I worked here for about 3 months..at first it started off great I was getting the hours I needed while attending school, and everything was fine. Jessica who was office manager was my favorite! Unfortunately, she doesnt work there, but hopefully for good reason. The last time I worked was in Aug/14 and I was surprised that all assignments were now too far for me to commute to, being that I didnt have a car at the time. I called every week to find clients and to no avail no one ever called me for work. So, with no other choice I began to search for new employment yet, still there was no word from BrighStar. All I would get was, "Well call you when/if something becomes available. Finally, in October. I called a spoke with the Branch manager Rochelle DeMaster, and asked her the reason as to why I wasnt getting placed. She first told me that I was listed as "inactive" in the companys system, and my certifications had expired. I was baffled! Being that I had gotten all of my certifications up-to-date just to begin working here. After I explained this, she put me on hold for 5-7 mins. and stated that I had had 4 complaints with the last 4 families that Id worked with. When asked about what--she said for being on my phone.o_O Really? Being that it was usually just the client and myself--I knew it was a bunch of b.s.--why didnt you say this to begin with, or one better why wasnt I told about this now 3 months ago? I was fired and never knew anything about it. She went on to say that I could no longer work there, because it went against the brand and they couldnt jeopardize their reputation..Really? Needless to say, BrightStar management is a joke. I am sitting here literally watching the founder on the show "Undercover Bosses," and was moved to write this review. I wish I wasnt forced to rate because they truly dont deserve it!!!

A sudden hospitalization for my grandfather pointed out a much bigger issue--he could no longer live alone. Hes been on his own for awhile, so he wasnt keen on having help. We knew it wasnt safe for him to be alone. The hospital gave us a list of care providers they recommend, and BrightStar was on there. After an initial phone consultation we had a nurse and representative meet us at my fathers home when he was discharged from the hospital. They were so helpful and reassuring and made my father more comfortable with accepting help. We were able to start with just a few hours a day and have increased over time. The caregiver has been wonderful and the office staff so helpful. I can call and check in any time, and Im reassured that my dad can call 24/7 and even reach the nurse, if needed. They made this transition for my father so easy and have given us peace of mind when we cant be there.

This place is a joke. The owner doesnt care about client health and wellbeing. When a concern was raised as to the care of a client, her reply was to threaten me with reduction in hours if I didnt keep my mouth shut. So I quit and called the state. Dont use this office ever.

My mother in law is in Chicago and brightstar care provides 24 hour service. They really stepped up when my family was in crisis. I am impressed with the level of professionalism the CNAs have and they have become family to us. I dont know what we would do without them.
