I chose to see dr smullen bc her clinic was close to my house, specialized in cats and she had good reviews. With our girl cat who had pink eye, no complaints, staff is really nice. We also brought our boy cat and this is why 1 star. He had some weight loss and questionable urine results. She had us do a water deprivation test on him (no water for 24 hours) i emailed her w a question on Sunday because i was told the email was checked and never heard back. Me being nervous took him to the emergency vet. They told me 1. The numbers in his urine we not that bad 2. Its RARE to need to do a water deprivation test and wasnt needed, and 3. That she had put him on a steriod that was unnecessary, and hed need to be tapered off which we were never told. My email was never answered, I called and cancelled their follow up appointments on the answering machine and there was no follow up. Im not sure how everyone else has amazing things to say but this makes me feel like she doesnt care about her patients. I paid 500+ for what i now feel were unnecessary tests and cant even get a follow up response? Im not even mad about the $, im upset what i put my cat thru for no reason. Its great everyone else has had a great experience here just be careful!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Smullen and her staff. We have taken our cats there for 10+ years and she has given them the best care. One of our cats was having aggression issues; every other vet told us it was because our kids were pestering the cat. Dr. Smullen identified a food allergy and anxiety issues. Within a few days on new food and medicine our cat was a changed pet! He was happy and healthy. Another great thing is their house visits. When our cat became too sick to travel Dr. Smullen saw him at the house. Our other cat used to just flip out at the vets office, so Doc and Betty would come here. Its an amazing service that you wont get anywhere else. If you want the best specialized cat care this is the place!

I have gone to Capricorn Clinic for Cats for over 20 years (even previous to current ownership) and I would not go anywhere else! The care is paramount to any other vet clinic I have gone to because they are so compassionate and empathetic. They have helped to keep my cats healthy and will stop at nothing to find out what is wrong if a sickness occurs. The personal care is outstanding from each and every staff member. In addition, since they only see cats, they really are on top of their game! I drive 30 minutes to take my cats here and it is well worth every mile!

I had been taking my Oscar to another reputable veterinary practice for years. It wasnt until an acquaintance suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Smullen that he finally got diagnosed and began proper treatment for his illness. I cant say enough about Dr. Smullen and her staff. Not only were they caring and thorough with Oscar (who was a very difficult patient), but they were always very responsive to and patient with me as I dealt with my cats illness. If you have a cat, there is no better doctor and practice!!!

I switched to this vet, even though she is 45 mins away from my house. My old vet kept adding new people to the practice and I never knew who I might end up seeing. I prefer to stick with *one* person who knows and remembers my cat. She also treated a kidney infection one of the other did not diagnose. And, she gave my elderly cat enough expert care sot that she managed to hang on until summer. She got to go out and sit in the sun for a couple of weeks.

We love Dr. Shelia & her staff to take care of our three cats. If you want a cat clinic where there are ONLY cats she is the best. No loud barking dogs to make the cats more nervous. We drive 20 miles to see her. She even makes house calls which is really nice!!!

I have never found more caring, accurate help for my animals. Because they specialize, they have seen and done it all for cats. I highly recommend the clinic. They OBVIOUSLY arent in it for the money but instead truly want to help the animals.
