I do not reccommend bringing any of your animals here to see Dr. Ishlam or however its spelled. Unless youre okay with a dead family member. On an early Saturday morning, our puppy was not acting right. She had vomitted 8 - 10 times within an hour, very lethargic, and we knew we had to do something. So we called the veterinary clinic and they told us they would be waiting for us to arrive. Dr. Flinn was extremely helpful and kind, and let our pup vomit to check to see the color, odor present, etc. Well she then said there could be an obstruction, and she wanted to keep our puppy for a few hours to push fluids and prevent vomiting so she wouldnt become dehydrated. EVEN THOUGH SHE THOUGHT THERE WAS AN OBSTRUCTION, SHE DIDNT TAKE XRAYS OR BLOODWORK. First mistake. A few hours later, we picked our puppy up, but something was still wrong with her attitude. Dr. Flinn told us she would let the vet on call that night know about our puppys possible condition and if we needed to bring her back in due to more vomitting, do not hesitate to call. Later that night, early Sunday morning, our puppy woke up, left our bed and went to be alone. We could not coax her out from underneath our bed, and she was wretching a lot. But no vomit. She was extremely lethargic, shaky, and her pupils were shaky and dilated. Something was very, very wrong. We immediately called the vet on call at Walton and Haarrmann, told her all our puppys symptoms. All Dr. Islham(sp?) could say was, "interesting, hmm...i see." And she was very quiet for long periods of time, without any talking from myself. You could tell she was very irritated that we had woke her up at 4am. SHE TOLD US TO WAIT IT OUT and SHE would call us back LATER IN THE DAY. There was no way we could wait. We acted immediately, brought our puppy to Animal Emergency Clinic in Champaign and they rushed her in, did a few xrays and found air buildup in her intestines and a blockage. They had to perform surgery, and the vet told us that if we would have waited another hour, more air would of built up inside of our puppy and killed her. Dr. Islham called us back an hour after we had left the Emergency Clinic....four and a half hours later from the original call. She could not believe thats what was wrong with our puppy, and could sense that we were very angry and upset with her. We will never take any of our animals back here again, and neither will any of my family members. Its sad though, because I used to be an great supporter of this vet clinic and all my animals went here. Not anymore. I think Walton & Haarmann need an employee refresher. If you are looking for an incredible vet and great, helpful employees I would reccommend Clydes Veterinary Clinic in Mattoon, Illinois. They wont mess around, and they care about your animals if they were their own.

They are the reason our dog is dead!! first of all we took our 12 year old dog there with a dental problem and was told she had an infection she was given an injection and then we were told to bring her back the next day for extraction and cleaning. when we picked her up 8 hours after dropping her off she was unable to walk and even several hours later. by 10:30 am we were calling them because we thought she was dead but she was breathing. after waiting in their waiting room for over 5 minutes they finally came and got her and the dr started working on her but had no clue what was wrong but said her heart beat was strong and they wanted to get her on fluids. which they were not able to do then she just theft for 30 to 40 minutes then came back and told the other girl she could go to lunch then told my wife these things always happen during lunch break. I suggested taking our dog to another place and they got all upset saying they were doing everything that could be done. after almost 3 hours they tried to put her on oxygen but didnt know how to use the machine. our dog died then. We found out later our dog had a grand mal seizure and couldve been saved with a competent vet. However with the infection she had she should never had been put under anesthesia until she had been treated for the infection first also found out to late. we were told how sorry they were by a receptionist and that the doctor felt that it was just an unfortunate reaction to the anesthesia. This is probably why they dont do charges anymore they want their money up front in case of the unfortunate reactions.

Take your dog here if you want to be charged a ridiculous amount for them to kill your dog. Our chihuahua/terrier mix just had pups and was throwing up a lot. We took her in on a Sunday night (expensive emergency fee) just for Dr. Walton to give her a shot of antibiotics and send her home. We took her back 3 times for him to do nothing but give her a shot of antibiotics. He never once did any tests or ask about the pups. Almost week of not being able to keep food or water down and he was still unconcerned, said it was just mastitis. A different vet was on call that weekend and took one look at her and said she needed to stay so they could figure out what was wrong and spay her at the same time. She made it through surgery fine but died soon after. They discovered she had a massive stomach infection. I know if he would have done something sooner she would still be alive!

This weekend we called the emergency number not once but twice explaining we had a filly that would not and could not nurse. Whatever vet we spoke with told us to simply milk the mare and syringe feed the goal even after we asked him to come and look at them. We finally got a hold of a vet from Advanced Veterinary in effingham(the only other large animal vet i could find) The filly is dummy foal, which what my concern was and needed IV fluids and plasma along with other interventions. THANK YOU Brittany for saving this babies life because if this vets advice was followed it would be dead.

Worst experience of my life. My dog had parvovirus and had to spend the night there with no one watching over her. If she wasnt so well behaved she could of easily chewed through the iv that was pumping fluids in her. My cousin went here as well at the same time because her dog had the same thing, but he actually did pull his iv out. Luckily he made it out with his life but it was barely. They would of both been better off at home, at least they would of had someone watching them through the night. I really hate this place and dont trust the people working there.
