I had the privilege of interning with Dr. Berner while finishing my Doctorate of Chiropractic. After studying (and teaching) a different chiropractic technique for almost four years and seeing great results with it, I completely shifted the focus of what I wanted to do in practice based on what I saw at Berner Family Chiropractic. While having spent some time with some excellent chiropractors who practiced pure, high quality, objective, conservative, and specific chiropractic, I had never seen results delivered like what I saw at Dr. Berners. Id never seen such a high percentage of patients improve to such a high degree. Again, Ive spent a lot of time with great chiropractors, and I had never seen such a wide spectrum of conditions improve so much, so consistently. The approach Dr. Berner uses is based in objective, measurable data which allows him to know with certainty that he is doing what he planned to do and correct if/when there is room for improvement in his approach. Unfortunately its tough to find many doctors of any profession as willing to put their money where their mouth is and include and educate the patient during the whole process on their own progress using objective criteria. There is no guess work, belief system, or taking his word for it - the patient gets to see exactly what changes are taking place using state of the art digital x-ray analysis and feel the changes for themselves. This approach is the most gentle style of adjusting Ive ever seen and much of that is thanks to how specific and detailed the analysis is. He uses digital x-ray to get a 3D representation of where the Atlas (1st cervical vertebra) sits in space relative to the skull, bone beneath it, and all of their relationship to the brainstem and spinal cord. This allows for very precise and delicate adjusting to stimulate very impactful biomechanical and neurological change. The is never any twisting or cracking either. The best surgeon is not the one making the most incisions - the same is true of the chiropractors working on your spine and influencing your nervous system. Less but better. Also, about Dr. Berner as a person; he is wildly (I sometimes say neurotically) committed to his craft. He treats every patient as an opportunity to change a life and genuinely wants nothing more than to help his patients to the absolute best of his constantly improving abilities. I regularly send x-rays of my patients to him for advice and a second opinion. Cant say enough about Berner Family Chiropractic, Dr. Berner and the Orthospinology subspecialty of Upper Cervical he has pursued.

When I first stepped into Dr. Nathans office I was in terrible pain. He barely touched me, said that would be all for that day and asked me to trust him because that adjustment was all that I needed. I left suspicious and kind of frustrated, because I was used to having my spine "cracked" from top to bottom. Two days later I was better. Not great, but better. I kept on seeing him, signed up for the treatment and got A LOT better. Then I got pregnant with my 3rd child. Being a 38 year old lady who has always had back problems, I was expecting a terrible pregnancy with a lot of pain. I couldnt be more wrong. I went to see him a few times during the pregnancy, and my back supported very well my 10lbs 5oz baby. After the delivery, I resumed running and normal exercise: my back pain made me remember its always been there and it was sensitive. I was in A LOT of pain. I went back to see him, loving him to death but doubting this one he would be able to fix. And, again, he said it could take a few visits but he would put it back in place. And AGAIN he was right: here I am, running and doing crossfit, with a perfect spine. What is his secret? I dont know. He is way too careful to even touch someone. He wont make any adjustment before he has a clear visibility of your full spine (which she does with his hi-tech x-ray machines). Every time you are back he scans your back to see what you need and if you need anything. There is never one visit that is like the other. Each visit is different and each time he assesses your situation to see what he can do and if he should do anything. I think he is a great doctor. I am really glad I met him, and I am happy to say that today I have a normal life with a spine that has always caused me trouble. And now, it doesnt anymore. Do you know how much pain medication I need to deal with it? NONE! That is just awesome. My recommendation is: when in doubt, pay at least one visit. Give it at least one chance. You will see the difference.

I have been told my whole life that one leg is 1/4 inch shorter than the other. I went to see Dr Berner, a, based on reviews and b, based on proximity to my home. His thoroughness in evaluating you prior to adjusting you is beyond comprehensive, with state of the art x-ray equipment. He spends most of the appointment calculating what he needs to do by evaluating your x-rays. Did I say thorough? His adjustment was one I had never encountered before, having only been to a handful of chiropractors in my lifetime, who like to adjust your spine and neck from top to bottom. Dr Berners method is entirely different, he practices a form of chiropractic that only a handful of other doctors in the country use. Its very unique, very non invasive, and takes seconds. The results are astounding. My legs are even, my hips straight. Truly a master within his discipline. If youve tried other chiropractors, only to be disillusioned, this is your person, your go to guy. He truly believes in fixing the problem in as few visits as possible and getting you out the door. Not one to have you constantly coming back. I seldom write reviews, and less seldom five star ones. Thats how good this guy is. He WANTS you to heal. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!!

I have been adjusted by various chiropractors my entire life so I am very familiar with chiropractic care. I have had several whiplashes and accidents throughout my life and after each accident chiropractic care has helped me heal. Until the last accident. Nothing seemed to eliminate the neck and low back pain I was having. Then I went to Dr. Berner. His technique was different than any I had experienced in the past. He was VERY specific, taking x-rays and measurements of my skull and cervical spine. After one instrument adjustment (which was surprisingly gentle) the neck and low back pain was gone and stayed gone. He would check me each time I went in and most of the time needed no adjusting. Occasionally I would get another adjustment. I so appreciate all the care I received from Dr. Berner. Im only sorry I moved to California and can no longer be treated by him.

As a yoga instructor I can tell you that Dr. Berners philosophy towards wellness is in tune with the yoga community and holistic methods of healing. He believes strongly in the bodys innate power to heal itself with the right stimilus. He doesnt look to treat symptoms, but works to unravel the root cause of the misalignment using his state-of-the-art equipment along with his knowledge and experience of analyzing data to fine-tune his adjustments. His passion for precision and accuracy are the keys to his success in helping so many who could not find relief elsewhere. I love reading the real-life, visually documented stories of success where in so many cases, he doesnt just realign the spine, he changes peoples lives by giving them the freedom to move again. Highly recommend!
