I HAD a 12 year cat that lived with my mother that had become sick. Not wanting to stress her out with a long car ride my mother took her to Cermak animal clinic since it is so close to her house. Dr. Ahern had NO staff. He examined the cat by taking her temp. That was it. He NEVER listened to her lungs or heart. He explained that without a 160.00 blood test he didnt know what was wrong. When my mom explained that she could not afford that he just gave her some antibiotics and said..."Well I dont know then...try this". When the anibotics were not helping she contacted the vets office asking what she should do. "DR." Ahern told her well keep giving them to her and leave her alone to rest. Needless to say my cat passed away. Based on her symptoms after talking to my mother and two other vets it seems the cat had Pneumonia. He would of known this if he had listened to her lungs. This however is not the worst part....when my mother took the cat back there to drop her off for cremation services he proceeded to take my cat out of her box by her back legs like a dead rabbit. This is in FRONT of my mother at the front desk of the clinic. He then put her in a bag and sqeezed out the air in front of her. Spun the bag around and tied it like a trash bag and then put her in the freezer that he has right by the front door. This story to me was more that i could even understand. I work with animals every day and was blown away by the lack of care and information. As well as his very brutal display of lack of sympathy for a grieving pet owner. Please if you value your pets in anyway do NOT go to this place.

I learned of this vet from a woman in N Riverside who spoke very highly of the Cermak Animal Clinic for her dogs veterinarian care . Previously we had routinely taken our pets to the Cat Practice on Chicago Ave in Oak Park and later to the VCA Berwyn Animal Hospital in Berwyn. We believe our pets receive equal or better levels of care at the Cermak Animal Clinic and at a much more reasonable cost. We recommend this veterinarian very highly.

My family and I have been taking our dogs here since I was a little girl. Dr. Ahern is the best. My service has always been wonderful. This is not an animal hospital its a clinic. I see some negative reviews about Ahern not doing "all" he can do. This is not true. I have personally recommended Ahern to at least a dozen other people and they have all loved the clinic.

Dr. Mark and Susan provide consistent, compassionate care. I have worked with animals for many years, dogs are my primary business. Dr. Mark is thorough, patient, and provides superior care. He cared for my personal dog, Junior, for 12 + years and was very comforting during quality of life decisions. I recommend Dr. Mark to all my clients and friends.

This guy.... I called about having my 14 year old cat being put to rest. He was Soo insensitive over the phone. He told my to call a humane society bc they are cheaper.. All I can say is, the tone in his voice & His insensitive response was harsh. I would Never take any of my pets to this location again.

First visit went smoothly second time I try to make an appointment the vet was extremely rude and said If i dont like his procedures than i can take my business elsewhere, Im shocked at the customer service. What an unpleasant experience.

Dr. Ahern is the best! He is so practical and very economical. We take our dog to him and absolutely trust him without question. We would not go to any other vet.
