Whats not to love here? Amazing doctor, great hygienist and super pleasant staff...first let me give you some back story... My general dentist recommended Dr. Flowers for a root canal on my molar about a month ago. I procrastinated of course and after my girls weekend in Vegas, found myself in a world of pain. I called the office at 8:54am (they werent even open yet) and I thought Id leave a voice mail but to my surprise Kimberly answered the phone and scheduled me for an appointment that day. So far so great... I get there and Im taken to the back pretty quickly after filling out paper work, Ophelia was wonderful, kept me calm as per my heart rate - I was a little nervous. Then Gigi came in and took some x-rays, she explained everything as she was doing it, very professional and quick. Dr. Flowers took a look at my tooth and suggested either a root canal or extraction, obviously I wanted to keep my tooth so I went ahead with the root canal. After another x-ray, Kimberly came back to the room to discuss my treatment plan and the payment. I love that she came back to the room so I didnt have to go to the front, they really do think of everything. After that was settled, the root canal began. Dr. Flowers checked in with me every step of the way and assessed my pain at every part of the procedure. Gigi and Dr. Flowers are hilarious, I was trying not to laugh so I wouldnt move but these two are a riot. They completely took my mind off of the root canal and it was done in no time. Did I mention R&B is playing the entire time? Talk about relaxing! LOVE. When I left I was given a prescription for ibuprofen and Vicodin. I was told that I only need the Vicodin if the Ibuprofen wasnt working. Well, guess what? I feel nothing. No more aches, no more pain and I can close my mouth and chew food. I didnt even need the Vicodin. This place is amazing, I cannot wait to come back...NOT. I hope I dont need to come back for anything other than a checkup :)

I have been to many dentist and have had several root canals. My visit and treatment at South Loop Dental Specialist has been by far the best. Vivian patiently detailed my treatment plan and how much I was going to have to pay out of pocket. When I explained that I might have to cancel my appointment due to not getting paid until four days later, she helped me set up a payment for that date so that I could keep my appointment and be free from pain. She did it with much respect. Marilyn was the assistant that helped Dr. Ash during my procedure. I loved her bubbly personality. She welcomed me to the back like she was welcoming her best friend. That put a smile on my face. She warned me that taking the X-rays my be a little uncomfortable but proceeded to make it as comfortable as she possibly could. My awesome experience could only be completed by one of the best endodontist in the world, Dr. Ash. Dr. Ash started out by saying that the numbing shot would pinch a little. Im still waiting for the pinch. He didnt stab me in the mouth with the needle. He gently and patiently inserted it, administered the medicine, and waited for me to be fully numb before he started my root canal procedure. He explained what he was doing as he worked while also making sure that I was as comfortable as possible. The equipment used is current and state of the art. After he was done, Marilyn scheduled me for a 6 month follow up which I had never had after a root canal. Lovely. I am not experiencing any pain. I even went shopping afterwards. I pray that I dont ever have to have another root canal but if I do, I know exactly where I will be getting it done. South Loop Dental Specialists!!!!

I was referred to Dr. Flowers at South Loop Dental Specialists by my dentist Dr. Arabia (who is also fantastic). I had also heard people in the neighborhood speak highly of him. So it was a no brainer that he would be a great doctor to see. It was assuring to see a specialist for the first time knowing Id be in good hands from his stellar reputation. Dr. Flowers was extremely calm, nice and lived up to his reputation. I honestly cant think of a root canal that was less painful. I didnt feel any shots and thats never happened, the procedure itself wasnt uncomfortable at all. Sure, no one likes the noises and vibrations but other than what comes along with having to get a root canal this was the best one Ive ever had. Ive had a lot of root canals and dental work over the years and I would recommend Dr. Flowers to anyone if they want work done correctly and executed with extreme care. I also was throroughly impressed with his staff. When staff is happy, kind and has a sense of humor thats a wonderful sign to me that the office runs smoothly and if everyone is happy. One of the first people I spoke with was his assistant and she didnt judge my self admitted anxiety and made me extremely comfortable. I would recommend this practice and Dr. Flowers to anyone who wants quality, professional and kind care.

My experience at South Loop Dental Specialists was the best I have ever had at a dental office. (Dont tell my general dentist) Initially I was little apprehensive because I had fractured my tooth and was fearful of loosing it but my general dentist assured me that Dr. Olguin and Dr. Flowers are truly the best in their fields. From the time I walked into the door I was greeted with a smile by the front desk staff. Dr. Flowers examined my tooth and recommended I take a 3D scan to determine if my broken tooth was salvageable. Imagine my surprise when we found that it was! In addition, they gave me a copy of my 3D scan on a disk....pretty cool. Anyway, Dr. Flowers advised that I have a root canal and a crown lengthening procedure with Dr. Olguin so that my general dentist can put a crown on what was left of my tooth. The humorous banter between doctor and assistant during both procedures made the experience not only speedy but entertaining. Both doctors were gentle and compassionate from beginning to end. A week later, I am feeling fine and have had no use for the pain medication prescribed. Though I dont intend on breaking any more teeth... I would certainly return to South Loop Dental Specialists in a heartbeat. They entire staff is as kind and professional as it gets. Thanks so much guys!!

Everything about this office is top notch! From the dimmly lit waiting area that smells so fresh and so clean I nearly doze off immediately after I sit down.. To the Motown tunes pumping out of the speakers, oh yeah!!. Thats a big us in my book. To the smiling and oh-so polite ladies, working the desk and assisting the Drs. That is vital to a successful business they know it and are great at making everyone feel ok. Now... to the DOCS: Dr. Flowers and Dr. Olguin. WOW. IM a 39 year old man who always hated the dentist especially the "specialist". The specialist had the tooling kept in a special kit sort of like a good sniper carries his rifle to work each day in a kit. I now have a different view of things. I feel like I know the "specialists" Dr. Flowers and Dr. Olguin. The way we talked and the way they answered any and all my concerns and couldnt stress enough to call their cell phone after hours if I needed anything at all. I really just knew the office existed for me for just over the past few days but it felt like I had been coming there for years. They are all AMAZING people! If you havent been there and are in pain or are on the fence about where to go, nervous about a specialist giving you the business, look no further. Dr. Flowers and Dr. Olguin are the truth. God Bless T.L.
