Excellent diagnostician, surgeon, and overall veterinary care. I rate Bramer Animal Hospital & Dr. Hagedorn 5 stars! We have been going to Bramer Animal Hospital for decades with our dogs and cats. I or generations of my family have known almost each vet who practices there. Each animal is different, & each vet is different & they take the time to understand each animals needs & traits. Dr. Hagedorn is an expert in his field, down to earth, cares about each animal, and refers to outside experts if he feels the need to help the animal. Dr. H. checks up on his patients under his care, adjusts meds/special diets accordingly, & constantly keeps his knowledge up to date on what does or does seem to work. I have taken my dogs to other vets in my own community who take a cursory history, check over the dog, go by their own practice’s protocol for examining the dog & determine nothing is out of the ordinary, & sends you & your dog home. (Some of these other vets dont consider the "what ifs".) But, because you as the dogowner feel there is something undiagnosed, you travel a further distance to Dr. Hagedorn who examines the dog, finds nothing initially, & states, hed like to probe a little deeper which then comes back as positive evidence, and starts the course treatment. Great diagnostician who listens to you the dogowner, Dr. Hagedorn uses his educated skills to diagnose and prescribe appropriately. Dr. Hagedorn’s surgical skills have been top notch with no outlier events. Dr. H. has kept up the rigid requirements to maintain Bramers AAHA accreditation which are as strict as human hospital JCAHO accreditation. Not all vets can pass or maintain this. Dr. Hagedorns practice standards are some of the highest which is why he himself has earned the status of Diplomate ABVP American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. I recommend Bramer & Dr. Hagedorn without a doubt to take your animal to. If I could give them a 10 star rating, I would.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR PETS. THEY ALMOST KILLED MY CAT. I took my cat in for her yearly appointment where I was told that some of her teeth were in very bad shape. I asked how soon they could take care of her and was told that they couldnt do it until next week, at which point my husband and I would be in a different state for his job (for six months). As such, I very deliberately and clearly asked the vet if it would be alright if I waited for a week or two to get her teeth fixed, depending on how long it took us to find a vet and get an appointment. I was told, in very certain terms, that it would perfectly fine for us to wait to get her the appointment. By some twist of fate, we ended up renting an apartment right across from a vet who accepted walk-ins. As such, we were able to get her in to see the vet within just a few days of moving (this would be within five days of going to Bramer). Here, the vet took a much better look at her mouth and told us that he would have to immediately remove one of the teeth as it was hanging on by a thread and could be fatal if swallowed. He went in there with a small prong and, with just a slight movement of his wrist, removed the tooth. I dont even want to think what would have happened had we not had the good luck to find this new vet and get our cat in to see him as soon as possible. On top of that, this vet has always made getting my cats medication a trial, even though all they have to do is call the prescription in and I take care of all the rest. Even after I have explained situations to them about why things need to be done a certain way and they have agreed to do so, the next time I call I have to go through it all over again as they tell me that they cant do what they have already told me they could. DO NOT GO HERE.

The veterinarians here are very knowledgeable, skilled and caring. The receptionists at the front desk are efficient and friendly, and the vet techs are also friendly and really love the animals. The waiting room and the exam rooms are clean and smell fresh, which is impressive when you know there have been animals and people in and out all day! Of course the most important part of a veterinary practice is the actual pet care. My most recent experience is with Dr. Retseck, who helped me care for two senior cats with chronic issues over the course of the last year. She has a matter-of-fact approach with humans and magically calmed my stressed out cats every visit. Their prices might seem higher at first glance, but many costs are posted on the website (unlike some places), and Dr. Retseck always clearly explained the costs and benefits of tests and procedures up front so I could understand the options. So I think its worth it.

Like my parents before me, I use Bramer Animal Hospital for our household pets (cats in my case - dog and cats in the case of my parents in the 1960s through 1980s!). Bramer Animal Hospital has been a trusted resource for my family for going on 60 years. Ken Swiatkowski was our vet for our cat, Goblin, who lived to be 19 years old, in no small part to the expert care he got at Bramer. Goblin died a few years ago. Two years ago we adopted two kittens, brothers, from a shelter and they, like Goblin before them, are under the loving care of Dr. Swiatkowski and the staff at Bramer. Like most people, we think of our pets as members of the family, and as such they deserve top notch health care just like the rest of us. Go with Bramer, theyve been doing this kind of cutting edge care for a long time!

We took our 15-year-old cat to Bramer Animal Hospital last month and had an extremely positive experience. The front desk staff was very helpful in working around our schedules to find an appointment for us. On the day of the appointment, they brought us back with almost no waiting. The doctor was very friendly and kind. She took the time to explain everything to us thoroughly and entertained all of our questions, no matter how silly they sounded. She definitely treated our cat compassionately. I never felt like they were trying to push unnecessary treatments or products on us. Bramer also has a great Web site where you can create a profile for your pet and keep track of immunization records and appointments. I would definitely bring my cat back here and recommend them to a friend.

I was a little creeped out by this vet. The front office staff was not at all friendly, and neither I nor our dog liked the vet at all. She growled at the vet, and the vet muzzled her. This has never happened before. Then, on subsequent visits, they took the dog out of sight for treatments. Ive never had another vet do this. For some reason, my rating shows up as 5 stars, but I only gave them one.

I have used a vet at Bramer for my dog for the past 3 years. During each visit, the front desk staff is incredibly friendly, and my vet has given my dog the utmost care when she works with and treats him. I have yet to see another veterinary service that provides nearly as much attention and care as I have received for my pet. HIGHLY recommended.
