I am not the type of person to write a bad review (or any) but I feel this seriously needs to be said. DO NOT COME HERE! I came on a Thursday to have a TB test and my blood drawn for proof of immunity. I arrived on time to my appointment and was told the physician was 40 minutes behind. Okay. I understand and I dont mind waiting. Things do happen. 40 minutes goes by and the nurse (I think her name was Vanessa. If you get her, run the other direction. Completely incompetent.) Comes to tell me they are now 30 more minutes behind. Ive already waited 40 so I agree to wait and she sticks me in an examination room. The physician comes in asking what I need done. I had to explain several times to several people that I needs to get my blood drawn and wasnt expecting immunization records. Finally the nurse comes in to put in the thing for the test and tells me to return first thing on Monday (after getting very confused on what day it is) I confirm with the front desk that I have to come back on Monday. I waited to get my blood drawn which is honestly the only good part about my time there. She did an awesome job drawing my blood. Quick and painless and a lot of people have trouble on me because I have small deep veins so I was very impressed. And then I was on my merry way. I went back today (Monday) as soon as I was able to. I walked in, filled out a short form, told them I was there Thursday for a TB test, and waited. After about 15 minutes, a different woman calls me in, looks at my arm, and tells me she will be back with a record of the TB test. I waited another 25 minutes before she sees me sitting there and asks if I got my paperwork yet. I said no. She calls for the nurse that saw me on Thursday and Vanessa walks in asks if I have a paper that I want them to fill out. I ask for a record of the TB test. She says OK and verifies that I was there on the 16th (she remembered me). 10 minutes later she comes in, tells me Im late, and that she told me to come on Friday or Saturday (she didnt and Friday doesnt fall into the correct window of time anyways) after a 5 minute pointless argument of her insisting that she told me Saturday and me telling her that both her and the girl at the front desk told me Monday, she tells me she can put it in again. I told her I need it to be done. She says shell be right back. While Im waiting, a man comes in and asks if everything is OK. I explained the situation to him, he leaves, and comes back to tell me the TB test needs to be put in at a designated appointment and then escorts me back to the front desk to make an appointment for tomorrow. These people have no idea what the heck they are doing and I am beyond upset over this. After this test is done, I will NOT be coming back to this office. It seems all the Elgin offices are very rude like this. I have been to the offices in mchenry and sycamore and they are so much nicer and better. I feel so disrespected of my time and myself.

I give it three stars based on past experience with my doctors and how generally I do get it when i schedule my appointment. The slade location is a pretty good place, cant say the same for the other location in elgin. If you are having a physical or any other annual check up this is the place to go. Should you be in need of pain relief then Id go another way. Honestly you spend a good hour of your time waiting for someone to just tell you that nothing can really be done but you should wait it out and maybe stretch. Sure you may be close to tears in pain and have explained how your pain is stopping you from doing even the most basic of things but the answer is usually to go do some stretches and heres a few wasted pages on how exactly to do that. As if the internet couldnt have told us the same thing. So if you genuinely are in pain dont waste your time here, Ive done so a few times (my mistake) and with the same pointless result. If you have insurance by all means visit an E.R. They actually take it seriously. At least someone who does something for you can rightly bill your insurance.

I have been a patient with GEFCC for 10yrs. I used to go to the Summit St location and was very displeased with the parents letting their children run all over the place. Thankfully, the Slade/Center St location opened up and I must say that I have had nothing but GREAT service performed by the ENTIRE process. I am pleased with the people that check me in and how efficient they are. I am also very HAPPY with my pcp Dr Govinda! She is AWESOME and she always is helpful and thorough with my lab results and she takes her time to go through everything before I leave my appointment. THANK YOU GEFCC for all that you do for me!!!

The worse staff there is. They dont answer phone calls and they denied walk ins. Dont waste your time going there as a walk in.
