I followed the ambulance here; the patient arrived in the room at 9:30am The attending physician, Dr. Hamilton did not come to up date the patient until I requested to see her. Prior to my request to speak with Dr. Hamilton we had sat in the ER room 3 hrs (12:30pm). The care and patient interaction at Atlanta Medical Center South Campus is subpar. The staff including the doctor I interacted with do not move with any urgency, the doctor did nothing but make excuses. After speaking with the doctor about her not checking in with the patient the ball began to roll. I dont doubt that there are many moving parts and that the doctors depend on other departments to assure that their patients get the necessary care...feed back is critical for patients and their families. However a simple explanation, good bedside manners, and professional demeanor would be more tolerable then a lackadaisical attitude. This hospital is currently part of the well star system; I have not had this unfortunate experience at any other location. Speaks volumes!

This time was much better than the other times ive been here i wss admitted having a serious asthma attack it took forever to be triaged and even given a breathing treatment and i could barely talk and breathe when i got there i waited over 20mins before they even gave me a treatment and if it wasnt for one of the nurses in triage who felt sorry for me i wouldnt have had one then i dont know her name but i thank God for her she helped save my life by making them give me one because she said she couldnt take my condition anymore it was getting to her the way i was struggling to breathe and was coughing really bad but once i got to the back the Dr saw to it i was taken care of immediatly and when i was admitted i was treated very well by the nurses and the pcp dr on duty i was in room 3113 they even remembered me from being in there months ago that made me feel good so this hospital isnt all bad once youre admitted the 3rd floor staff was awesome even the social worker and case mgr on duty the days i was their were awesome

I visited the ER with pain and swelling in my legs, feet and ankles. I was in so much pain that security brought a wheelchair to my car. I was there for seven hrs & only a pain pill. I was not sent to the lab for blood or urine. The level of service was poor, communication poor & they treat the patients like they really dont care. Then as I lay in the hallway....they carried out a dead person right past me. I know everyone who goes to ER doesnt make it back home, but to wheel dead people out with sick people lined on both sides of the walls was somewhat disturbing. Maybe they can have special area just for the funeral homes. I will not go back or recommend!

I have ongoing health issues so I am often in the ER...I have had an overall good experience at this hospital. The nurses and doctors move fairly fast i think the longest i have been in was 6 or 7 hours mainly due to tests
