I recently had a terrible experience with this Animal Hospital. I took my cat in because she had not been eating or drinking. At first the staff handled the situation professionally, giving her fluids, and taking a blood sample for testing. The doctor told me that there was the possibility of a very serious kidney condition or possibly even cancer. The tests were to take place over night and they told me that they would call me with the results in the morning. The next morning came around, so I gave them a call around 9am. I was told the doctor was in surgery and would be making calls with results as soon as they were done. Again at 11am, I called again. Once again, I was told the same thing so I asked for an estimated timeline. The receptionist said most likely before 12:30-1pm. This already seemed ridiculous given the potential serious nature of my cats illness. 2pm rolled around and I had been anxiously waiting all day for the results, so I called again. The receptionist told me the doctor was still in surgery. I again asked for a timeline, this time not so politely, and was told that I would for sure hear from them before 7pm! I demanded to hear the results, so after a brief hold the receptionist returned. She said that she spoke with the doctor, and the doctor said that I needed to take my cat to the emergency clinic right away!! I got my cat in to the emergency clinic around 3pm. After they ran some tests, we determined that her results were too critical for any quality of life. My cat was put to sleep at 6pm that day. I dont know if it would have given her a chance to live whether we had got her to the emergency clinic first thing in the morning or not, but I would like to know that she had every chance possible... and thanks to Broadway Animal Hospital, she did not. I will NEVER recommend this place to anybody.

Im writing this review to warn prospect customers to expect MISCELLANEOUS charges on your bill. We brought our dogs in for annual exam and vaccines back in Nov 2016, along with all the expected charges we noticed that there is a "anal glands release" charge of 27 and "medical waste fee". We did not ask them to release the anal gland at all... We didnt fight for the charges as they are not major charges. I brought my dog in for rabies vaccin today and was once again charged a miscellaneous "examination" fee of 72 dollars, that is more than the vaccination itself. We were not informed about this charge when we made the reservation nor when they admitted my dog onsite. Even I did asked while making the reservation if there is going to be any other charges i was not given any of the information about the "examination fee". The manager Meagan explained that they were not able to refund the charge because that was doctors time spent and after further review she said I was not supposed to be charged for the full exam since we were there within 6 months and refunded me 19 dollars instead. So here comes the questions: 1, why is customer not told there is other major charges that is going to happen when they asked those information while making reservation. 2 why is customer not given the charges information when their pet is admitted? 3. Why didnt the staff who billed the customer review the pets exam history prior to billing? This is like going to a restaurant and buying a bottle of wine without being informed about the price. I would not have gone there if its not a block away from me and I will certainly not go there again. DO NOT GO.

The level of care, support, and compassion provided at the Broadway Animal Hospital is astounding. After and accident that caused dire injuries to my cat I rushed him to Broadway Animal Hospital because thats where hed received previous shots and check ups. The staff there were so kind and supportive. Unfortunately my cat was beyond saving, but I was so appreciative of how Broadway Animal Hospital did everything in their power to save cat. When they were unable to help any further my cat was transferred to an emergency hospital where I was informed he would not make it. I did not go back and explain this to the staff at Broadway Animal Hospital but because of their dedication and love for animals they took it upon themselves to follow up with the emergency clinic and then reached out to me to show their support and offer condolences. I was speechless at the amazing level of care they showed for both pets and owners. Recently I was having a conversation with someone and they told me about how their pet became ill (their cat did survive :-) ) and described how the animal clinic they took their cat to provided amazing service. Immediately I asked, "Did you go to Broadway Animal Hospital?" and they, surprised said yes and asked me how I knew, and I said that when they described the level of care and support they received I just new it had to be the Broadway Animal Hospital. Ive yet to go anywhere else that measures up. I wish I could give them 100 stars.

Took my 2 year old Sheltie here after moving to Chicago from the suburbs. The doctor and office staff were nice, but this place wasnt even close to the place that I took my dog to in the burbs. Shelties are a very emotional breed that are very attached to their owners, so when the doctor let me know that I couldnt hold my dog during the check-up I had some concerns. The dog was terrified and she was handled very poorly -- something that was never a problem with her old vet. Ill be taking her somewhere else in the future. As a follow-up. Took her to Broadway again in the spring because I couldnt get her into any other vet and she was having an acute problem. The vet was nice, but he sold me on a benadryl shot and some very expensive ($60) dog food because she was having an allergic reaction. Afterwards I followed up with her normal vet and they said it was probably because of the high allergens during the spring season and I should have just given her an over the counter pill. They also scolded me for giving my breed a Benadryl shot that could have caused (or still can) serious problems.... Im thinking that they just may not know my breed.

I must admit I was a bit apprehensive the first time I went to Broadway Animal Hospital. The exterior is a nondescript building next to a antique store. What they lack in exterior aesthetics, they make up for in caring and professionalism. They were recommended to me by a doggy day care (whom I also trust), and I also found the staff here terrific. Great, friendly attitudes. Both vets stay up to date on current treatments and approaches. We were talking about another dog I knew that had Cushings disease, and they were up to date on an emerging treatment that was derived from a chemical similar to DDT. They realize theyre in business to take care of pets that are part of peoples families. Id give anything for my dog, but not everyone can do that. Their prices are already very reasonable, but they are also sensitive to the ability for their clients to pay. Ive moved from the area since, but definitely encourage people in the area to check them out.
