My 86 year old grandmother was taken here after she fell and busted her head open. Her injury was so bad that they almost airlifted her. She was bleeding severely and lost consciousness several times. When we got there, we were told that she had not been put into a room yet, so we waited. About an hour later, we heard nothing so we went to the front desk to see what was going on and the lady rudely told us that she would call us when she was put into a room. After even more waiting we again went to the desk to see what was going on, and apparently my grandmother had been put into a room a long time ago, as soon as she had gotten there, and the front desk staff didnt notice, and acted like we were an inconvenience to them. Im sorry for being worried sick about my injured grandmother. This is an emergency room full of worried family members. None of us want to be here. Have some compassion and professionalism and stay on top of what you are supposed to be doing. The medical staff was extremely unorganized. You should know what tests have been done and which tests need to be done. Do not come into the room and ask my severely injured grandmother what tests have been done - it makes you look like you have no idea what is going on, which is NOT a good impression when my family members LIFE is on the line. My grandmother was covered in blood for several hours and when I asked a nurse if someone could please come help her clean up, a nurse came into the room and simply handed ME a package of wet wipes. She did not get a clean gown for over two hours and never got a pillow for her head. The doctor made a remark about how slow they were that day, which makes this all the more frustrating. After all the tests were done, they decided to move her into a room in the hospital and keep her overnight. My grandmother sat in the ER, covered in blood and with no help from nurses, for SEVEN HOURS before she was moved to a room. After that, she repeatedly asked for a nurse to help her bathe so she could get the blood out of her hair and NO ONE ever came to help her. When she asked for water to drink, they brought her a plastic baggy with water in it. You mean to tell me this entire hospital doesnt have a cup she can drink out of? I understand what it is like to be a nurse, because I am also a medical professional, although it is for animals. I know what it is like to be slammed and exhausted. I know that things happen, especially in an ER. But my grandmothers experience here was unacceptable and my advice to the staff of this hospital is to GET IT TOGETHER and have some compassion and professionalism. I would never want anyone elses love one to be treated the way my grandmother was, and I would be ashamed to be a part of this staff. My boss would kill us if any of these things happened where I work. It is sad that I can say that animal hospitals are run better and have more professionalism and compassion than this place.

Guest service is aweful at the receptionist desk on third shift. The ladies are unhelpful, snappy, and rude. They treated our family unkindly and couldnt even respectfully talk to us without having an attitude, or rolling their eyes, or seeming annoyed when approached by anyone. Our first night, we were told only 2 guest at a time in the trauma room. We respected that. The next day, ALL DAY, they allowed us to have a third visitor, sometimes fourth visitor in the room because it was taking our family forever to get a room. When it came time for shift change, a 3rd shift lady named Chanelle from the receptionist desk came into our room to discuss who was allowed and not allowed into visit. First, she didnt even know our families name, she asked dumb-roundly, "uhm, whats your name?" Afterwards, she noticed we had a 3rd visitor and that she had a problem with it. When we tried explaining to her that we had been allowed a 3rd visitor all day, she rudely put her hand up and waved us a way, yelled in the hall to the third shift nurse asking about our third visitor. And when the nurse approved our third person, the receptionist didnt even say anything to us except walk away. No apologies or anything. I stepped away for a few hours to get a break and let other family members have time inside the trauma room, and when I came back, some family had left but didnt return the badges. The badges were left in the room. I explained to her what happened, and instead of going to the room to find and retrieve the extra badges in the room, she told me she couldnt let me back without a badges. I understand the badges should have been returned and it wouldnt have been complicated, but I feel as a guest of this hospital, that her actions could have been a lot more helpful and less disrespectful. And one other receptionist next to Chantelle had an attitude with me when I snapped at her, but honestly, treat others how you want to be treated. She wanted to get rude with me, so right back at her sweetie, its not me whose losing my job. I had never met a more unprofessional staff like these two receptionists. However, all the nurses are very helpful, very friendly, attentive, and caring. Our family is pleased with the nursing staff and doctors at this hospital. I would love this hospital more if I wasnt treated so poorly upon first arrival.

The Medical Center ER has very poor customer service and the staff is very uncompassionate. It is a dirty facility. Everywhere I was in the bldg., I noticed blood on the floor or on furniture. The waiting time to just b looked at or spoken to is unacceptable. A greater percent of the faculty is rude and makes you feel as if you are bothering them when approached. It is my opinion, but if you dont like dealing with people(sick people) Dont work somewhere where your whole job revolves around people and Their needs.. It is your job, that is what you are there for, to help, assist, aid someone in their time of need and desperation. I saw a young boy come into the medical center E.R., in his fathers arms, unresponsive, blood coming out of his nose and a fever of well over 100*. No one knew what to do, or moved to do anything, they stood at the counter for approx. 7-10 min. (if not longer) until the whole waiting room and the parents of the child started to get irate! Finally the father just made his way to the back to find Someone that would help! While the staff stood around dumbfounded and just kept saying "Well we have to find somewhere to put him back there. " While the other lady in a suit just stood there in shock and said "I dont know what to do, what do I do?" My prayers go out to that family! Ive been in and out of the Medical Center ER for 2 years now, and they still have yet to find out whats wrong with me. First cause I had no insurance, so I just kept getting tossed around and ignored. I arrived approx. 9pm last night and wasnt seen until approx. 130am, and only due to the fact that I had a seizure right in the waiting room, which is the reason why I was there in the first place. When I arrived there were not very many people and yet I did not leave the ER until approx. 4am. I will defiantly be going else where for my medical needs from now on. This is just my opinion about the Medical Center. I hope yours is a better one!
