Were do I start? Worse animal hospital around! We had to recently put our 12 year old cat down on July 29th of 2011. Of course the family was very upset especailly my 15 year old son, we were offered a service for him to be cremated and we would recieve a casting paw print and lock of fur and his ashes. This is what we got ashes, and paw print thats it, No lock of fur! We were counting on getting what they promised, because we had no intentions of getting him cremated till the so called staff let me know about the cremation service and explained what we would get. Before we put our cat down which we did with the so called vet, I talked to my son and he said that would be a great thing to do so we always have a part of him with us in our home. Well it did not work like they said, and the explanation we received was a crock! They said due to the power outage that the area had on July 11th they did not get the email from the cremation place that stated they were discontinuing the lock of hair service, our cat died on June 29th, 2011. So just under two weeks after we PAID for the service they said they stopped offering the service. Beach park animal hospital is managed by money hungry, fly by night morons and I will never go there again. Death of anything should be treated with the up most respect and treated very seriously, this place did no such thing, all they care about is money. They should be ashamed of themselves, if you dont get respect for animals at a animal hospital then were do you? Did I mention that they did hesitate to take over $600 from me $150 of which was for his cremation. Please do not go here and if you do go here stop and find a different Vet I heard the one in antioch,IL is great. Thats were I will be going from now on.

I want to give it no stars! They said they specialized in guinea pigs and when the doctor came in she told us she doesnt know alot about them. I didnt like how they held down one of my guinea pigs. Charged us a ton of money to clip their toe nails like 30 bucks a pig on top of that didnt even give us enough meds for my girls or give them the proper physical. The doctor didnt even look at my other baby. Said since they are both sneezing give them both the antibiotics well it wasnt enough for both of them. The ringwarm meds helped Bella clear up her ringworm that they did do right. I went to a new vet they saw both girls head to toe physicals free nail clippings they held my girls like they were their own.Im glad i found a new vet because both girls still had the uri Ive got them both on meds and they are doing much better. Im upset i wasted money there and i was lied to how are you going to tell me you specialize in guinea pigs and tell me you dont know alot about them. I wanted to cry because they werent treated right and the care wasnt there. Im very happy with my new vet. I do not recommend this hospital. If you have guinea pigs or hamsters call around and take them to a place that cares and does specialize in them. My girls could have died because the uri wasnt treated more serious.

Not sure what Derden is talking about, as there are no males that work at this hospital at all, nor anyone who claims to be an exotic specialist. They must be talking about somewhere else. This hospital provides great care! They explain things well so you leave knowing what you paid for and what is going on with your pet as much as possible. As far as what jennifer says, they offer a lot of screening bloodwork and other tests for pets of all ages. They explained to me that this is to try to catch diseases before pets show signs and to get a baseline of what is normal for them when they are healthy, but they understand if that doesnt fit into everyones budget. My own doctor has me do blood screens yearly, even though Im healthy. They just want to offer the best available. I have never had trouble with the staff, they work with even feisty or scared animals in a calm manner.

Would not recommend. More worried about making money than the care of your pet. Originally took my cat there for neuter wanted 400 dollars for it. Had a semi-emergency so made an appointment on tuesday for thursday at 9am, they called me tuesday night and asked me to reschedule for wednesday at 4:30. called me wednesday morning and asked me to reschedule again. I asked for my thursday 9 am back and they said they filled it already i would have to come back next week. Very unreliable. person i talked to on the phone was very rude and unprofessional. please take your fur babies else where, they deserve better than that.

Excellent Service, Excellent care. The vets are experts in their jobs and provide wonderful compassionate care to our pets. We just brought our 120 pound chocolate lab in for a small lump on his shoulder. Dr. Abraham was able to aspirate the lump and found out a couple minutes later that it was mast cell skin cancer. She then took it very seriously and made sure she was able to take it out first thing the next day. She did a great job on the surgery and was able to remove all of the cancer. Also she caught it early enough that it was still in stage 1. We are very thankful to have such a great vet!

Very, very expensive. Staff friendly, but testing can seem excessive at times, as opposed to thorough. One visit can easily pass the $500 mark. However, the staff is very kind and the doctors are very dedicated to saving your pet. When it was time to put one of my pets to sleep, I got a second opinion (I felt so guilty). The second vet (different clinic) confirmed the diagnosis and praised the staff at Beach Park. I feel comfortable bringing my babies to this clinic, just wish it was affordable. However, the staff is amazing. Pricing aside, I trust them with the lives of my babies.

where to start with this place.... first of all their staff is horrable with animals! these people need to work as taxidermists and not with live animals! second they will try to swindle you out of your last dollar! they come up with tests and medicine that your animal has to have thats not even relevant to the animal or situation. i had a perfectly healthy animal that i brought in and 15 min into the apt i needed hundreds of dollars of tests. i will not ever return to this place, even in an emergency i will be finding a different hospital

I always thought this place was over priced, but the straw that broke the camels back was being made to sit in a crowded waiting room with 2 pit bulls who were straining to get to a terrified cat in a carrier. The woman owner of the cat looked uncomfortable and she didnt know what to do. I asked the receptionist if she could put the cat carrier behind the desk at least. When the cat owner stood up, the pits basically pulled their owners out of their chairs, straining to get a chance at it. I just walked out with my dogs.
