if she had, why didnt anyone tell me about this?? I will say the vet tech was extremely nice throughout this ordeal and kept petting my dog telling her it was going to be ok. However, I was extremely disappointed with Dr. Jones, his attitude, his professionalism and his lack of care for my dog. I have a feeling he "profiled" my dog because she is a pit-mix breed but like I said, has never shown any aggression. Something happend that day to my dog that made her fear for her life. I was so upset, I started balling crying in the car on the way home after I paid a crazy high bill - side note about the vet..they are pricey! Im not sure what VCA has done to the old Peachtree Animal Hospital but its not the same as it use to be. I vowed to my dog I would never take her back there.

Peachtree Animal Hospital provides the WORST service, they did not listen to my instructions and I was left with a bald and traumatized dog. On top of that the receptionist found my situation so humorous she was fighting back giggles the entire time. I just took my Border Collie to Peachtree Animal Hospital and was appauled by the service i recieved. Because my dog has long hair I like to get her trimmed in the summer time. Trimming your dog for a "summer do" however does not mean shaving the entire dogs body including head and tail. Apparently though the employees at Peachtree are completely incompetent and dont realize this. I gave SPECIFIC instructions not to shave my dogs tail or head just trim her extremities and lightly shave her body so that she would be cooler. I didnt even recognize her though when they brought her out, I thought they were bringing me a pit bull puppy her hair was clipped so closely even on her tail and head. I had also told them not to give her shots until I could be there with her since she gets nervous. AGAIN they failed to listen to my request and vaccinated her while I was not present. THEN the icing on the cake was the unprofessional and insensitive receptionist who was fitting back giggles as I stood horror struck over the sight of my bald dog and proceeded to smirk at me as I demanded a refund and asked why they couldnt follow my directions. Needless to say Peachtree Animal Hospital is the absolute WORST vet in Atlanta and I would STRONGLY suggest taking your vet else where since they cant listen to the simplest instructions and their staff are beyond unprofessional

The rates are ridiculous. I have spent over 2K in the past year on general maintenance on my 2 dogs. The last visit pushed me over the edge as they charged me $60 just for an office visit to look at my dogs eyes (absolutely nothing else) and another $40 for eye drops that cost $19.95 through pet meds. In the past they over charge for a regular visit but then they want you to return for a recheck and want you to pay another office visit. These prices change every time I go but plan on paying $50 to $60 for a visit or a follow up. Another thing is they just saw one of my dogs a month prior and to simply get a rabies shot wanted to charge me for another office visit of $55 and of course another $15 for shot and $5 for disposal. By the way the $100.00 I spent on my dogs eyes did not help and they got worse and she is almost blind due to the medicine they prescribed and I had took her to another vet. I would not recommend this place to anyone. BTW the staff still does not know my dogs name and they get their charts mixed up constantly and 2 different breeds and color.

So very disappointed with the results after the visit during the visit was excellent customer service was great but with just getting my pets I wanted to go get it checked out at this hospital I asked the Vet if they thought that my animal would be pregnant because I saw the signs I have never owned this type of animal nor do I know anything about how this animal gives birth or anything of that nature but I wouldve expected the veterinarian to know and unfortunately the veterinarian didnt think that my animals pregnant even though I had a feeling that she wouldve been and still gave her so many vaccines that ended up coming up to around $180 worth turns out my animal was pregnant and had babies after I mention that I suspected that and will being pregnant I still got a call back twice for getting my animal vaccinated again which would be so unnecessary for any type of pregnant anything human or animal I will not be returning to this location let alone definitely considering not coming back within the VCA family

Ive been taking my cats to this hospital long before it became VCA and continue to do so. According to the previous reviews, It appears they have made some good changes. I was there earlier this week with one of my cats. I walked in around 2pm with no appointment and was kindly greeted at the front desk. I apologized for not making an appointment first, but this was urgent. I was seen by Dr. Kahn no less than 10 minutes later. He was so friendly, kind and attentive to my cats needs and fears..and immediately knew what her problem was. After a few injections and meds to be sent home with her, we were on our way. Dr. Kahn personally called me two days later to see how my kitty was doing!! That I liked very much. Thank you Dr Kahn!! This hospital is a little pricier than perhaps some others, but Ive always entrusted my kitties to this hospital. Dr. Ford is also a wonderful Vet...she has been my cats primary for years, but she was not available when I popped in without an appointment.
