I am so elated that we came upon Deerfield Animal Care Center!!! Dr. Nick Sterner is THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! We have 3 dogs: Ages 10 months, 5 years, and 16 yrs old!! And he knows everything, the perfect ways to treat them, and all with just the right amount of TLC!! Their prices beat any other place we had taken our pets to, but the care and attention is why we stay. Dr. Sterner explains everything to you in detail so you know what is going on, what will be done, what you will be charged for, & what it will cost you. They allow you to be right there during the entire visit to comfort your little (or big) ones. Dr. Nick is very sociable and easy to talk to, as well as all the office staff. They are all nice, helpful, and easy to interact and have a laugh with. They are supportive of me and my 3 little guys and I always look forward to a visit to Deerfield!! My maltipoo, Ryder, was put under for a much needed teeth cleaning, that I found out was close to being much overdue! Teeth came out pearly white! Our Havanese pup, Denver, received all of his vaccines, boosters, antibiotics when needed, and upon taking him in to get fixed, just prior to taking him back, Dr. Nick looked at a bump on his belly that I found and discovered there was a hernia and that it would be best, and cheaper to fix both while he was under that day. He healed up wonderfully, and no sign of the hernia since! And our old man, Buddy, snagged a nail that had to be completely pulled. It was not fun, it was not pretty, but we got the job done, wrapped him up, got him pain meds on board, and antibiotics to prevent infection. The nail has already grown back in. These vets and techs know what theyre doing, and love what they do! This place it #1 !!!

Assist Appointments

I had 2 new adopted kittens and Deerfield Animal Care Center was wonderful through all of their vaccines, my questions, and when it was time to have them spayed and neutered. One of my kittens had a heart murmur and Dr. Stern went out of his way to speak with a heart specialist and find an inexpensive test we could administer to determine the possible extend of heart damage. It was such a huge cost savings and put my mind to rest that our little kitten could survive the neutering procedure. Ive never had a vet care so much and look for ways to help me manage the procedures emotionally and financially and always available to get on the phone and answer my questions. You will not find a more caring and professional vet for your furry friends. I cant recommend Deerfield Animal Hospital enough.

Under new management, the Deerfield Animal Care Center is now one of the best vets in the neighborhood. While the appearance hasnt changed much, inside and out, the vet techs and doctors are top-notch. We brought in a kitty that a friend had rescued from a parking lot, and they were able to squeeze in a last-second appointment at the end of that day. Its a good thing we took her in, as the kitty was - unbeknownst to us - gravely ill. Once we saw the x-rays, and got the lab results, they operated on her after-hours. They were able to give us a fair price, because she was a rescue cat. The kitty managed to pull though, and seems to be in excellent condition, thanks to the efforts of everyone at Deerfield Animal Care Center. Well continue to take our pets there.

Very impressed with Deerfield Animal Care Center. My animals have been cared for at the center for the last 45 years. Dr. Sterner recently performed surgery on my cat and also extracted a tooth at the same time. Marley is recovering beautifully. The after surgery care was great. The hospital called several times to see how she was doing. so did Dr. Sterner. A wonderful place with very capable and very caring people.

Dr Sterner was not rushed and had great suggestions that Ive already been able to incorporate. My other pets will become patients too!

I love Deerfield Animal Care Center! We took our puppy there for his first vet visit, and even though we could choose a vet closer to our house, its worth the drive for the TLC our puppy receives. Prices are reasonable. I love that its a small vet, so I feel that the vet knows my dog well.
