My (then 2 year old) Border Collie/Cattle Dog mix, Morgan was extremely ill. From the time we adopted her (at 8 week), she has experienced severe digestive and apsorption issues. We tried everything under the sun to help our sweet baby. The vet we had been going to just chalked it up to sensative stomach, after several x-rays, probiotics and Tests for parasites (which were negative). I was insistent that there was a bigger issue, but was dismissed. As sick as she was on a regular basis, she was still always energetic and could jump 10 in the air to catch a frisbee. One day, last September, she became so week she could barely even walk. I was devastated. When I called our regular vet they were very cold, and even unaccomadating about getting her in. A friend of mine urged me to get her in to Dr. Chatterjee right away, and that is what I did. Long and short of it (after some blood work to rule out a pancreatic disease)she was diagnosed with irritable bowel disease. We were given a powder for her food to help with the acute inflammation and infection, and she was put on prescription food. No more treats or bully sticks, just prescription food. As hard as that was, almost 6 months later our baby is healthy, happy, has gained some (much needed) weight, and is no longer having to live with chronic pain, nausea and issues with her stool. On top of the fact that he saved our sweet baby, he is incredibly kind and caring. As is the entire front desk staff. The facility is immaculate and beautiful. They also work with you with finding the most affordable options for treatments for your pet. I could go on and on, this is by far the best vet office ever!!

My first encounter with this practice was on the sad occasion of the death of my 14 year old German Shepherd, who took an absolutely out of nowhere turn one morning. My own vet was closed, so I called IPAH and asked them to see him; they got him right in and made the unfortunate diagnosis of a ruptured tumor in his spleen. Dr Chatterjee waved the professional fees for the diagnostic ultrasound, and the entire staff was magnificently kind and supportive as I had to have my best friend put down. A few weeks later I brought my lab in for his annual exam and vaccinations, plus to have a growth on his foot looked at that our old vet had casually diagnosed two weeks earlier as "a tumor--well watch it and if its still there in a month its probably cancer." Dr. Chatterjee examined the foot correctly and determined it was actually infected; prescribed antibiotics and a followup to determine the actual cause of the growth. He then gave me the option of three year vaccines--something I had never been offered in the past; changed our parasite control to a combination product instead of several different expensive products, and provided a complimentary pedicure. All of this cost less than the normal office visit and one year vaccines at my old vet. I see several reviews here complaining of price jacking at this place, but I am not seeing this at all. What I am seeing is outstanding professionalism, courtesy, and a place I feel confident my pets will get the best care possible.

This review is long overdue. I have been taking my dog here for the past ten years. Dr. Ristich and his staff at Indian Prairie Animal Hospital are beyond exceptional. The technicians are patient and compassionate whenever I call with questions or concerns about my dog. Dr. Ristich’s bedside manner exceeds my very high expectations. He takes his time with my dog and I during every appointment, and he makes sure I am clear on everything that is going on with my pet. He never suggests unnecessary tests or procedures, and he is knowledgeable on the most up-to-date treatments and medications. I would never consider taking my dog anywhere else. The new facility is an added bonus - very clean and top of the line. I have found the pricing here to be very fair based on the remarkable treatment my dog receives during each and every visit. I would never sacrifice her treatment just to save a few dollars. The professional knowledge of Dr. Ristich is worth every penny and then some!

I have been searching for a good vet and thought I found one with IPAH. I was wrong again. Some of the staff seem snobby or grumpy. Not very willing to assist you or very friendly. I was not a big fan of Dr. Ristich - he was nice to my face, but seemed to be "fake". I have asked for multiple estimates from IPAH on how much it would cost me to neuter my 25lb male dog and each time the price is always over $350!! My most recent estimate was $470 for neutering. For a 25lb dog?!?! After finding a different vet, I called IPAH to have them fax me my dogs records and the staff informed me that there is a $10 fax fee for my dogs records. hahahaha. I truly believe that this place is looking to milk its customers for all the money they have. And after reading lasinge05s review - I am convinced that this clinic is not where my dog belongs.

I really like this place! Everyone there seems to really care what happens regarding your beloved family member, especially Dr. Chatterjee! Every receptionist and technician Ive dealt with is very friendly and knowledgeable! They all seem to go out of their way to make sure your family member is well taken care of! They wont "sugar coat" things just to make you happy. Their top priority is to insure that your family member is healthy and happy! I took my cat to another vet before this place and I didnt like them because they didnt seem to care. Indian Prairie Animal Hospital has shown me numerous times that they are here to make your family member healthy! To everyone in the Indian Prairie area, bring your beloved there if you care about your familys wellbeing!

Dr. Ristich will always have a special place in our hearts and has cared for every pet since we moved to the area 12 years ago. When our aging beloved black lab had to be put down, I didnt want to put her through going for a car ride into a building that terrified her. Dr. Ristich came to the house where she could pass away peacefully in her familiar surroundings and took her back with him for cremation (I will add at no additional cost since some people have mentioned cost). This made a truly devastating experience much more tolerable. He is awesome and obviously committed to his furry patients well-being from birth to death. He now sees both our dog and cat and I would never switch vets. As others have said, you get what you pay for!

Sadly, we had to put our beloved dog, Maya, to sleep almost one year ago. Dr. Sam Ristich and his staff at Indian Prairie Animal Hospital took excellent care of her from the time she was six-months old (when we moved from out-of-state) until her last day on this earth, which was nearly twelve years later. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Ristich and his staff and have recommended his animal hospital to others on a number of occasions. The atmosphere, that they work hard to create, was especially comforting during some tough diagnosis days, throughout the years, and we felt nothing but compassion toward our loss, at the end.
