We were visiting St Simons with our dogs and ran out of one of their anxiety medications. He has severe issues with thunderstorms and fireworks. We contacted this vet for emergency assistance for 2 pills to get us through until we got home. Our local vet in Atlanta was willing to call over a prescription but they refused. They told me that if I wanted to bring my pet in for an exam, they would write the prescription. I was informed that their standard exam rate is $70 and the medication would be on top of that! I about fell over. Thats twice what I pay for a high end vet in Atlanta. This is a vet that is not in this business for the welfare of pets but for money. Ive worked for veterinary offices and I know this type of place. They will provide excellent service but you will always overpay. These types of places will inflate rates and charge you for things you dont need. If you inquire into their pricing, they will tell you that they are a subsidiary of a larger corporation, which is what they told me during my interaction with them. At their prices and treatment of an emergency situation, I would highly recommend seeking help elsewhere.

I took my cats to Island Animal Hospital to get a second opinion and Im glad I did! (See my review of Coastal Animal Hospital) Everyone of the staff was knowledgeable, accommodating and pleasant. They saw all five of my cats the same day and even called to check up on everyone. My cats are on the mend thanks to Island Animal Hospital. We are new to the area and we have found our new vet!

They were all so very nice! I moved to SSI, 3 wks ago from VA, and my cat I noticed on Saturday had a swollen ear. They worked with me on the time and were all so wonderful with my Coopurr. Highly recommend them. Such a good feeling to find a comfortable place and good people to care for my kitties. A big relief... Thank you Island Animal Hospital!!

WOW! I feel so lucky to of found this office. Dr. McGoldrick is wonderful. The staff is kind, courteous and helpful. Everyone is so compassionate. If you are looking for a vet look no more.
