I need to find a new place for health care. This place is just a 15 minute walk from me. The doctors were great but the front desk staff makes me want to cast aside the purple ribbon promise I made in the eighth grade to never raise my hand in anger (that kind of contemplation is usually reserved for phone customer service). After my first two visits, the experience was so bad I didnt plan to return, but the close proximity and the early appointment they offered (meaning I could start work sooner) lured me back in... I went back because I was scheduled to see a doctor to check my immunizations for work. I scheduled two appointments, One at 10, the other at 12. I was told that would not be a problem. After my first appointment Im waiting in the clinic waiting room in plane view of all of the desk staff. I check the time 11:50 AM Awesome! Im in time for my next appointment... 12pm comes and goes... this is a clinic so yeah itll be slow, I give a little extra for that.... 1 PM... hmmm... 1:15 PM... let me check on this appointment. I walk the maybe 5 feet to the desk and ask about my 12pm appointment. The womans reply is: we moved it to 2:30 PM because we didnt think you would be done with your first appointment. WTF?! Me: Did you call my name? Did you check to see if I was in the waiting room at the time of my appointment? Her: Well you doctor tends to be slo- Me: I didnt ask you about my doctor, I asked if you called my name to see if I was sitting in the waiting room? Her: No. Me: I know, because I was sitting right there (I point) in plain site of you. Her: We thought youd be late so we figured wed move you to a cancellation spot. Me: Okay... so when you did realize that I was in the waiting room is there a reason you didnt say "Hey, we canceled your appointment so you can leave and come back in 2 hours?" Her: Blank stare Me: so I see the doctor at 2:30? if something else changes would you do me a favor (again I point to my seat) and let me know. Her: Yes, okay 2:30 comes... Im giving them 15 freaking minutes. 2:45 comes: Me: Just checking in, to make sure nothings changed Her: Oh, the doctors 2:30 appointment is here (she points at him) so she cant see you. Me: #1, AGAIN, Im sitting right in front of you, I saw that man walk in nearly 20 minutes ago, is there a reason you didnt think to tell me I wasnt going to be seen at 2:30? And #2, if the 2:30 canceled they shouldnt be able to just pop up and reclaim the appointment. Her: Oh, they never canceled WTF?! ME: why did you give me their appointment then? HER: sometimes late in the day appointments cancel so we hoped theyd cancel ME: *walked away because I knew the next words I was going to say might be reason enough for security to be called* MANAGER (She over hears this and had already apologized to me once earlier in the day): NO, she is seeing the doctor right now, well have to reschedule that guy (Theyve now given him a valid reason to be pissed off, and he was, cause he was suffering for something that was not his fault). ME: *I wish I could thank her but currently the only language I know is not suitable for public* I see the doctor who tells me Ill need to visit again for a follow up and before she can finish her sentence... ME: OH No! Im sorry, youre great and all but the process of getting to see you, No. Ill come pick up my papers but no more appointments, sorry. 3 strikes youre out. I will not do that to myself a 4th time.

I have never had such a horrible experience then have at this place. Its like they hire the most insensitive and rude receptionists on the planet. I came in three different times over the course the the year and the same woman (fake blonde hair with horrible roots) signed me in and continually wasted my time. Not only did she have stank attitude but she would treat patients as if they were utter garbage. Today I had the most delightful experience of waiting 40 minutes just so she could tell me I needed to renew my insurance card (I was one of three people there and came on time). Another time she picked up the phone mid conversation with me and completely disregarded my existence for the next 15 minutes. I understand this is a government run institution, but I dont think Heartland should treat its predominately poor (myself included) patients like complete trash. Just my thoughts xx.

I am a strong believer in providing good customer service. Since I am such a strong believer, I expect the same of any person, company and healthcare center that I do business with. Unfortunately, I did not get this at Heartland Health Center on Devon. I was inquiring about pricing for services I received from Heartlands billing manager, Huell. What I got was a man who was rude and belligerent with me the entire time I was on the phone. I understand that you may be limited on what you know and what you can tell me but that in no way excuses poor customer service or being rude. I am a new patient at heartland but I am going to be an ex-patient very soon if Heartland does not do anything to rectify the situation.

I love my doctor here (and these stars are for her). But I really hate their patient service. For one they take forever answering the phone. You have to call like 10 times. Then they put you on a long hold, for about 5-10 minutes, transfer you to the wrong person, and before you know it you have to call all over again. They also joke and horse play around with eachother a lot at the desk when your just trying to get checked in and be out. Very unprofessional. People dont have time for this. Its a doctors office for goodness sake not a playground. Show some work ethic and conduct.

The front desks are so rude specially the African American lady. I had appointment today ( 12/13/16) @ 1:30 PM. I have been there@ 1:35 PM. I was asked to wait until. 20 minutes later I was called by this African American front desk staff. She said I was about 30 minutes late and I need to reschedule my appointment. I told her regarding my waiting time but she refused. I was told to get there 30 minutes earlier if I need to see the doctor. I wanted to talk to the supervisor but she said she is superior. Then I had nothing to say. Thats the way they work.

The african american desk lady needs to be fired. Theres been numerous complaints about her already. She has a terrible attitude and wont answer simple questions no matter how you phrase them. Yet when other black people came into the place, shes all smiles. I have no idea what type of problem she has.. But she does not belong as a receptionist. If she were a fast food worker, I bet she would spit in everyones food. That is the type of vibe she gave off.. Avoid this place at all costs. There are many Heartland locations in the city!

the doctor is okay, but the front desk staff are rude and slow. I came in to speak to the doctor about my records, preparing for a wait time. She tells me the doctor already left since there were no patients left for her to see. I say ok, but let her know to call me instead. It took her about 15 whole minutes to decide how to type out the message to leave for the doctor. Then, 10 minutes after I left, the doc calls me and says shes still THERE. These people need to get their communication together. Theyre also not nice about it either.
